ssjvegito
Maybe the content will be easier to buy in more regions now for more reasonable prices. Keep in mind Anime on disc is ridiculously expensive compared to most hollywood movies on disc.

If you're talking about Aniplex, sure. They're the reason why pirating is encouraged.

They really aren't, most of the time. Anime is normally priced around the same amount as standard TV shows and movies in North America, though only when the shows are sold at places like Wal-Mart. More traditional specialty shops and online retailers like Amazon normally sell them for more, but not by much. Anime normally also has more episodes per set than regular tv shows and the like, or longer running time. Aniplex is the only real offender with $50 4-5 episode BDs and $80 for 7 episodes. Funimation is 12-14 episode sets for around $45-55 and up to around $55-75 for 14-16 episode sets. Sentai has been using cheaper prices lately, with no more than $55 for most sets that are not LEs. There's also Eastern Star who seem to sell their 26-episode TV shows on DVD for US$40.

Their titles labeled as imports are always way more expensive, since they are always LEs and include way more than what they should to "justify" their "higher than normal" costs. They are normally sub only releases that are like this also.

The quality of their dubs are just about at the same level with Funimation's. And Funi charges 1/8 for the same amount of EPs. ie. Quality dubs should be affordable, and not overpriced. thedoctor2014
This could end up being good, and with Sony buying Funimation it is a possibility that they may also purchase Cunchy Roll as well if they don't have some kind of claim to them through this deal. I don't even pretend to understand all the behind the scenes stuff, but I'm pretty sure Crunchy Roll and Funimation are connected somehow after reading they made some kind of deal awhile back. Not sure if that is true though, but think it could end up being good if Sony decides to sink some money into them on top of what they already make off their anime.
