Linkin Park's future

Recommended Posts

I'm still reeling from hearing the news of Chester's passing. LP is one of the first bands my dad introduced me to when I was younger, and I 'm glad he did. "In the End" is his all-time favorite LP song, while mine changes now and then. For a while it was a tie between "Breaking the Habit" and "Burn It Down", but I have to say the one I like the most is:

People have mentioned it in other places, I'll say it here: "Valentine's Day", the song, was made when Chester's dad actually passed away on a Valentine's Day prior to 2007. And I guess it's dedicated him. Even after all these years, I still listen to this song the most.

For the record everyone, Linkin Park only contributed songs in the live-action Transformers movies up to the 3rd one, Dark of the Moon (2011). They let Michael Bay use "What I've Done" in the first film because they enjoyed the G1 cartoon and gladly made "New Divide" for Revenge of the Fallen (2009) as a follow-up and collaboration with the composer, Steve Jablonsky. With Age of Extinction (2014) and The Last Knight (2017), other bands contributed songs for those movies instead, like Imagine Dragons.

After hearing Chester apparently committed suicide, I was really shocked. So was my dad when I told him. At this point, hard to say what happens to Linkin Park. Okay sure, some of their latest albums aren't great, but instead of doing the same thing over and over like many people want/expected, they tried to mix things up. Doesn't always work, but they tried. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if LP went on a long hiatus, or if Mike Shinoda brings the other bands members to do some new songs for Fort Minor or other projects.

RIP Chester Bennington. You will be missed.

If you look at bands whose vocalist leaves or is no more tend to disband and start individual projects from the following they built up, only if they are a hugely popular band which has been around a long long time. Other relatively newer bands find a replacement. LP is smack dab in the middle of this scenario.

Let's discuss about east asian lossless music distribution methods. I myself is currently focused for Japanese music and I am getting disappointed much because of unavailability of what I look for. I know,  people will say jps is the best place. But they are not. Bunch of fraud guys there uploads lossy to lossless transcodes. Their administration panel is somewhat reluctant to this. In my experience, mods are hobbyist and immature of musical taste. Furthermore there is a bad tradition of sharing flac files without eac documents. Reputed community like Red,Gcs,Apl,Wfl are strict about this. But they are nothing next to specialized on Japanese music, I don't expect either. My personal interest is classical jp music from last century, rare records and indie/alt bands . Hilarious enough jps waste money on silly girly groups. It is soul sickening. I am aware that Japanese themselves use p2p clients like pd,share,utatane, winny but none of them seems to be handy for music. I would really like to know if there's anything else.
For chinese music I heard about ocd. I will check them out soon. For now, I am less interested in kpop. But like to know about it. nyaa,bk,u2 has some music, but they are mostly anime related.  Let me know your thoughts and TIA

We need to make some noise and get people aware of this as it could be bad for everyone outside the US and Canada.
Knowing how this forum is hosted outside the US, our community could fall victim to this at any time.
We already have a few pre-requisites that could help getting this defeated once again
-The US president (Donald Trump as of the creation of the post) hates the TPP, so this could get international fanatics of the president to turn against it.
-There's currently a holocaust-like scenario in the Hollywood where many prolific people are being outed as sexual pests, making the fact that they're trying to get people canned from cyberspace for doing as little as looking up movie clips not sit well with many (TL;DR it should be a cakewalk to get the pedowood crowd on-board).
Quoting a anonymous 8chan user (ID 866ffd on 11/11/17) the anon summarized the bill in full as:

Hey, I've been creating/experimenting a lot (since 2012) on my composing software. I always make sets, then delete them as I see myself upgrading my skills, that's why there is only one song in my soundcloud ,for the moment as I hope this will be my last set:
Hope you enjoy, and can imagine some sceneries from it, (Like a video game theme, or anime... dunno) any feedback is appreciated!
