InsanityPeanut
While I really love the Studio Ghibli movies from that time period, my all-time 80s favorite will probably be Akira. It was a masterpiece for its time and still stands up today.
EireMic6
I'm with Crusader on this one, Akira was just so great and iconic.

Also liked Fist of the North Star , Demon City Shinjuku , Crying Freeman ( although some OVA's were released in the 90's ) , Vampire Hunter D and Wicked City and on the other end of the spectrum almost all of Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata movies . Series : the original Voltron , Dragon Ball , Rose of the Versailles , Hello Sandybell , Fist of the North Star ( the series ) ...

107
I'd have to go for Grave of the Fireflies. Remember watching that on a long bus ride — wasn't a good idea with all the people around seeing me cry...
abc147258
definitely Mobile Suit Gundam, even in Gundam community, it's considered one of the best in the franchise
Dab is a Cunt
Akira, the obvious choice also Dragon Ball, Devilman OVAs, Hokuto no Ken, Vampire Hunter D, Area 88, 80s Ghibli, Gundam. Does Lupin count? I think that's 70s
Spartan_117
I'm gonna have to go with 'Akira'. Love that anime film. Haven't really watched a lot from that time, though.

autumnrabbit
First anime I ever watched was Saint Seiya. It was so violent my mom went nuts. LOL.
Tanis
Probably Robotech. Sure, it's a bit of a fucked up chimera, but it's got a good nostalgia factor for me.

They should dub it, and get Jackie Chan to do Ryo both the English and Chinese dubs
NaturalMethod
Definitely Macross (Robotech) for me. It's what introduced me to anime and got me hooked!
Jokmank
Bubblegum Crisis - the original OVA. And that's not nostalgia speaking. I saw that several years ago and completely fell in love with it. That and Macross embody the awesomeness of 80s anime.
Killua
I have only watched Dragon Ball so uh... I guess I am going with that.
matterra
Magical Fairy Persia. Don't really know why I liked it better than anything else from that time.
