Why do you actually hate Teen Titans Go ?.

Recommended Posts

Both shows are great, people mostly don't like it because they compare one to the other, but it's apple and oranges.

TT Go! is funny, silly, smart and irreverent.

Beyond the original series, the show is good for me.

First and foremost, the art style. For this, there is no "not comparing to original series" because they are quite clearly using the same basic designs which anyone who watched the original will associate them with, but aren't doing it well. I'm fine with chibi style for comedy. I loved the DC chibi shorts that aired before the show so that isn't my issue. It's like a bad parody's animation, it feels cheap. Secondly, the show is a comedy, and while it has funny episodes/moments, it overall isn't really funny. It just feels like they're trying too hard to make a show about super heroes all about typical, modern, CN comedy stuff. Third, any show that piggybacks on an original shows success only to ditch 90% of what made the original popular is begging to fail. Finally, (and this is my most important personally) the creators of TTG have acted from the very beginning as though they are in every way superior to the original show and it's writers. They literally sh!t on the show that did all the hard work for them (ie. Character development, settings, voice actors, designs for 90% of everything. Not to mention a fan base!). They even said they never watched (or planned to watch) the originals other than skimming for source materials for their show. Overall, it's the ATTITUDE that the creators and subsequently their show have toward the original series they base their crap on.

I'll only say this to the haters, reboot: to produce a distinctly new version of (an established media franchise, as a film, TV show, video game, or comic book).

Because they deliberately spat in the face of the fans of the original animated series. They hyped it up by making announcements like "The Teen Titans are coming back!" and then make a big deal out of gathering the original voice talent. They use the same characters, costumes (most of which had been heavily redesigned for the earlier animated series and don't actually reflect their comic counterparts), villains (most of which were original to the previous cartoon), and settings of the original cartoon... and then feed us a bastardized riff straight out of Robot Chicken or MAD! and have the audacity to say: "it's for children who aren't even nostalgic about a show that existed before they were born!"

No. There was no reason to go to all the trouble to make TTGo superficially resemble and ape aspects of the previous incarnation of the series. They could have used different characters, made new costumes or used ones which were more inspired by the comics, used completely different villains. They didn't do that. They went out of their way to appeal to the older fans, and then somewhere along the way they decided "Nah, fuck those guys."

That's why I hate TTGo. It was a giant fucking bait and switch, followed with incessant mocking from both its creators and its fans. It was dishonest from the start.

I just thought I'd share with you which cartoons I've liked, which cartoons I haven't liked, and which cartoons I plan on watching.  I'd like you to tell me which cartoons you'd recommend to me!  Feel free to "second" the ones on my list, too.  It gives me a better idea of what kinds of cartoons you like.  Keep in mind that while I have watched a handful of anime and adult cartoons, I am generally not interested in them, so there's no need to mention them.

      Currently watching:

Dreamworks Dragons I'm finally making some headway again, after a long time of procrastinating and waiting to download the special episode that takes place between the Cartoon Network and Netflix seasons. The Netflix seasons are so much better animated, it isn't even funny. Goes to show you what a little budget will do, huh?
      Cartoons I've liked*:

      Honorable Mentions:

Cartoons that I plan to watch**:

Cartoons I might watch if enough people recommend them:

      Cartoons on hold:

Cartoons that I stopped watching due to a lack of interest:

      Cartoons that are objectively bad:

*List is in approximate order of favorite (top) to least favorite (bottom)
**List is in the approximate order that I plan to watch them in
      Bold: Still getting new episodes
      Italic: Uncertain future
      Underline: Has not yet premiered

So I was wondering if any of you guys has any official dvd releases of cartoon network shows with American Spanish Dub, I know this site it's focues on the original english tracks and english dubs, but I know some cartoon releases like Samurai Jack and Star Wars The Clone Wars includes the spanish dub.

If you have a cartoon on dvd, any cartoon old or new, except for Samurai Jack and SWTCW, and it has spanish dub, please consider to include it with your releases, that would be really great.

Let's say 2000-2010. I know Spongebob was created in 1999 but it's best seasons (2 and 3) come in the early 2000s. Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network had some of my favorite shows still. Ed, Edd, and Eddy along with Hey Arnold were my absolute favorites when I was younger. Definitely want to add The Last Airbender and Danny Phantom as well- DP had such a catchy theme too.
