anyone heard of BABYMETAL?

Recommended Posts

So theres this band called BABYMETAL, and I think I've just come across the greatest thing on Earth. What happens when you cross death metal with chirpy j-pop? Well, take a listen...

It works surprisingly well no? the 3 girls are absolutely adorable an the riffs are crushingly heavy (if you like metal that is).

Well, they do sound pretty good. However, I'm going to correct you here. They are a cross between J-rock and alternative metal. Not close to death metal, you can clearly hear the individual notes and that they were saying words. Anyways, thanks for posting them. They were pretty fun to listen to.

Yeah, I've heard of them.

This would probably start something, but I wouldn't call this either j-rock or alt metal, or a mixture, but I'd say it's some dodgey Euro Power Metal interpretation.

*cough* just like a lot of Japanese metal music is a ripoff of European music.

The Megitsune song was disgustingly mixed - the drums sound terrible.

well the first song baby metal death and a few others on the album have some death-style vocals (by the backing band), and in terms of style....theyres a lot of influences going on on the album, trust me, theres a song with a rap(!) section that leads to a crushing death metal/metalcore style breakdown, a song that has a reggae section, and the rest is pretty much thrash guitars and blast beats. Go listen to a few of the other songs, theres a lot of thrash/death influences in the backing band.

Mami and Yuri are cute. Hehe. But you mislabeled the first video wrong. On the album it's spelled "Haedbangeeeeeeeer!" lol. I thought the video was funny when she was headbanging. I've never seen a japanese headbang before or do the grunting like american heavymetal bands.

EDIT:

lol I messed up. Her name isn't Yuri, it's Yui. My bad.

Moametal is the cutest :) but Su has one decent set of pipes! man can she sing! and just think shes only 15...give her a few more years and she'll be able to belt out some huge power metal-esque notes!

I thought they looked like they're teenagers, lol. I'm more into the pigtails and schoolgirl look. lol. I don't know why, but for some reason the japanese women can pull off the pigtails look better, or should I say twintails since that's what they call it over there.

Let's discuss about east asian lossless music distribution methods. I myself is currently focused for Japanese music and I am getting disappointed much because of unavailability of what I look for. I know,  people will say jps is the best place. But they are not. Bunch of fraud guys there uploads lossy to lossless transcodes. Their administration panel is somewhat reluctant to this. In my experience, mods are hobbyist and immature of musical taste. Furthermore there is a bad tradition of sharing flac files without eac documents. Reputed community like Red,Gcs,Apl,Wfl are strict about this. But they are nothing next to specialized on Japanese music, I don't expect either. My personal interest is classical jp music from last century, rare records and indie/alt bands . Hilarious enough jps waste money on silly girly groups. It is soul sickening. I am aware that Japanese themselves use p2p clients like pd,share,utatane, winny but none of them seems to be handy for music. I would really like to know if there's anything else.
For chinese music I heard about ocd. I will check them out soon. For now, I am less interested in kpop. But like to know about it. nyaa,bk,u2 has some music, but they are mostly anime related.  Let me know your thoughts and TIA

We need to make some noise and get people aware of this as it could be bad for everyone outside the US and Canada.
Knowing how this forum is hosted outside the US, our community could fall victim to this at any time.

We already have a few pre-requisites that could help getting this defeated once again
-The US president (Donald Trump as of the creation of the post) hates the TPP, so this could get international fanatics of the president to turn against it.
-There's currently a holocaust-like scenario in the Hollywood where many prolific people are being outed as sexual pests, making the fact that they're trying to get people canned from cyberspace for doing as little as looking up movie clips not sit well with many (TL;DR it should be a cakewalk to get the pedowood crowd on-board).

Quoting a anonymous 8chan user (ID 866ffd on 11/11/17) the anon summarized the bill in full as:

So what does everyone here think about Chester Bennington's death?
