I still haven't completed ff13

and they bring out a versus. What is the basis behind versus? why not ff14?

Well ff14 is already out, that could be why, but 13versus began development and wasnt released before FF14, so itd be a little silly to name FF14, FF15 instead and save that name for this one. And the basis behind versus I have no idea, I believe its just something to rival two different groups in Square Enix. Of course I could be wrong though.

Why a Square Enix multiplatform announcement is all but inevitable

Final Fantasy Versus XIII is coming to Xbox 360. Believe it. PlayStation's grasp on the glittering jewel of Japanese role-playing franchises has been gradually eroded over the past half-decade, with first Final Fantasy XIII then its sequel quietly exiting Sony's party. Versus XIII is supposedly the last bastion, the final defensive ring, but word on the ground says otherwise.

Whether in the form of a delayed port or a simultaneous release, you can expect this game on your Dashboard. Here's why:

1. The Versus team is hiring people with Xbox 360 credits

You can't argue with job listings, not when they quite clearly ask for experience on "an Xbox 360 package title". Thanks, Kotaku.

2. They'll sell more copies that way

Add two lots of 40-odd million players together, and you'll get more than 40-odd million players. Can't argue with maths either.

3. They'd sell more DLC that way

Final Fantasy XIII-2 will be the first Final Fantasy to get downloadable post-release content, including new enemies, weapons and costumes. There's no way that genie's going back in the bottle. Versus XIII will have DLC, then, and Xbox Live is the biggest digital platform on console. Join the dots.

4. Xbox 360 players are steeped in the Final Fantasy XIII universe

Close to two million Xbox 360 owners are now intimately acquainted with the worlds of Pulse and Cocoon, and there's another helping of shiny-coated fantasy brouhaha on the way to their living rooms. If Square Enix is serious about turning the thirteenth Final Fantasy into a decent sub-franchise, fencing off the next home format release makes no sense whatsoever. Versus XIII is, to be fair, a unique story, but it's set in the same universe. Expect more Crystals.

5. Crystal Tools is a multiplatform engine

Why go to all the trouble of making your fancy company-wide 3D technology compatible with several consoles if you're not going to develop multiplatform games?

6. Sony won't pay up to keep it exclusive

All's quiet on the next generation front, but you can bet your bottom [insert currency of preference here] that manufacturers are engaged in a hidden war over third party affections. What cash Sony has left after the expense of PS3's early period is probably set aside for the next-gen exclusivity throwdown. We doubt they're all that bothered about current gen's latecomers, proven mega-sellers like Call of Duty and Battlefield excepted.

Complete bull, utter truth or somewhere in between? Let us know.

Nice list, but I believe the main reason that it is going to Xbox360 as well (I own a PS3) is why not?

More sold copies = more dlc, etc

But you got to keep in mind that a fair number of those millions of xbox users are Halo / Call Of Duty / FPS exclusive users,

And another thing to keep in mind, no matter how you look at it, hardware wise PS3's are superior (as well as having blu-ray),

no matter what they do (like with 13 how they put the game in 3 discs) or put it into 1 and hope for the best (either way the game will be compressed, thus resulting in poorer graphics) Blu-Ray is superior and doesn't need to compressed that much (or at all)

So even if it is comming out on Xbox, they will not get the same experience as the PS3 users, (If you disagree with that statement, I am sorry but you are wrong)

That is complete bull, out of the options that say for what you think. Also, it has been confirmed that they will only be releasing it on the PS3. The Director says as much.

Also, to debunk that rumor:

Number 1 can be taken out, since they already announced that the 360 part was not because they were looking for someone who worked on the X360.

Number 2, that isn't necessarily true. For example, within the first week the PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIII-2 sold 600,000 and the X360 sold only about 250,000. That isn't even half. Also, it wouldn't justify redoing the game like the did with XII just for the X360 to have it. They would have to remove numerous things that can only be done on the PS3, so that the games are identical gameplay-wise, which is what they would want. That would also require a bigger budget and the X360 version wouldn't warrant it.

Number 3: Also not true. DLC is more random than selling of the actual game and harder to record sales for, which completely removes it from the equation.

Number 4: They hit hat one way off the mark. Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII take place in completely different worlds and the like. They are not similar in practically any way, except by their franchise name.

Number 5: Crystal Tools may be Multi-platform, but not all tools work with consoles other than the PS3. Crystal Tools can only use is full set of features with the PS3.

Number 6: Sony doesn't have to pay for it to be exclusive. With how bad the sales were for the X360 versio nof XII and XII-2, I doubt Microsoft would even want to pay to have them port it, but even then, the Director does NOT want it on the X360, due in part to what they had to do with XIII, among other things.

There just isn't even motivation for them to switch it to another multiplatform. They have also realized the series sells better when the initial release is on a single platform also, when it comes to FF.
