It seems that Kaido's men only defeated the Minks because they used Caesar's poison gas weapon to destroy the country, and while everyone was dying (as referenced when Wanda remarked they would have lost everyone if not for the courage and compassion of the Strawhats) it looks as if Sanji/Chopper made Caesar clean up the poison http://z.mfcdn.net/store/manga/106/79-795.0/compressed/h005.jpg so they could save them. And how the cat and dog rulers of this country (if I'm even remembering this right) fight in such situations. Plus their subordinates look just as cool. Plus more horribleness happened to the denizens of Zou, with half of the Straw Hats arriving just as those bad guys left. Hopefully we do get to the part where we see why Sanji took off when he did. Pekoms was happy his country was saved, but then gets shot in the back by Capone. And we see why Sanji's been gone for so long. Oh dear god this is gonna be a way bigger mess. A person who doesn't want to be the Pirate King only wants to be a strongest man like zoro wants to be the strongest swordsman in the world and Luffy wants to be pirate king.
