Anime: English Dub Vs Sub

I like dubs so I can enjoy the animation rather then being forced to look at the bottom portion of the screen but if no dub is available, I will watch shows subbed.

I only watch dubs because if I wanted to read subs I would just get the manga, I also find Japanese voices to be more grating on my ears.

Depends on the level of action in the anime, and whether or not the sub translation is any good.

Depends on the series. Like for instant a show like Digimon I actually perfer the dub,but say Ah My Goddess. I enjoy the sub better,because the japanese voice seem more emotional involved and younger.

I watch with dubs, but also turn on full subtitles. I like to get the full experience lol. Not that I read all the subs intently, but I can glance at them for a different perspective. Although I prefer the dubs, I'll watch good shows in subs when there is no dub for it.

Sub-only fanatics that constantly shoot down dubs piss me off. Dubs aren't nearly as bad as some people seem to think. It's not that they're less emotional or whatever, it's that they're styled more to typical English behaviour, which tends to be less excitable. Constantly keeping my eyes on the subs instead of the anime sux, and the frequent pausing or rewinding for some material..... no thanx.

I don't much like Sub only fanatics either, I can understand why they prefer it but dubs arent bad as long as they're done well and some subbed animes are terrible, the subs don't even make sense sometimes, happy that doesnt happen with any anime from here

I don't generally have a preference. I love watching dub because I can focus watching the anime rather than trying to focus reading the subtitles. There have been plenty of times I have preferred the subs instead because the voices were much better suited to the characters of the English voices. I really just take what I can get, cause me of the animes I have are only in sub, and that be just fine with me.

Almost all animes i watch are subs. I barely watch any dubbed. I don't mind having to read the subtitles

I don't really mind watching dubs or subs (I guess that's why I try to download Dual-Audio).

I find the dubs are helpful when you want to watch an anime but also do other stuff at the same time, which is basically always for me

On the other hand, the english voice's are sometimes terrible that I prefer the subbed version

I always go for the english dub first and if the english VA are bad , I would switch to sub right away.

Thats why i like dual audio a lot.Much thanks to the encoders.

I have no problem with english Dub's because compared to german ones the english are always superior But if it is not possible otherwise... i go for subs too

Personally i would go dubbed due to laziness

but sometimes dubbed makes the show seem somewhat retarded and then i'll switch to subbed.

But mostly whatever available or move on to manga if it's on going.

Always dubbed. Not because I'm to lazy to read instead.. just because I prefer not to have to if the choice is there. Whether the voice matches the character or not doesn't really matter either. Or rather, I find that even when I first start watching something and the initial voice/character match up is odd, after a little while it just gets normal. (: Dubbed is just more casual, at least for me.

i only really watch dubbed cause i don't like reading subtitles i would watch the Japanese versions if i could speak Japanese

You are absolutley right franko446. I prefer the dub because some times the subs are too long and i have to stop the video to read it.
