Jewell
I'd like to see Scotland make it alongside Italy, but that seems unlikely as France have a straightforward run-in.It would be weird if the World Champions didn't qualify for the Euro's. NRO
Greece won 2004, I'm not surprised by much anymore.
Juneau
Yeah that was the worst EC ever, Greece... most boring final in the history of the game...
Hypnotiq
Greece throughout the tournament didn't play that well, they just had one of those lucky streaks which got them through. Just that one goal then they played 11 men behind the the half way line.I think the best match from that tournament was Netherlands Vs Czech Republic. I could be wrong if i am thinking of another tournament/friendly.
Tenacious Lee
I remember the play-off to qualify for Euro 2004, when Scotland played Netherlands. First Leg. Jmes McFadden scores the winner, 1 - 0 we won, to get humped 6 - 0 away from home, My God that was a terrible game to watch.
NRO
For what it's worth, I'll give Greece some credit. All defensive play (literally), not a very good team, but still beat Portugal in there own country in a final.
Jewell
England lost 2-1 to Russia. The defeat now leaves England on the brink of failure, and even a home victory over Croatia next month won't be enough if Russia win their remaining two games, one of which is against pub side, Andorra. We need a massive favour from Israel or it's curtains for McClaren and his bunch of overpaid prima dona's. Hypnotiq
They had a dubious penalty given to Russia. Yes i know thats not an excuse but it seems no matter what coach takes over England, it is a hard task.
NRO
I would like England to go on. I love SWP that much.
Ronin
They had a dubious penalty given to Russia. Yes i know thats not an excuse but it seems no matter what coach takes over England, it is a hard task. That's only because the team isn't as good as everyone claims. Just because the players are good, it doesn't mean they work well as a team.England and Spain arguably have the best individual players in the world across the board, yet they rarely excel at international level. Ronin
If the FA don't sack Steve McClaren tomorrow, I think I will cry.
NRO
England has in my opinion the best coach in the world right now. Ronaldinho coming to Milan possibly?
