I don't use Windows Updates as I have the upgrade to Microsoft Updates. =P On the Windows Update page it asks you if you want to upgrade. Anyhow, I have all updates and I'm not having that problem. So it has to be something else that caused it. Maybe you installed something else recently.. or have been infected with a virus. If a system restore isn't working, and you are still having problems.. I honestly don't know what to tell you.
I don't think it is a virus. Vista did this all the time and I had to restart the computer. Win7 Still does it occasionally but M-Soft built in a restart (most of the time it crashed when I tried to encode to MKV format no matter what program I use).

my friend was able to play his burned games without modding his fat ps2, i dont remember much but he patched his burned game with some patch, did something to his memory card, and put a file on his flash drive, sorry i dont remember more. try google and see what you can find out

This way is called McBoot. you use a mem32 memory card to flash an original ps2 memory card and then flash the ps2. this way opens the ps2 to homebrew and that is where ESR comes in. use this to play copied games.

Question: How would I go about posting an anime series?
-
Last survey I read on the matter tested 5,000 consoles for 6 months of each one.
360 had a 54.6% rate of breaking.
PS3 had something like 7%.
Wii had less than 1%.
I honestly can't bring myself to pay that kind of money on a 360 if it has a better chance of breaking in the first six months then it does lasting through the first 6 months.. >_<
As for the PS3.. I want to see them bring back backwards compatibility before I get one for the price they are selling them for.
As for the Wii.. it's the only one I have purchased because it was cheap, had backwards compatibility, and has a very low rate of something breaking. Now I just can't wait till this summer when what seems to be promising for RPG's on the Wii such as Arc Rise Fantasia.
Thanks Koby for the numbers. I was trying to find them but couldn't.
PS3,PS3,PS3!

In my humble opinion Microsoft has really dropped the ball with its recent actions. When the 360 first came out over half were rrod out of box. I think Koby knows what I mean. Sony on the other hand has really outdone themselves with the ps3 (although I think they should have kept the backwards compatibility). I'm not tying to rant on Microsoft, but if they want to get in to the video game stream they should try better.
on the note of the topic, I would choose ps3.

You might need to the xclamp fix. I posted a thread about it awhile ago. try that, its worth a shot. should only cost you around $15 to do that fix. make sure there is no dust in the heat sinks also. the system could be over heating.
the x-clamp fix is only for fixing the cpu or gpu which is the rrod.
since it is A/V problem, drilling holes in the motherboard is not the answer.

Fixed the link.. and it was the black screws in the vid that showed how to open it.
*update* wow.. dunno what happened but it's working now. xD
*update 2* ok its not working again... but now its to top 2 lights blinkin red.. and nothing is showing in the screen.
Xbox 360's arelike that.

the link to the youtube Video is not working.
And what 8 black screws? Are you into the metal case or not?
-
Yeah I watched a youtube video to do it.. and well now I'm stuck on the 8 tiny screws.. I don't have anything to fit them... :/ Whats worse is I had to break the microsoft warranty seal to get this far, although I doubt the warranty was still in effect.. it would really suck if it was.. :/
You will need a size 10 and size 8 security trox bits for the screws. Size 10 for the main case screws and size 8 for the three little ones on the front. You can find these bits in a precision screwdriver set. The ones that look like stars.

My 360 goes rrod every few months, so I have to open it up reset the GPU heat sink.

you dont need to take out the three small screws to open the case, but if you want to take out the motherboard you have to.
