  1. Can either be Light or L from Death Note, depending on you definitions of "Bad Guy".
  2. I can see how someone could like the FMA series but not Conqueror of Shamballa. It had a different feel to it. That said, I loved it. The fight between Wrath and Gluttony alone was worth sitting through it. Also - I rewatched through the video to verify that Ed still had the automail arm to see where it landed on the timeline. Lol at not noticing Al in the armour. D'oh.
  3. Haha, the second example in the OP was my first pick. The entire episode is one of the tensest moments in any anime I've ever seen. The face-to-face challenge for Light is such a huge switch from the distant mind games Light has been playing with L, and the conflicting sympathies it inspires in the viewer is truly a masterpiece. Awesome. My second choice is where Kenshin learns the final technique from Hiko in Rurouni Kenshin. Watching Hiko fall into the water was one of two or so scenes that ever gave me an actual sadness in an anime. The good kind. It was amazing.
  4. I used Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal. It's a completely serious side of anime that people don't tend to see, especially since if by chance they have seen the series that goes with it, which was aired on Toonami back in the day, it was much less mature (lots of fighting but no killing). The only downside to using this is that the you can't appreciate the violence of the main character without having first seen him as the pacifist he is in the main series. However, since its a prequel, it works pretty well. Lastly, its a movie, which is easier to get someone to sit down and watch.
  5. Top 5 is tough...if I had to choose, and in no particular order Death Note Fullmetal Alchemist (plus Brotherhood) Rurouni Kenshin Tenchi Muyo! (plus all the other Tenchi series) Outlaw Star
