  1. I don't think it has a queue, and I've got no idea why. Doesn't seem to have been updated in a while either. I did see your question on Doom9, so hopefully you'll get an answer there. You could try My MP4Box GUI. It shows a queue button in the screenshot, but I've never actually used the program myself. Both are just a gui for mp4box, so you could also try learning the command line.
  2. I think Carl is going to become a total bad ass now. I also liked how they did the flashback of the talk Rick had with him in the barn. You can see how he's starting to except this new world he's forced to grow up in. It was sad that T-Dog had to die, he was just about to finally get a buddy. At least he didn't die like a bitch, like Dale did. I'd also like to know how they're going to feed a baby without a lactating female. Kind of doubt the prison will be of much help. Can't see a crying baby being anything other then a zombie magnet.
  3. I may pick up a copy of this when I finally build a new computer sometime next year. It depends on whether or not win 7 is still being sold, and how much ram the new motherboard supports. How well ubuntu supports steam will also play a factor. If I get the option to ditch windows once and for all, I will gladly do so. I will not be upgrading my current pc to win 8. I see no reason to downgrade my desktop for hardware improvements my current pc couldn't even utilize.
  4. I would use mediainfo to see how the file was encoded before you convert or remux it. Hardware like the PS3 doesn't support every setting that h.264 video can be encoded with. I believe settings like profile, level, and reference frames will be the biggest problem. You can use mediainfo to see what settings were used to encode the video. Then check to see if your hardware (PS3, Android device, etc..) supports those settings. If it does, then remux the file like Koby mentioned above. You should be able to drag an mkv directly into Yamb without needing to demux it first. Yamb doesn't support .ass subtitles, so if you need those you'll have to convert them to srt/ttxt. If you find that the video was encoded with settings your hardware doesn't support. You'll have to use something like Handbrake to re-encode the video with settings your hardware does support. Handbrake is a really good tool for video that doesn't require any filtering (denoising, deinterlacing, sharpening, etc..). If you do need to filter the video, then you'd be much better off trying to learn avisynth scripting than relying on handbrake to do.
  5. So I was watching the latest episode of Tekzilla today, and then they mentioned this blogg post. Amazon apparently decided to delete some women's account, and all her purchased books along with it. To make matters worse, they never actually told her what she did wrong. They just fed her a bunch of BS and told her good luck finding someone else. While the blogg post isn't entirely accurate, it seems the kindle was already broken, they did delete her account. Tekzilla hinted at the reason being due to her bouncing her ip address. She was apparently trying to gain access to books she couldn't get in Norway. Even if that is the case, I still don't see justification in deleting her account. What do you guys think of this? It seems to be yet another example of how big business is ruining the internet. I would definitely back up your ebooks after buying them. It would've saved this women a lot of money. You can find the Tekzilla video here. The part about Amazon starts around 3:30. Also, sorry if this is in the wrong place. Thought that since it had to do with ebooks/readers and internet purchases, that this would be the better place.
  6. Would it be possible to create a kametsu wiki that's tied to the main site. You wouldn't have to worry about being limited to BBCode, and you could also use it for more detailed guides. Then you could just link to the wiki where it's needed. Would it also be possible to have a single log in for all of kametsu. So when you log in to the forum you're also logged in to Kametsu.com as well. Edit: any chance of adding the ability to change member titles. I looked and can't seem to find it anywhere.
  7. Do you know what OS you're going to use yet? I don't think you need hardware RAID if you're planning on using FreeNAS. It supports ZFS which has it's own built in version of RAID. I think I'd pick your OS first, and then design your NAS around it based on what features the OS supports. to a video on FreeNAS. Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to just add it to the post.
  8. Use Hexchat, and read the threads linked here. It should be all you need. Edit: If you're not on faildows then just use XChat itself.
  9. I would check out this thread, specifically #11-13. You may not be encoding it into a format the vita supports. As for what tools to use, I would use MeGUI + Avisynth for raw content. It's hard to learn, but it's the best way to de-interlace video. Handbrake should work fine if it's already been encoded before, or is already progressive. It's alot easier then learning avisynth.
  10. No, I was referring to the unofficial. I think it was his thread on doom9, but I can't remember for sure. It had people referring to it as a hack job, and that the official was more stable. If your not having that many problems with it, I may just upgrade to it. Is it the 2.6 or 2.5.8 that you use.
  11. Does this mean you use the unofficial version of Avisynth that SET created, or does the MT filter support SetMTMode as well? I'd also like to know if you're getting more crashes when you use mt. I've read in threads that it's not as stable as running without it. @Odeiux - Thanks for sharing this. I might have to start playing with this then. Would also like to warn you about awarpsharp. If you look at some of your preview screens when using the filter. You will see some of your lines getting clipped when they cross or meet other lines. I would notice it sometimes in the hair of anime characters. I don't think it's anything you would notice while the video is playing, but it bothered me enough to stop using it.
  12. Are you wrapping the whole script in one mt(), or are you using more then one?
  13. I think the 2 warpsharps, vmtoon, and dehalo_alpha are the ones slowing your script down. I don't think they support multi-threading by themselves. You could switch vmtoon for toonlite, it's suppose to be a newer/faster version. Dehalo_alpha is suppose to get faster if you use ss=1. I'm not really sure about warpsharp, but I noticed every time I add it to a script. It would suddenly get a lot slower. The link that JohnFlower gave should help with this. I haven't tried the version SET created yet, or the mt() filter. If you do figure it out and get it working. I wouldn't mind hearing about it.
  14. It may help to find out what the vita supports. If it only support High 3.2, and you're feeding it Hi10p 4.1. Then I doubt the container used will matter. You also might want to check on the number of reference frames. I believe some hardware is limited in this area as well.
  15. I had something similar to this happen to me while I worked at Wal-Mart, and I would "Strongly" urge you to look out for what Rikuo said. They could replace you in less then a day and would take no issue in doing so. Personally, I would take a hybrid approach. Give up on it being gf/bf and just try to be friends with her. I would give it another month or two before you even try that though. It sounds to me like you're asking advice from multiple co-workers about what you should do in regards to this girl. That really isn't a good idea. She is most likely hearing about at least some of these conversations, and this will only leave her with the opinion that you're obsessed with her. You should cut off all discussion of her with anyone you work with except for maybe the Chris person. I would try to expand your friendship with Chris, and not just to get closer to her. He seems to be willing to stick his neck out for you with a friend he's known a lot longer. Sounds like a damn good friend in my book. Don't ask about her all time when you're with him either, it will just make him feel used. If he really is close to her, then the better friends the two you become will likely make her more willing to let you back in. When/if that time every comes, she will more then likely let you know. Just don't be an idiot and miss the signal. If you do get another chance, start slow. Try to set up group activities with people that both of you get along with. Something that involves more then just you, her, and Chris. Try to make her feel like just another person in the group, while also becoming closer friends with her. Then just slowly whittle the group down until she is comfortable with it being just the two of you. If that day never comes, then it isn't meant to be. Except the two friends you made out of it and move on. I wouldn't pass on other opportunities that come alone either. If another girl you like comes alone, give her a chance. You might find that you're over the other one. You're still young, don't allow yourself to get stuck on one girl. If you do, you'll likely miss out on a lot of others you never even knew you had a chance with.
  16. I noticed this at the top of ShanaProject's site, and would like to know if Kametsu will be taking part in The Internet Defense League. Would be nice to support it, but it could bring unwanted attention to Kametsu. Wondering what other people are thinking about this as well. Sorry if it's in the wrong place, but I didn't really know where to put it.
  17. If the drives in the labtops are both sata. You should at least be able to use them in the desktop. I wouldn't use them as every day drives, but they could serve as non-connected backups of your os. Just use a backup tool like clonezilla after you get everything the way you want it. Then back it up to one of the labtop drives (if they're large enough). Once that's finished, you can just disconnect it from your PC and leave it till it's needed again. You'll need an adapter to make it fit your case, but you'll also need that for your SSD drive (unless it comes with one). How long are you wanting this PC to last? If it's only for a few years, I would go for specs like dark4yoyo mentioned. If it's to last as long as possible. Then I'd go with something similar to what ballard mentioned. I would personally swap the heatsink for something like the Corsair H60 Liquid CPU Cooler. I would also prefer this, or this for a case. The heatsink and case are just my own personal opinions though. Also have to say that I don't really agree with the Rampage mobo. If your going to go all out, you may want to take a look at the ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77. It's a larger board and offers better placement of the pci cards. Not sure about the "thermal armor" idea, seems a bit gimmicky to me, but it offers more sata connecters then you'll ever need.
  18. Just wondering if you're still planning on releasing the scripts from above. I wouldn't mind seeing the filters you're using, but it's not a big deal if they're not ready.
  19. I only played with RockMelt for a few minutes, but it didn't seem to behave any differently from the other chromium based browsers. I passed over it because I really have no use for the social media features it offers. I use Comodo's Dragon browser now. The way it upgrades totally sucks, so I've thought about trying SRWare Iron instead. Other then the upgrade fail, Dragon is a really nice browser. I'm not a fan with what Google is now trying to do either. I believe the spying is "suppose" to only take place when you're using Chrome while logged into your Google account. The stuff you type into the omnibox is sent to google however. You are "suppose" to be able to turn this off in the advanced settings, but I lack the skills to really know how much google really gets from Chrome. I would like to think if their spying was really as bad as people are trying to make it out to be. That there would be a much bigger stink going on about it. My problem with Firefox is their decision to drop their development of a sandboxing feature. They seem to be content with relying on extensions for added security, and I don't really care for that strategy. The extensions you install on firefox can easily spy on you, even if firefox doesn't. There is also no guarantee that they won't do something you don't want them to. NoScript is a great example of this, because it pops up ads when it updates. When Adblock Plus attempted to do it's job and block those ads. The people behind NoScript did there best to circumvent it. This was what finally got me to move away from Firefox. Yes, I know Chromium isn't hacker proof, no browser is. Browsers that offer sandboxing at least make the task a little harder then those that don't. I also think being butthurt over google spying on you, but not being butthurt when facebook, microsoft, amazon, and pretty much every other major internet company spy on you, is also a bit hypocritical. They're all pimps that treat our private information like cheap whores. Google is just doing there best to be the top pimp. If you don't want to be spied on, you should stay off the internet. Edit: Want to add something about whats below The reason Chrome, or any Chromium browser, uses more ram is due to the way it handles tabs. They open the tabs in a different process from the rest of the browser. While this does take up more ram, it has its purpose. When a tab in firefox hijacks your browser leaving you unable to close it. You have no choice but to kill the entire program. Doing this may cause you to lose other important tabs you didn't have bookmarked yet. This doesn't happen in Chrome. All you have to do is open chrome's task manager, and kill the tab process. Then just close out that one bad tab. There is no need to kill the entire browser because they are not in the same process. That is the beauty of separating them all out like this. Yes, it does take a lot of ram, but computers are only going to get more powerful. Google seems to understand this, but I have no idea what the Firefox devs are thinking. This is at least one area where I can recommend not using Chrome (unless it's changed since I last used it). That is because Chrome combines all its tabs into one process, causing you to kill them all together. You can still refresh the non-hijacking tabs and get them back, but you have to wait for them to refresh first. The other chromium browsers separate each tab, so you only ever have to kill that one bad tab. I hate sounding like a Google fanboy, but they do have the better browser. At least imo, but if you have the ram. I'd use one of the other chromium based browsers.
  20. If you're not sure what the files bit depth is, download and install MediaInfo. It will tell you pretty much everything about the video file you use it on, including the bit depth. Putting a check mark next to the explorer extension on installation, will give you popup info on the files you hover your mouse over.
  21. I just updated to Eden 11.0, and while I was there I checked on the 10bit issue. It seems they have added 10bit support to the nightly builds, so you may be able to try that as well. Should be noted that nightly builds will be unstable.
  22. The reason XBMC won't play the files correctly is because it doesn't support 10bit video yet. You could try replacing the default player with DSPlayer, it's an alternative player for XBMC. You can also use external players, but I don't think they work seamlessly with the XBMC interface. Another media center program you could try is MediaPortal. I believe it's suppose to support codec packs like CCCP, but I've never tried it myself.
  23. I gave up on ATI and Catalyst a while ago, so I'm not sure if this will be of any help. Some programs seem to require the full version of .net instead of the client version that comes default. Had this problem a while back, think it was with comicrack but can't remember for sure. It would only run when I had the full version of .net installed. Problem was the full version seemed to brake other software like aegisub. Don't really know why this was, or if it's been fixed yet. I just gave up on comicrack.
  24. Are you sure someone wasn't leeching off your wireless router? WEP is pretty easy to crack. That could explain the boost in speed.
  25. You didn't say what your source is, but this can be done easily with avisynth. You'll also need either MeGUI or x264,mkvtoolnix,and mp4box. You'll need to demux and/or index the video before you encode it. An avisynth script could be as easy as below. LoadPlugin("x:\path\ffms2.dll") FFVideoSource("x:\path\source.vid") Crop(x,x,x,x) Lanczos4Resize(480,272) #Spline64Resize(480,272) You don't need Lanczos4Resize and Spline64Resize, because they both do the same thing. I just included both because they are probably the two best filters you could use for downsizing video in avisynth. The LoadPlugin line is for loading ffms2.dll which is needed for FFVideoSource. You may be able to leave out the LoadPlugin part if you have the ffms2.dll in your avisynth's plugin folder. This will only re-encode the video, so I would only do this if the video you already have is not compatible with the psp. I'm not sure what settings in x264 the psp is compatible with, so you'll probably need to look that up. If your video is already compatible with the psp. I would demux the file with mkvextract, if it's mkv, and then remux with mp4box. An easier way to do this, if the video is compatible, would be to just use yamb to remux the mkv straight to mp4. Mkvtoolnix, mp4box, and yamb should all give you the abilty to choose what audio and subtitles you keep. The script isn't complete as it is either. You'll still need to input the correct path for both ffms2.dll and FFVideoSource. Correct parameters for the crop filter will also need to be added.
