I love the water. I was a lifeguard/swimteacher for 6yrs and I taught lifeguard training for 2yrs. The only time I take issue to being in water is when I'm in the ocean and the water is to murky to see my feet. I know to much about sharks to ever be ok with that situation.

Does what your seeing look anything like below? It should look worse but photobucket won't let me upload the image in the 1440x900 resolution it should be in. I've been having this problem ever since I updated to the 10bit version of MPC-HC. It does this every time I go into fullscreen. I don't believe it's a CCCP issue, because it doesn't do this when I play the video with WMP. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling both MPC and CCCP, but neither helped. I even tried running ccleaner in safe mode to try and make sure I cleaned everything out before reinstalling, but the problem always returns.

If you're just planning on throwing it away. I would first try to see if you could solder a new molex connector on to it. It seems harder then it really is. I did something similar last year when I installed a replacement plug in my PSU. The worse that could happen is you break an already broken device. If you succeed, you not only learn something but gain a spare cooler as well. I'm not sure where you could buy the wires and molex connector in the UK, but any place that sells pc modding supplies should have everything you need to attempt to salvage the cooler. -
The movie is 51 minutes so it might be hard to get it under 350mb, but I'll try to get it as close to that as I can.

I have both the series and the movie for Zone of the Enders. I'll work on trying to get the movie back up, but I'm not sure about the series. That will take forever to encode and upload. There use to be several versions here until the whole MU takedown. You could try making a request for it and seeing if anyone that downloaded the already encoded version would re-upload them. My computer is pretty old so the encoding time on an entire series would be very slow. As for Dual I'm afraid I can't help you there. I'm not even sure if it was even hosted here. I watched it long ago when it aired on G4. You could try requesting that one as well. Since I'll be re-encoding the Z.O.E. movie, is there any size limit you would like it be? Do you want both English and Japanese audio?

This thread does not exist to keep you informed of the latest release of VLC, but instead for the discussion of the one mentioned below. You can bring up and discuss newer releases if you wish. Just don't expect me to update the status here. VideoLAN has released the 2.x.x version of vlc, and it's suppose to have much better playback. Noted improvements are: Multi-threaded decoding Improved HD playback Improved Subtitle rendering Improved Segment Linking (sort of) Experimental support for BluRay discs 10bit support Debanding filter Cons: My biggest upset with this new version is still the font cache. It's really disappointing to see such a major improvement without this problem really being addressed. There is also a noticeable brake in video between linked segments. The green loading bar is hard to miss. I haven't had enough time to make up my mind about this newest version, but there does seem to be a lot of work that has been put into it. I just wish they could find a way to keep people from having to wait a minute or two for the font cache to be rebuilt when watching something that has odd fonts. Hiding the green loading bar when watching linked segments would go a long way towards hiding the brake as well They seem to actually be hiding it now. You will still notice the brake if you look for it. Edit: [7-11-12] VLC now has a beta version that supports android os.

There is an actual bubblegum crisis anime that you could watch, and if you enjoy it there is also A.D. Police that takes place in the same city. Some Mecha animes I would recommend are Vandread, Strain, Zone of the Enders, Mars Daybreak, IGPX, and Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure. Flag, Blue Gender, and Appleseed are other good animes that have mechs in them. Some good non-mecha animes are Last Exile, Tactics, Read or Die, Gunslinger Girls, Moribito, Area 88, Samurai Champloo, Planetes, and Outlaw Star.

I would also have to recommend MeGUI. It will require you to have avisynth installed as well. Avisynth has some filters that can be used to help in compressing video, but the most compression will come from denoising. You'll just have to make sure you don't destroy all the fine detail. Handbrake is also a good option, but you'll be very limited on what you can do with the video. I would only use it if you're looking for a simple encoder or have a really good source you want to shrink in size. Another encoder you could look at in BENCOS. I don't have any experience with this encoder but I've seen it mentioned on several other forums.

It isn't marked very well so you have to read the descriptions, but what you are looking for is the SeeD Hallway. This will mostly likely be moved there once a mod finds this so there probably isn't a need to post another. Anyways welcome to the forums.

What should be done about Iran and their insistence on pursuing nuclear technology? Do they have a right to pursue nuclear technology? If war between Israel and Iran breaks out, should the west get involved as well? What should happen if Iran decides to block the Strait of Hormuz? I don't really have a problem with a democratic Iran pursuing nuclear technology, but not when it's being led by a man that intends to destroy Israel at all cost. As far as what should be done about it, I think a continuation of what is currently being done should proceed until it is obvious they are pursuing nuclear arms. Then I think the western world would have no choice but to take action. If a war between Israel and Iran starts I think the western world should stay out of it as long as it stays between Israel and Iran, I doubt that would happen though. If Iran attempts to block the Strait of Hormuz I think the US (and hopefully other nations) should destroy Iran's total capacity to make war. I don't think they should occupy Iran like we did Iraq, but instead allow the Iranian resistance to pursue freedom themselves. Since Iran's military will already be destroyed the resistance should be able to stand on near equal terms with the remaining Iranian military.

What do you think should be done about Assad's assault on his people, if anything should be done at all? Should it be a coalition of nations, and if so who should lead it? What about the Russian and Chinese support for Assad, should it be allowed to interfere in any action being taken? I personally think something does need to be done about Assad, but I don't think it should be on the US to do all the heavy lifting. I think something similar to Libya should take place, but I think it should be led by a middle eastern country like Turkey. With Turkey setting in the lead it would hopefully stop Russia from interfering since they wouldn't want their actions against the Turkish led coalition to upset Turkish populations that reside in the countries that border Russia.

The most I've spent at one time would have to be the down payment on my old truck. The car I had before was totaled when I hit a deer and since it was already paid off I was able to put all the insurance money into the truck with some money from my own savings.

I guess at this point and time I'm going to have to give my vote to Ron Paul. I'm fairly sure he won't make it to the general election, but I really do think the country needs a politician that actually lets the people know where he stands. Come general election time I'm sure I'll have no choice but to vote for Obama, but I'm afraid if he wins another election we'll see huge changes to the internet. I'm also afraid of what other rights he may decide to step on by abusing his powers to take actions without going through congressional approval first. I do have to give him some credit, because I did like how he handled Libya and Bin Laden even though Libya wasn't approved by congress either.

I'm beginning to wonder if this current push against piracy isn't an attempt by the Democrats to earn themselves some major support from the Hollywood crowd. I'm sure they're well aware of the onslaught that the Republicans and Wall Street crowd are amassing to assure Obama's one term Presidency. Nothing loosens the wallets of Hollywood more then the overwhelming power to sue the piss out of people.

Sorry about bringing back such in old thread, but I thought I would remind everyone that part 2 of season 2 starts tonight. Anyone who isn't up to date on the eps may be able to catch up, because AMC seems to be running a marathon of all the season 2 eps later today.

He’s an idiot because he didn’t have enough functioning grey matter to figure out that a decade after 9/11 the US gov would have the ability to detect key words like “destroy America”. You talk over and over again about the DHS’s need for common sense, but what about Van Bryan’s need for common sense. Typing that you are going to ruin/destroy an attractive US politician shouldn’t be enough to get a foreigner in trouble. However, it would get you noticed because it’s sexual harassment. Typing that when you have a trip to the US already planned is an entirely different matter. That is when your own common sense should kick in to keep you out of trouble, his didn’t. There are a lot of different ways to express yourself. Just don’t use the stupid ones and you should be fine. I would recommend a different phrase like, “I’d so tap that ass”. You'll still be a pervert, but you'll only have to worry about being treated as a pervert when you arrive on US soil. I would imagine the DHS has all kinds of bots that are programmed to troll every inch of the internet. The “destroy America” tweet was most likely strike one. When the bot searched his other tweets and found the Marilyn Monroe one, it became strike two. Another bot probably hunted down the identity of the twitter accounts owner, and then proceeded to find out everything it could about him. When it found that he also happened to be in the possession of an airline ticket to America, it became strike three. I don’t know for a fact that the gov has systems like this, but seeing they have high tech stealth drones that can practically fly themselves. I’m sure they could russell up some AI powered bots to troll the internet. The key you insist on skipping over is that he obviously had already bought his ticket. That’s the difference between him being a fail comedian and a total asshat. The DHS just doesn’t scan for terrorist in the sense that normal people would picture either. They also look for people like the one that shot Gabby Giffords. The DHS’s job is to protect Americans from all threats, not just the ones the terrorist pose. Don’t think that being typed into a public social media network makes any difference either. Crazy people, will at times, announce the attack they are about to commit as a way of taunting the authorities. I’m also sure the pair was less then cooperative, so they may have sent them home just for being dicks. That is totally in the realm of possibilities when dealing with the TSA Nazis. Ahahahahaha, they didn’t charge/convict him of anything. The UK however, did charge and convict Paul Chambers. I think you’re bitching about the wrong country on that one. They don’t have to have a terrorist or other threat reason to not allow him admission either. I imagine they thought someone from the UK who isn’t smart enough to figure out that Americans don’t know or even care to know UK slang might be a huge danger to himself. Probably thought about the disaster that would occur when he walks into a crowded LA club and screams out, “I’m gonna destroy this place”. Like all the ameri-haters love to say, “We have guns, and we like to use them”. It could also be the DHS just didn’t want to risk him causing trouble since he made it quite clear he was only here to party his ass off. Is it hard to believe that the DHS wouldn’t want some drunken tourist causing trouble? If he wanted to party, he should of waited two months and flew to Cancun. They welcome that kind of crap there. You can beat this till you’re blue in the face, but it isn’t going to change anything. He was plenty old enough to know better. He just chose not to think. You can blame America all you want, but it isn’t our job or our govs job to know the meaning of your slang. Seeing that Paul Chambers was convicted and fined for his stupidity, then fined again when he lost the appeal, Van Bryan was more than lucky to just be sent home. I highly doubt his tweets were the only reason he was denied admission. He just isn’t going to share those reasons. He’s too busy enjoying the 15mins of fame the ameri-hating propaganda machine is giving him. The DHS isn’t talking about it because they probably know that most Americans won’t give a shit either way. I don’t even remember a single news outlet covering this story. Did you bother to read the last paragraph of that report, or did you just read the parts that pertain to your argument? It is well known, or at least should be, that terrorists are using the same kinds of encryptions and programs that pirates use. They use them to hide their communications from the US scanners. The report doesn’t say they‘re all terrorists, just says that people using this technology could possibly be a terrorist. It’s like cops informing their fellow officers to be on the lookout for a blue van. Does it mean all blue vans are a fleeing child pedophile? No it doesn’t, it just means that somewhere in the mix there is at least one. If gives them something to look for to make finding the guilty parties easier.

Glad to see you like the new laptop. I think you also bought the last one, because I just checked the link and now it is no longer available. Is the battery life in issue at all?

If you just want to rip the contents of the DVDs to your HDD you could also try DVDFab. It has a free version included in the trial version. It's the last option in the first pop up you get when you run the program.

You should also be able to use MPC-HC to find the correct delay. Then you would only have to mux it once.

@ Alegend1994 I managed to make my case in this debate without the need of insulting any of the other posters, so I would really appreciate it if you would extend me the same courtesy. I am well aware of the fact that the US is not the only target of terrorism. I am not aware of it being the job of the DHS to protect all of those other nations as well. That is why I didn’t feel the need to mention it in my post. I am also not a racist. Any of the slew of racist Americans wouldn’t have referred to people from that region of the world as Arabian descent. They would have called them Terrorists, Muslim Terrorist(s), or the Muslim Threat. I mentioned the part about it being worse if he had been of Arabian descent, because it really would have been a lot worse. People from that region are screened far more than those from any other ethnicity, and it is entirely because of 9/11. Is it fair? Hell no it isn’t fair, but it is the way it is. Don’t think for one second that your country doesn’t do the same damn thing. You may not have the evil TSA Nazis, but your country still screens Muslims equally as harsh in their own way. I have to be honest, I never served in the military because of a bad knee. However, I don’t remember any of my friends that did serve talking about learning how to hijack planes and crash them into buildings. Bin Laden was butthurt because Kuwait told him "no thanks" when he offered his army to help them evict Iraq during start of the Persian Gulf War. Instead they took the first Bush’s offer and Bin Laden swore revenge against the Western World for it. While we did supply weapons and training to them in the '80s. It was to help them protect themselves from Russia. Saying we deserve to be attacked because we taught them how to defend themselves is a very fail way of thinking. We were attacked because Bin Laden got butthurt, that's all there is to it. You don’t know the first thing about me, so don’t blindly assume that I’m a brainwashed American just because I don’t feel sorry for some retard who should have known better. There are a crap load of things about this country that really really piss me off, but this is most definitely not one of them. I would also like to point out that people who live in glass houses shouldn’t through stones. Try looking up Paul Chambers. My good buddy Paul did a very similar thing in England two years ago. Said on twitter he wanted to blow up an airport, but insisted he was only joking. He just wanted to have some fun with his friend, that’s all. Paul was from the UK as well. He was also one year older then Mr. Van Bryan. What’s the big difference you ask? Well, my buddy Paul was charged and fined £2,984 for being a retard, while good ole Van Bryan walked away with a slap on the wrist. I guess it would be nice if the US government could be more like the UK. Then Van Bryan would still be setting in a jail cell awaiting his trial. It would have saved him the embarrassment of being caught on camera as a 26yr old man with a Justin Bieber hair cut. I also loved how unbelievably staged those photos were. Everything about this is complete bs. The DHS wasn't 100% sure that he wasn't going to do something that would only come back to bite them in the ass, so they sent him packing. That's their job, and they did a damn fine job of it. They got the message across, (don't be a retard on the internet) without being to harsh. Here is a few more links for anyone that is interested. Note that the BBC is the only one that even bothers to mention Paul Chambers. The Sun Daily Mail BBC

XChat-WDK and the Chatzilla plugin for Firefox are both free. You should be able to get started with either of them. -
Ok, the GOP is heating up and Barack is beginning his own campaign. So my question is, which turd in the pile most strikes your fancy at this point in the election year? I'm not going to get into describing my own personal opinions of the five still in this race (six if you really want to count Roseanne, which I don't), because I know not every american follows politics as much as they should. I would like to at least encourage those who don't follow politics to look into their options. It would be nice if Americans got back to picking their own politicians instead of letting the media do it for them. I'm also aware that not every member is from the US, but I see no reason why you can't express your opinions in this debate as well. You never know, our next president could change the way we interact with other nations. There is at least one candidate I know of that falls into this category. As for my current choice right now, I'm not really sure. I know that's a cheap answer, but I would really like to see a debate between Ron Paul and Barack Obama before I really make a choice. I really don't like the idea of having to vote for Barack just to keep Romney out. Hell, the fact I'm even willing to vote for Barack would show some just how not into a Romney Presidency I am.

I guess I'm just an evil american, because I'm glad they sent this kid packing. What people don't understand is when a tweet like this pops up on the DHS' mainframe, they have to look into it. Even if it's just to make sure it's not a threat. That means people have to waste their time and resources, all because some stupid punk wants to see if he can earn a spot on the US no fly list. This means they're not doing their real job of keeping people like myself safe from the real terrorist. On top of all that, it's a damn election year. Very important political figures are traveling all over the nation intermingling with the locals to try and win votes. The DHS has to scan the entire internet looking for the hints and clues they need to prevent another 9/11, and now they also have the impossible task of making sure there isn't some butthurt kid who's decided he wants to take out a politician. They don't have the time to spend messing with stupid little assholes like this kid. He is just damn lucky he was from the UK and not of Arabian descent. Seriously, how much brain damage does a person need to think typing "I'm going to destroy America", into a publicly viewed social media network. Then hop on a plane to America and say to themselves, "that was hilarious".

It's similar to Chrome because they both use the opensource chromium code. Dragon is suppose to be Comodo's attempt at a safer and less intrusive version of Chrome. There are others doing this as well, but so far Chrome, Chromium, and Dragon are the only ones I've tried. The others I know about are Rockmelt, and SRWare Iron. Dragon does seem like a decent option for someone who is to lazy to compile Chromium and also wanting something other then Firefox.

Handbrake is a good encoder for beginners, but if you want higher quality video you'll want to go with a more advanced encoder. This topic has also been covered a lot on this forum, if you do a search you should be able to find a lot of threads about encoding. I guess there'll need to be sticky at some point to cut down on this question being asked so much. Depends on who is encoding it really. Some people will upscale DVD video into HD resolutions. If there is a Japanese HD release however, it is most likely that release with the english DVD audio dubbed to it. This is what you would get if you dl something from OZC-Anime. The guide you linked to does seem a bit dated, and some of those programs are no longer maintained. They could be buggy, or in the case of DVD Decryptor it won't decrypt some of the newer encryptions being used on some newer DVD releases. I made an updated list below. DVDFab Avisynth + filters AvsPmod MeGUI or RipBot264 or StaxRip Aegisub MKVmerge or MP4Box MeGUI is an entire suite of different programs. You could skip AvsPmod if you use it, because it has it's own script creator. I personally prefer AvsPmod though, so I use it anyways. Scintilla's Guide is a good place to get some info on different filters for avisynth. Doom9 and VideoHelp should be a couple good places to find guides/info on encoding. Both have good forums that you can search through for tips or help as well.
