I don't think it's actually part of their DNA itself, but something more like the flu. Highly contagious, but affects people in different ways. In one group, the people on the highway, it killed off without turning; but only after giving them a little time to spread it first. In another smaller group, it mutated and became the walker virus. The last group had a strong enough immune system to fight off the first wave, and then developed a limited immunity to the more deadlier walker version. I think when these people come in contact, or maybe even close proximity with walkers. They contract the zombie virus and turn into walkers when they die. I still haven't convinced myself of all this yet, and the water theory sounds pretty plausible as well. Problem I have with that theory is that it doesn't explain the people on the highway. How did they die, and why didn't they turn? They didn't seem to have any wounds, so what could of killed them while they were still setting in their cars. I think if it is airborne, then there may be a group that's not infected with any form of the virus yet. I also like how they haven't explained how the infection works yet. Half the fun of this show is trying to figure out what's going to happen next, and how all these people are getting infected in the first place.

Thanks for the info, I might just start reading the comic after this season is over with. That is pretty cool that he is taking the show in a different direction from the comic. That way people that already read the comic can still be surprised every once in while.

To be honest this is when I realized that Lori was pregnant. I figured that was how Rick figured out that she had also slept with Shane. We really don't know anything about his past. He may have already been infected before hand, if we're going with the transfer by bodily fluids idea. I'm still leaning towards some kind of airborne based infection. It's the only way I've been able to explain the bodies in the cars so far. They did mention that, but I just couldn't see how that could be the case. If a tiny scratch is all it would take, surely T-Dog would have gotten infected on the highway when Daryl put the dead walker on him after he cut himself. @Kasoivc, have you read all the comics so far? I want to read them, but I'm afraid it will take fun away from watching the show if I have an idea of what will happen next.

The more I read about how these people acted after the disaster, and then how they continue to support each other as they rebuild. It totally makes we want to move there. Just look at how far they have come in one year, and then look at where the US was a year after Katrina. Makes me truly sad to be an American.

Sony Admits PlayStation Move Has Been A Failure
† L4ugh replied to † cloud1414's topic in Gaming Realm
I really haven't had a chance to try out the Move yet, but I'm not really surprised about this news. Sony really doesn't do much in the way of supporting their peripherals. The GunCons never really got much in the way of exciting titles either. I thought you could use the Move for some of the fps games, like Gears of War 3. I'm kind of surprised people aren't using it for that. I think I'd rather play a shooter with a gun and have awkward movement, then with a controller and have crappy aim. -
I really liked this weeks episode. It kind of sucks that Shane is gone, but he kind of needed to go. He was to far gone for Rick to be able to bring him back. I thought everything was going to be ok between the two of them, at least for the night. Then pow, right in the heart. Looks like next week is setup to be a very interesting episode. I wonder how many characters will actually make to season 3. What did you guys think of Randall and Shane turning? When do you think they were infected? I had already figured out it would happen after the episode with the two police walkers. I think they were infected at the very beginning, and that is why the people in the cars on the highway didn't turn. I think it killed them at the moment of infection, but for everyone else it's like HIV. You live with it not knowing until you die. Then it kicks in because your immune system stops keeping it in check. @Koby, if you remember back to the episode with the two police officers that turned without being bit. Shane stabbed one of them in the head with his knife, then later on used it to cut his own hand. At the very least he was infected then.

I'm not trying to talk anyone out of doing something they believe in. I'm just trying to point out that there really doesn't seem to be any point to this campaign at this point in time. We already have troops in the field looking for this guy, and these guys are all to happy to point out that only a 3rd of the money you donate goes to actually helping people in Africa. So why mobilize the youth of the world to inform this man that we have decided to take a major interest in him. I highly doubt he is going to see the light and surrender. I think it's more likely he may just decide to kill all the kids he has with him out of spite and disappear into the night like Osama did. When an abductor is on the run, he isn't going to want the hostages slowing him down. Letting them go is just a loss for him, so killing them would make it easier for him to slip through the net while also sending a serious message to those pursuing him. This is what disturbs me the most about this whole thing. This movement is only going to piss him off while putting him even more on edge then he already is. Why do that to such a dangerous man who is surrounded by so many innocent children. As for the donations, they are clearly asking you to wear that stupid bracelet. That means paying money to these people. Their target audience is also obviously youths who would be more susceptible to buying into this movement out of peer-pressure or a desire to rebel against the system.

If you're actually wanting this to be external from your desktop. I think what you need is a NAS (Network Attached Storage). The raid cages you linked to look more like they belong as part of a mod to the case of a regular desktop. They have molex and sata power connectors on the back panel instead of the plug you would expect coming out of the back of a computer or external hdd. The one Rikuo linked to could also work, but I'd be a bit worried about how you would go about salvaging data on the drives if the unit itself ever goes bad. If you have an old computer, you could try making your own NAS by downloading opensource NAS software like FreeNAS8.

It's good that people are talking about this, but the problem I have is the message that you need to buy the kit or donate to achieve this goal. That money won't do anything to stop Kony, and some stuff I've seen says that a good portion of the money doesn't even go to help people in Africa. To me it just comes off as the single biggest internet scam of all time. It's targeting the youth population which makes it even worse. Their making money off of tricking kids into buying crap in the false belief of helping other kids in Africa escape a life of rape and murder. The first 25mins reminds me of just about every late night get rich quick infomercial, and the rest just makes me sick to my stomach. The video super-buu posted seems more like anti-obama propaganda than an attempt to expose Invisible Children. Even the nightly news seems to be covering this now, so hopefully someone will get to the real truth of just how much these people are actually helping the cause before to many buy into it. I really don't see any reason for this video other than to earn money. Troops have already been sent in, so why do this now while the troops are still there. It would be better to wait until support in Washington starts to die down so the youth interest can rekindle their drive to stop this guy.

I was actually referring to the much higher learning curve that would come with avisynth scripting, but the above comment is still correct. It is the best way to encode video.

Guess we can chalk up another scifi kill to Fox, at least they have something their good at. Killing the hopes of scifi fans everywhere. Hopefully a network like Syfy will try to pick the series up. Lord knows they could use a new currently airing series now that they killed off the Stargate franchise. Only problem is that the director and other key staff would probably change, and a huge crash in budget would probably occur as well. In the end it probably wouldn't be worth watching, kind of like the old Andromeda series. At least we still have Falling Skies and The Walking Dead.

What they're trying to achieve is a one term presidency for Barack Obama. They pretty much got all the crap bills they wanted when Bush was in office. Now they're just trying to keep Obama from destroying all their hard work. I do think, for the most part, Obama has done a good job; but I highly doubt he would veto sopa or pipa if they ever make it through congress. I also think he's a douche of a politician at the level that only Chicago can produce. Nobody loves Barrack Obama more than Barrack Obama does. I'm just hoping the gains we get from him being president doesn't come at the cost of a free internet. I would also agree that the president doesn't have much say in what bills make it through congress, but he does have a say in what bills he passes. He also has a much louder voice as president than anyone else in Washington. Anytime he gives a major speech most of the major networks will cut programming to air it. John Boehner doesn't get that.

You might want to do some research on this. It seems the guy behind this isn't being completely honest with all his facts. CNN even did a report on this video earlier. Somebody does need to put a bullet in Kony's head though.

I was wondering if he was next as well, but I couldn't figure out how they'd get him. He doesn't do anything, so I just decided that if I ever find myself in a zombie apocalypse that I want the T-dog role. That way I can just set at base camp while all the crazy white people and the asian kid do all the dangerous jobs. Kind of felt bad for old T-Dog until I started thinking about it, but I'm starting to think he is gaining the most out of this apocalypse. @Koby, how much does the comic differ from the show so far? I haven't gotten around to reading the comic book yet, because I didn't want to spoil the show itself. Doing similar research about next season did unearth a pretty shocking spoiler for this season, and another I had already guessed. I won't mention here though and ruin it for everyone else.

I might be interested in joining this on a later date, but I'll have to find the money for a newer computer first. You don't need to install itunes anymore, at least I didn't have to. You just have to rip AppleApplicationSupport.msi from the installer and install it. Still has a bigger footprint then neroaac, and from the cmd I haven't noticed any difference between files encoded with either. As for the op, I agree with what has already been said. Handbrake for the easy way, and the list zolockit gave in his first post for the hard way.

This episode made me sad, I liked Dale's character. I blame Randall for this, if he had just gotten bit during last episode then Dale wouldn't have been off on his own. Carl needs a good boot to the face as well. How does getting so close to a walker seem like a good/fun idea. I guess this is the episode that changes Carl. I wonder if he's going to turn into another Shane or Rick. I hope this doesn't mean they're going to let Randall into the group now.

Another torrent client you can try is Vuze. I'm not a mac person so I don't know how well it runs on macs, but I know it's suppose to be supported for use on them.

My opinion of Santorum is beginning to become even worse then my opinion of Mitt and Newt. He really doesn't seem to understand that church and government are suppose to stay separate. His views of women's rights are archaic. Even Ron Paul is starting to get on my nerves now. It would be nice if all politicians were as straight forward as he is, but his straight forwardness and stance against bills like SOPA and PIPA are all he has going for him. I think the rest of the world should take notice of what is happening in this nation, because this is how democracies fail.

I've also noticed this issue. I checked their forum and found this thread. The 200% does seem louder in 2.0 then it was in 1.1.xx, but I don't believe it's the same as 1.1.xx's 400%. @Rinkwolf, I think mpc-hc is displaying the subs because they are set as default. Some muxers like the one that comes with MeGUI will set the first added sub track to default.

Thank's for the tip. I tried what you mentioned and it seems to have worked. It only works with the Haali Renderer though. I haven't notice any difference in picture yet, so I'm not worrying about it.

This season is pretty slow, but a good part of it is for character development. T-Dog, and Dale are really the only characters that haven't had a major shift in there characters since the start of this season. I think the purpose of this season is to set up how some of the major characters will behave, and who they will or won't trust form this point on.

It doesn't matter what the bit depth is though. It does this with any video I play in fullscreen. As long as it's 8bit I can still play it in XBMC which is fine for me. It's downloaded 10bit videos that are my biggest issue now. I can use VLC 2.0, but like I mentioned in that thread. I'm having issues with the features I'm likely to need when playing downloaded anime (mainly linked segments). I've personally given up on trying to figure out what this is, but I thought I'd post a pic to see if it's the same problem creepy is having.

I just re-checked myself and you're right. Guess it was just wishful thinking on my part.

If this is referring to my earlier post. It was because people were just posting stuff like, "it sucks, don't bother". Posts like that don't really add anything to the conversation, and like the ones I quoted in that post. They tend to get deleted as spam, and rightfully so. Don't know if I'd consider myself a true fan yet, but what I like about it so far is the idea of a group of people trying to survive in a prehistoric world along side dinosaurs. While this doesn't really seem to be the direction this show is headed. I still think it's a pretty good drama. No worse then the beginning of Lost imo. Now that they opened that container, I'm afraid the show will take a noise dive in the worse direction possible. Similar to what SeaQuest DSV did in it's second season.

Did anyone hear at the start of the last ep when Rick said to Glenn, "you were right"? What do you think that means? I'm wondering if this means they're already infected with the zombie virus and will turn when they die even if they aren't bitten. I think the biggest problem with this season so far is that they spent the entire first part of it building up to the climax over Sophia. As for my favorite character, it would have to be Rick. I really like how he is trying to come to terms with what the world has become while also trying to hold on to his own morals. You can tell it's tearing him apart on the inside, but he tries to hide it so he doesn't worry everyone that's depending on him. I also like how we're starting to see the softer side of Daryl. Glenn is growing stronger as a character as well. I think that might be another reason why this season has been slow so far, because they are taking the time to show us how the characters are adapting to their new world.
