  1. Like a lot of people have already said here Dragonball Z was my first introduction to anime. A friend showed it to me when I was about 12 or 13 and at the time I thought it was stupid as hell. But now it's one of my favorite anime and got me into watching anime regularly.
  2. Batman the Animated Series was my favorite cartoon as a child. So many other great ones like Darkwing Duck, Tale Spin, Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers, Gargoyles, Duck Tales, Animaniacs, and X-Men The Animated Series. Those were the days spending all Saturday morning watching cartoons getting up early even though you wanted to sleep in because there was no school.
  3. Harem shows and reverse harems shows. It's always some loser guy who cant decide on one of the beautiful women surrounding him who claw each others eyes out just to have him. Watching a 13 or 26 episode series is an exercise in self control.
  4. I'm currently playing DC Universe online. It's so much fun to interact with your favorite superheroes. By the way anyone who is planning on starting out pick The Joker as your mentor because Mark Hamill is amazing. Best Joker ever. DCUO is also free to play on both PC and PS3 so it has that going for it. It's at least worth a look.
  5. The next game that I will be getting is Borderlands 2. I played the first game like an FPS Diablo. Countless hours spent trying to get a slightly better epic gun. Good times.
  6. In DC Universe Online I like the way they use achievements (Feats they call them) to actually be relevant to the game instead of just bragging rights. For every 100 feat points you acquire ( you get 10, 25, or 50 depending on the feat) you get 1 skill point to spend on your character to help improve their stats. Some kind of in game reward for actually playing the game is a sensible use of achievements. I think Splinter Cell Conviction had some kind of feature like this if i remember correctly.
  7. Perfect Blue, Millenium Actress, and Paprika all by Satoshi Kon are interesting films to watch. Especially Perfect Blue which is a screw with your mind kind of film. I have to recommend the Studio Ghibli animated Grave of the Fireflies. It may just be one of the best films about the human cost of war animated or otherwise. Its also quite depressing so keep that in mind if you decide to watch it.
  8. That was the very first game I had as a kid Super Mario Bros. & Duck Hunt. I still bust it out once in a while for some nostalgia. You can't go wrong with a classic.
  9. I watched the war movie The Thin Red Line (1998). It was just okay for a war movie. A little too artsy and not enough action for my tastes.
  10. I beat Fire Emblem Rekka no Ken for the Gameboy Advance. I usually don't get too much into strategy games but the animation of the fights and the story really sold it to me. I look forward to beating the other ones.
  11. Some titles that come to mind that I have seen are Getbackers, Baki the Grappler, and Ikkitousen.
  12. A couple that I can recommend are Azumanga Daioh, Welcome To The N.H.K. , and Ouran High School Host Club. Although N.H.K. may be pushing it a bit on the slice of life aspect.
  13. It would be helpful if you posted what type of anime you have seen, or what genres you like such as action, adventure, etc. I will throw a couple out that I have seen recently. I'm currently watching Monster it is excellent. It is a crime, mystery type of show. I also finished watching Desert Punk which is an action, comedy, post apocalypse type of anime. Hope these help.
  14. I have seen berserk a couple times through and I have wondered myself if there is any other anime similar in style. It's hard to find one because Berserk is it's own unique beast but I think that the anime Claymore may be what you are looking for. That's about as close of a title that I could think of.
  15. A couple of titles that popped into my mind when I read your list that you might like are Black Lagoon and Black Blood Brothers.
