I use Google Drive because I have an unlimited Team Drive now, it doesn't have bandwidth limits like MEGA and uploading to it is also much faster than to MEGA, although I do have to put my uploads in an encrypted .7z because they have a content detection system, which is an additional step.

Every new mega account still gets 50gb on mega. However, if you don't use all 50gb before the countdown expires, then you lose a majority of it. I think the countdown is ~20 days or something. But the files and links will still remain even after the countdown. As for the limit, the least a leech could do is pay $35/yr for a vpn to by-pass the download limit. Specially when you're getting something for free, you don't really have a right to complain about anything.

Or pay for Real-Debrid which is €32/year if you pre-pay 6 months, much more convenient than switching to another VPN IP for every 5 GiB downloaded, and also allows accelerated downloads from multiple premium filehosts.
