How do I add .ass subtitles to a .mkv video file, and shift it by some minutes in the process?

Instead of indirectly saying I am wrong, maybe understand I was joking because I replied with a single word. ToolNix would be plenty if you're shifting it a few seconds, like we do with LY. If he has multiple sections that need sync'd with the video, yes, Aegisub is better. He was asking a question that he assumed was a simple fix, so I replied as simple.

Sushi makes adjustments based on another source. From what you need, I doubt it'll be much help. Plus it's complicated as hell.

Hey! So, is the guide you wrote on configuring MPC-HC last year still applicable now? I mean, is there a better player/codec option available now?

As long as you have appropriate codecs, anything is better than VLC. VLC is only really good for those too lazy for anything else or if that is the only player available for their device, such as a phone or tablet.

Got it. I'll switch to MPC-HC then.

You should try MPV player if VLC and MPC-HC arent exactly working out, it takes some getting use to a customizing but totally worth it imo, i switched about a year ish ago never been back and never been happier with a single player! or you can try potplayer i guess if those dont work out.... just some alternatives for ya
