    Hello

Kidding, kidding. Hi Dan! Welcome to Kametsu!

    Hi

What a coincidence... Well hello there! Welcome to Kametsu. I'm one of the creators of the 1080p remaster. Feel free to PM me your advice and I'll take it into consideration.
  4. So I just found out Jamie Marchi is voicing Yukana Yame...

I don't really know the plot of My First Girlfriend is a Gal yet but, when I saw her as the VA, I was pretty excited.

I'm familiar with Jamie's work, and I have no doubt at all that she'd nail Yukana. I could imagine Jamie's voice fitting perfectly just looking at Yukana's design.

    Yugioh GX

That's Capsule Monsters in 960x720 10-bit. Not sure about GX.
  6. The original was produced in native 4K. I'm 99% sure the Kametsu release is an encode of the 1080p BDMV (seeing as December Sky was released in both 4K and 1080p Blu-rays). Think about it for a second. Assuming Kametsu had the option, why would they only release a scaled down 1080p encode instead of providing both 4K and 1080p encodes?
  7. Quite good, but there's a few differences. Kametsu will be using Beatrice-Raws 1080p encode, which proved to look better than Sallysubs encode (better detail preservation, less grain, etc). The Sallysubs release was lacking a few chapters in various episodes. Kametsu will have complete chapters. The original Sallysubs dialogue/KFX/signs & songs contains a lot of issues and mistakes. We'll be fixing these as best we can (or rather, based god Etzimal will). The Sallysubs 1080p set (eps 1-12) is 27.6 GB while Beatrice-Raws is only 13.5 GB.* (I'm not on AnimeTorrents so I can't check the release you mentioned, but) Kametsu will provide both 720p and 1080p releases. No audio desyncs in Kametsu release (atleast not that I know of). I synced the ENG audio for the 1080p version myself and from what I can tell the streams are fine and line up perfectly after applying a negative delay. Could you name the episode at which a desync occurs in the release mentioned above? Hope it helps! The Kametsu release is very much active and being worked on (though it may take a while nonetheless). Sheet just needs to be updated. Etzimal is still looking into the video source for the 720p release so that's unknown for now. But 1080p will be using Beatrice-Raws - for sure. *Normally file sizes aren't too important since we aim for best quality releases, but I felt like it was worth mentioning since Beatrice-Raws has a better encode anyways.
  8. Awesome. I was thoroughly impressed by the visuals when watching December sky. I get that it was originally produced in 4K, but dang, even the 1080p Kametsu encode looks a billion times better than most JPBD 1080p anime you see these days. I really prefer the look of super sharp and dark lines.
  9. Can anyone source me a foreign DVD set for Avatar: The Last Airbender? Spanish or German one, preferably.

There is an early TV rip from Russian Nickelodeon that doesn't have horizontal doubling, but have low resolution and compression artifacts (blocking): https://mega.nz/#F!aB5liC7B!2wil4RhFeD1Qp50fk8N3Qw

Thanks @Dulus_No, but you're definitely right about the quality. Very low resolution/bitrate and tons of artifacts. Even digital sources like iTunes and Amazon would be better than this. :P

  13. My man! I agree that High School DxD is the absolute best. Season 4 is in the works and it's most likely going to cover some of the best volumes from the light novel (9 & 10 imo). I must say I've never been interested in a lot of those other ones. Still waiting for Food Wars and Shinmai Maou to get a dub...
  14. It's just been confirmed at Anime Expo that season 3 will air in Spring 2018. That's right - around 9 months from now. I doubt 9 months is enough to produce a 2-cour series, especially given Wit's schedule. And after the stunt they pulled with season 2 I don't see a reason to get my hopes up. I'll believe it when I see the 13th episode of S3 with my own eyes. Edit: ignore this stuff. S3 airs summer 2018, not spring. Funimation was wrong.
  15. First torrent for the BD Vol. 1 has appeared... I'm very disappointed. If there's anything I truly hated about season 2 it's the poor use of CGI. When I first saw the Colossal Titan in episode (spoiler is the episode number) it ruined the immersion for me. And it looks like they didn't improve it in the BD one bit. Looks the same as the TV version. What's even worse is that they switch from godawful CGI to crisp 2D throughout the scene, making it stand out even more. Yabuta Shuuhei, the incredible 3D director from season 1, isn't credited anywhere for season 2 so that could explain why. Since Wit Studio managed to release AoT S2 this way, I don't have high hopes for when those later manga volumes are going to be adapted (if season 3 ends up being 25 episodes, it's likely going to be season 4 I am referring to). This is such a shame.
  16. This part is very important. As Catar said, it all comes down to cost/speed ratio. Gaming is an entirely different subject because it's a real-time process, where a certain amount of frames has to be displayed in a certain amount of time in order for the game to be ''playable'' in a decent manner. For most people, 60fps is considered optimal. Some are with fine 30fps. If your computer cannot reach these numbers, then yeah, it's simply not suited for gaming and you're probably gonna have a bad time. This is why it's essential for most PC games to have customizable graphics setings. The point is, when it comes to encoding, the only thing that really matters is time. A $500 PC can yield the same output quality as a $10,000 PC. It just takes A LOT longer to process and encode.
  17. Totally agreed. It was better than I was expecting... plus they absolutely nailed the humor this time for the second part of the movie. Cogman was hilarious. Finale was great too. As flawed as Michael Bay may be, he did a great job directing and visualizing all those fights and especially the grand finale at the end. Recently watched Wonder Woman as well. Definitely one of the better DC movies, but still not quite as good as The Dark Knight trilogy.
