  1. I've read all the (currently available) High School DxD LN volumes on Baka-Tsuki (several thousands of PDF pages) I've never noticed a single spelling mistake or error... or maybe a handful of them at best. So I'd say Baka-Tsuki is very good. Never heard or tried Yen Press... sorry.

  2. You hear that @Catar? Now we can finally be in a club together. Just you and me buddy....

    *ahem*

Anyway, I do agree with you. The like system is very straight-forward and simplified. I don't really see the need for it to be changed. Whenever I want to express more gratitude I always just leave a comment and a like. Obviously this doesn't apply to non-upload threads/comments though.

Even if it had been two-cour the flashbacks wouldn't have changed. It would have still covered what it has covered with the same pacing it has done. The only difference is we're not getting the next cour which will now be titled season 3, immediately when this cour ends.

They have to adapt what they have to adapt. Sounds like you're wishing they'd just skip canon content to get to the action scenes. I'd prefer them not skip / gloss over things to do that.

True, but the amount of episodes being doubled certainly would make a difference. Mainly because we're gonna have to wait so darn long.

I'm fine with flashbacks as long as they serve a good purpose. Today's episode did a fantastic job for example. I personally don't care about potato girl a lot since she doesn't serve much of a purpose. So naturally, episode 2 was a bit boring for me. I get that it's needed to flesh out characters though. But i'd rather see this happen in a 2-cour season rather than 1-cour.

I'm still kind of shocked they're only doing one cour as I figured they would have done another 2-cour and ended the season where chapter 70 ended, which would have been the same pacing as season one, and ended up at the end of an arc.

I wouldn't have minded the flashbacks if it was going to be 2-cour. But since it's only one-cour, there's already not much room for overly long recaps and flashbacks. I'll admit that some of these flashbacks were quite good, but there's also a few that dragged on for too long (looking at you episode 2). And then there's episode 9 which was just 24 minutes worth of talking... I dunno, I'm not a big fan of it. Can't blame the production committee since they're actually doing a great job adapting the manga, but still.

Another problem with season 2 being one-cour is going to be season 3 (atleast the first cour). From what I've been told, it's a lackluster arc with lots of political stuff. Not too much action. So how is that supposed to get people excited again? I'll be reading the manga once season 2 ends, but it does worry me.

This season seems ok but i'd like it if they pick up the pace more.

Couldn't agree more. A lot of people find the pacing to be much better than season 1's, but it's just too slow and lackluster for me. Especially given how some episodes spend 10 minutes on flashbacks. For an arc that's supposed to be one of the best in the entire manga, I'm not exactly impressed so far. We still have 3 episodes to go, but I'm kinda losing hope.

  6. Quite relaxing indeed! That was pretty good. :)

Moby and @ThePJzer... you know how I said Carpenter Brut would release something late 2017? Well he finally released his cover of 'Flashdance - She's a Maniac' today! There's another full album coming later this year though.

I've already pre-ordered it here. Unfortunately it's pretty much a duplicate of the Trilogy album. Only difference being is that he added Maniac + another new track called 5118.574... regardless, I bought it! :D

  7. @ThePJzer Interesting stuff! Haven't heard of him but that's definitely the kind of music I would have enjoyed 2-3 years ago. My taste tends to change over the years hehe.

And yeah I had the exact same reaction! It's an incredible song.

This track just grabs you starting from 0:45 and never lets go. Just like Turbo Killer, it's one of his more famous and heavy tracks.

Honestly I'd recommend checking out his (one and only) Trilogy album and listening to all 18 tracks. It's compiled of 3x6 EPs (666, what a surprise). Unfortunately there have been no other EP/albums since then (trilogy is from 2015). He did hint at something coming late 2017 though.

  8. @ThePJzer That's my jam! Trust me my friend, I am all over this genre. It goes by the name of synthwave. Lazerhawk is a classic example. Carpenter Brut, along with Perturbator, create what is known as darksynth (which is typically a lot heavier and darker - it has a satanic edge). Other good artists are Dance with the Dead, Gunship, Dan Terminus, etc. Lots of 80s-inspired B-movie music as you said.

This is arguably Carpenter Brut's most famous (and heaviest) tracks out there. Just listen to the first two minutes to hear what I mean.

  9. Pretty good @ThePJzer ! Second video is unavailable for me somehow...

    Time for something completely different...

One of my favorites from Carpenter Brut. Starts off with this perfect GTA-vibe, throws in the saxophone at 1:14, gets a bit more intense later on and then just breaks loose at 2:28 (signature Carpenter Brut style)... and goes back to the original GTA vibes from before.

Guardians of the galaxy Vol 2.

I saw it as well last week! It was a marathon actually. Both vol 1 and 2 right after the other.

I thought the story was okay-ish. For the first hour or so it didn't feel like there was any threat or objective, which I kind of disliked. And yeah, Thor 3 looks awesome.

Small spoiler regarding the end-credits scenes of GotG Vol. 2:

    Spoiler

So it appears one of the females that appeared in the end-credits of GotG Vol. 2 is actually the main villain in the upcoming Thor 3 movie. I guess that explains why the trailer has those GotG Vol. 2 vibes.

  11. Sorry for digging up an old topic, but has there been any news on these upcoming dubs? As stated in this screenshot, a dub for The Testament of Sister New Devil would be released ''in the coming weeks''. That was back in September last year. Correct me if I'm wrong, but almost half a year has passed without any update on the matter. Same goes for Kabaneri actually... so what gives?
