Unironically, Dombo (Dumbo's name in Dutch) actually means dumbass. :D

  2. I don't get what was 1st April's joke.

As to be expected of the director of Inuyashiki, there's a decent amount of CGI.

I do appreciate what was done at 0:30. Rather than doing everything in 3D, they opted to animate the main character in 2D instead. His movements do look a bit choppy, but going through the scene frame-by-frame that guy was definitely animated in 2D. It reminds me of the 3DMG scenes from AoT S1, which used a similar approach (main characters 2D and everything else 3D). This guy was also the CGI director for AoT S1, so I guess it makes sense.

Admittedly the premise of the show doesn't seem too interesting, but I'll give it a shot.

NeutralHatred, I don’t know. Was just stating it’s a possibility. Nothing more.

Kony, dunno what to say other than that I suggest you stop putting words in my mouth. I’m not angry, I’m not some anti-fun, Koby-hating or Kametsu-despising douche. If that were the case I wouldn’t even be here... I’m just looking out for the community’s best interest. Sorry if my concern offended you in any way.

Since you call it drama, would you prefer if I just sent a PM in the future or something? And for the record, I mentioned the lack of an upfront answer since you didn’t seem to reply to my last comment at the time (the one before Moodkiller’s 5 cents). That said, the third paragraph in your last reply is what I would call a suitable answer. So thank you for that.

I seem to answer everyone’s questions perfectly fine to my knowledge. Unless I missed some. Sometimes I do not always have the answer, naturally. I don’t know what agenda you might have.

All I did was bring up a concern. Something that occured to me and something that I’ve seen happen on other sites. You just happen to be the leader of the site, so yeah, I think you are the foremost person I should be talking to. If you want to take these things as some sort of personal attack, that’s entirely on you. I believe you felt the same way when Moodkiller left, not sure. Just know that I don’t feel that way in the slightest. If you want me to talk to some other staff member if I have a question or concern, that’s cool. Just say the word and I won’t bother you about anything.

I explained my reason to leave at the time and I think we should leave it at that. Even if I did explain my reasoning once again, it wouldn’t change a thing except probably result in a discussion where you repeat how much you think I depise you or something... well it’s nothing of the sort. You have my word on that.

So please, I’d like for us to move on as friends and continue to work together. I am still very much open to the idea of working alongside with Kametsu and/or LostYears in case something needs encoding (granted I am interested in the anime).

@NeutralHatred I said 99% of the users. Not 99% of the staff. Those who are not staff are unable to see Koby edited their comment.

It isn't entirely about the prank. It's about the implication that Koby has the ability to edit people's comments (to change the actual content - not fix formatting or whatever) behind their back with no one except (some) staff being able to tell. Which made me wonder whether he's done this kind of stuff in the past (and no, not as a joke). That's my concern, and I think it's a pretty valid one.

Sure, the discussion was sparked by a fairly harmless prank, but that shouldn't be a reason to dismiss one's concerns with some silly ''oh, you must be fun at parties, y u so serious'' comment.

Anyway, at this point I know better than to expect an upfront answer. It's fine. Even in the unlikely event (I'm not accusing here, just speculating) that Koby did edit comments to suit his agenda or whatever, the rest of the staff would be powerless and couldn't do a thing about it (to my knowledge atleast). So I guess we'd either have to live with it or leave. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ANYWAY, that's all. I'm over it. Just commented to better explain my reasoning to you.

A ninja-edit has nothing to do with silencing anyone. A ninja-edit is when you edit someone's post or comment and there is no public trace. When users edit their comments, there's a clear mark at the bottom that says it was edited. When you edited my comment, there was none. Absolutely nothing. The same goes for all the other comments in that search query. If it wasn't for MK's screenshot of the original comment, no one except you and ''the staff'' (let me remind you that 99.9% of the users on this site aren't staff) would be able to see that you edited my comment. So yes, this is very much similar to the ninja-editing that Spez performed.

All you did was post a status. Do you expect people to look through this search query of yours to see if one of their comments was edited?

''Someone is bound to link them to this status'' is a poor excuse. You should be the one pointing out their comments were edited, even if that might lessen the joke.

Fixing formatting, merging comments or quoting one's comment in a funny way is completely different from changing the actual contents of an original comment. Apples and oranges. If a comment is extremely rude, the vast majority of the time it's removed anyway (as it should be), not modified. And if it is modified, it should say something along the lines of <content removed for being vulgar> or something like that. To let people know it was edited for the better of the community.

''Staff can keep an eye on other staff'' is poor reasoning when you're the one calling all the shots. Even if the entire staff team disagrees with you on something, in the end it doesn't matter because you have complete control. The final decision rests with you. No staff member can punish, kick or ban you for doing something wrong. At best they can bring to light what edits you made and revert them (in which case you could probably just strip them of their staff powers anyway).

I'm fine with jokes and whatnot. You've known me long enough by now. But when people's voices/opinions are being meddled with, that's where I draw the line.

That said, I think it'd be much better if you made it clear you edited something, just like the rest of the staff does (I'm talking about the little message at the top/bottom).

Ninja-editing people's comments is terrible practice and I think you should know better as the leader of this site. Unless one has email notifications turned on, they can't even prove their comment was edited. While you might see it as a joke, you're messing with people's trust. Who's to say you haven't been editing people's comments in the past for all kinds of reasons?

Reddit admin Spez was also ninja-editing people's comments, and when he was caught there was a big uproar about it. You may want to read some of the comments in the apology thread as it might give you some insight as to why people were upset with his behaviour. Some of it is relevant to the current situation.

Joke or no joke, don't mess with people's comments like that. Seriously.

Edit: great reply, very mature too. You may want to heed your own advice.
