  1. Masquerade

Star Trek or Star Wars. What do you prefer.

Star Wars. I've seen some Trek episodes here and there and I couldn't really get into it. Might see Wrath Of Khan one day for shits and giggles though.

    Dragon Ball Z remaster Project

Who the hell is this dickweed?
  3. Masquerade

    Dragon Ball Z remaster Project

This makes me less sad about their cancellation though... FUCK this is a good encode.

    Dragon Ball Z remaster Project

I've come to the conclusion that the R2 Japanese Dragon Boxes look pretty damn close to the Level Sets (even though it's Standard Definition, it somehow looks really fucking close to HD for me) and all that's really needed is some very mild sharpening and RGB curve color correction to match it.
  5. Masquerade

    MKV to MP4

    Dragon Ball Z remaster Project

Actually Fenix is giving me his R2 ISO's (which are a bit better quality and less compressed than the R1) to work on my project with. Now, unfortunately I tried but am flunking at AVIsynth, so I'm primarily working in Premiere and TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works to color correct and sharpen the image a little. Any DNR applied on the NLmeans setting in Handbrake will be minimal.
  7. For anyone who's interested, I'm in the process of doing a re-cut of DBZ that paces the series more like Kai but without the choppy editing and retention of the Bruce Faulconer track (once Frieza comes around). Link to thread is here [contains a MEGA url to the first 4 episodes]:

    Compressing a Massive Filesize Losslessly

Those larger files I'm gonna use to burn onto a series of disks (6-7 eps a disk sounds about right). In terms of online distribution I'm trying to go smaller. I'll checkout Handbreak, so thanks for that!
  9. So I'm in the process of trying to export a few files from a "secret project" I'm doing to distribute here. Now, my problem is that a 24 minute episode from the project is exporting at around 5.5gb...yet I see videos of the same length encoded here that look Blu-Ray disk ready but are around 700-800mb. How do I shrink the files down to such a level without completely destroying them? Does turning them into MKV's have any role in the process? *[Do note that the files I'm dealing with do have film grain for the first 20-something episodes.]

    Songs written like stories

Try 20+ minute long prog suites ("A Change Of Seasons," "Supper's Ready," "Close To The Edge"). They get that storytelling job done nicely.
