      Forum stability   03/21/2018

There was an unintended side effect as a result of the recent server maintenance carried out to increase its performance and update its SSL/TLS security layer. Immediately following the maintenance, some people started to experience intermittent periods of lag and even some experiencing "504 Gateway Timeout" errors.   I had to leave what was there in place for the time being so I could figure out where the issue was. I'm happy to say that I THINK I figured it out and made the necessary adjustments to the backend process manager. Most, if not all of these issues, should have cleared up as of late today. However, if you still happen to notice highly abnormal lag/dropouts/timeout errors anywhere on the forum, please report it to me in PM with the URL you were trying to visit when the problem occurred. I can't guarantee immediate responses, but rest assured that every report you send will be investigated.   You have my sincerest apologies for this bit of a rough ride post-maintenance. This is a fairly new backend configuration we're using that, while thorough tested, can be somewhat trickier to tune properly, and often times adjustments have to be made to it. It's pretty much a balancing game, just gotta find which settings work best overall...which I HOPE I've found finally.

  1. RiffTrax

Any other fans of RiffTrax here? My spouse and I started buying several of their riffed movies a couple years ago, and still treat ourselves to one every now and then. We love the 1949 Batman serial, The Wizard, Cyborg Cop 2, and of course we'll buy anything they make that is Halloween/horror movie themed.
  2. What are your hobbies ?

I love sketching and then going over them in Adobe Illustrator to make very detailed vector art. My style is influenced by Patrick Nagel's art deco vibe, with a gothic tone added. I also volunteer for Goldenroze Scans doing editorial for the Beyblade manga. Before my son was born I used to spend more time at the shooting range and take a lot of pistol and carbine classes, but now that I'm a parent to a young toddler, I need hobbies that are less expensive/hazardous/messy.
  3. Which is your favorite Scooby-Doo movie?

I'm very, very old school… I was there to enjoy Scooby's revival in the mid 1980's. "Scooby-Doo Meets the Boo Brothers" has a special place in my heart for some reason, probably because I loved the haunted plantation setting, the skeleton ghost and the headless horseman, all the little Halloween elements in it. As an adult I'll put it on for background noise while I clean the living room sometimes, and I note that the writing is confused and all over the place…. but I like it regardless. One thing I would have LOVED to see: A movie with Vincent Van Ghoul in it. Heck, I'd love it if they made a live action Vincent Van Ghoul spin-off film.
  4. How did you find Kametsu? It was mentioned on the WBO, so I'm here much for the same reason Ukyo (above) it. What do you think of the place so far? It's beautifully laid out and easy on the eyes. How active are you planning on being? As much as my time affords me. What are your top five anime? Revolutionary Girl Utena, Beyblade Burst, Interstella 5555, Hikauro No Go, and Shaman King Top five video games? Not much of a gamer Talk to my spouse, he is. What other hobbies do you have? Drawing, painting, weight lifting, gardening, and reading. Make any graphics? I worked as a motion graphics animator for 10 years in the movie trailer business. I designed and animated main titles for many feature films. www.catherinegaynor.com Currently taking a break to be a stay-at-home-mom. Do you have any questions for us? Not at the moment.
