Yeah when i was younger we had a thing called Animax on TV and it would just air anime but after 3 years it was removed from the TV and after that happened I turned to the dark life of torrenting and jumped into the abyss.
Same here. Animax came by when I had just learned of torrents, but they were still fairly unaccesible to me. So even when Toonami introduced me to anime itself, I have to say Animax's shows were more groundbreaking to me. I sure do miss the good ol' days, but to be fairly honest, even if Animax or anything of the sort came back, I probably wouldn't watch it.

Anime first, because I feel it's easier to catch a glimpse of the characters and story in 20 minutes than it is in 20 pages.

I actually try not to rewatch because I feel it could ruin the past experience I had with the show. I do the same thing with books. Other than that, I rewatch if I feel like I didn't get the most out of the show, like Serial Experiments Lain which I didn't understand anything of at first. With other shows that I loved, like Tsukihime, InuYasha, and even Fullmetal Alchemist, instead of rewatching I picked up the source material and tried to experience the story in a different way.
It's almost like a rule I have for myself. Except for Rurouni Kenshin. Will always rewatch.

Just started Z Gundam after a two-month Gundam hiatus (due to how much I hated 0083). The gimmicky animation gets under my skin sometimes, although I'll probably forget about it after a couple more episodes. So glad to see some of the characters I loved back, and I'm also enjoying a certain MC.

I'm currently having my first venture into manwha via Moritat. The first 30 or so chapters remind me so much of early 2000's "Escape the room" games. Has great plot twists. I'd definetly recommend to anyone, although I know some might be put off by the shounen-ai aspect of it all.

I recommend Zero no Tsukaima, at least the first two seasons. Also Akatsuki no Yona, Hitsugi no Chaika, Maoyuu Maou Yuusha and Shakugan no Shana.

Picked up Gantz last week. Finished three days later. The art was beautiful, the characters were engaging, especially after the Shorty Alien arc, all my questions were answered and even though there were a few events that could've been developed further, I believe they all went into play nicely. It was an extremely good manga, and I'm incredibly excited about Gantz:O. I'd recommend this to anyone.

Hellsing Ultimate, Akira, Birdy the Mighty, Initial D, anything Lupin the III, Alien Nine.

Definetly anything Rumiko Takahashi. There were some great movies, such as Akira, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind and one of my favorite Lupin movies, the Fuma Conspiracy. Gunbuster, and Gundam's War in the Pocket.

I happened to introduce someone to the franchise through Fate Zero, and they loved it. The thing is, Zero is more mature-oriented than FSN, so when they started watching FSN they were a bit held back by the change of mood. Oh, and don't watch FSN 2006. It's a spoiler fest.

I used to say "maybe it's not a bad show, give it a few more episodes" and then I was four episodes away from the end and I hated every character in it. I also used to watch anything with pretty artwork. The only shows I regret watching are the ones which names I can't recall for the life of me, since they were as generic as they come. I mean the "seen one, seen them all" harems, the "came back to the country and can't remember the promise I made to my osananajimi" shows, and also, most shounen-ai out there (I'm looking at you, Junjou Romantica and Sekaiichi Hatsukoi). Other than that, there haven't been any shows I have truly wished I never saw --- maybe the second half of Guilty Crown, but that's it.

Lately I've been curious about older anime, since I just can't seem to get into anything from recent seasons. So far I've been impressed with 3x3 Eyes, Gunbuster, Aim for the Ace (the movie was magnificent) and the utterly amazing Ai no Kusabi from the 90s. Also finished Record of Lodoss War and I have to say I expected more from it.

I loved Code Geass, and have tried to watch Death Note since alot of people who have watched Code Geass recommend Death Note as a simular styled show. But i've never been able to get past the first two episodes of Death Note. Mabe this is cus i find the premise of the show rather stupid (killing people with a book), even tho im pretty sure if I'd just continue watching i would probably love the show. So hopefully i get around to completing the show.
I was just like you. I watched the first episode back when it first premiered, but I couldn't get past that. A few years later I completed it and I have to say Death Note is one of the best series I've seen. The engaging thing about it is not the Death Note itself, but the events that take place once it falls on Light's hands, and also, Light's amazing development as a character. He's very similar to Lelouch, so if you watched Code Geass and loved it (as much as I did) highly suggest you put yourself through a few more episodes of Death Note. I think you'll be pleased.

Finished Cowboy Bebop a few days ago and I still don't feel emotionally able to start a new show. Shit.
