  1. All righty, then. Two opinions is a strong correlation, so I'll leave Omniverse off my list. Thanks! Anyone else is welcome to give their opinions, though. I'm not closing this topic just yet.
  2. Update: Finished Billy Dilley's Super-Duper Subterranean Summer Began watching Chowder Started adding favorite characters for each cartoon. I will finish at a later time Edit: I finished I still have not updated the tags Edit: I updated the tags!
  3. Update! Finished T.U.F.F. Puppy Began watching Billy Dilley's Super-Duper Subterranean Summer Totally loving it, I hope we get more Added new shows to "Cartoons that I plan to watch" Tangled: The Series OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes Dreamworks Dragons Ben 10 Ben 10: Alien Force Ben 10: Ultimate Alien Fish Hooks Moved Teen Titans and Steven Universe to new list: "Cartoons I'm not interested in at the moment, but I may watch someday" I have not updated the tags, unfortunately. I'll get around to that next time.
  4. Hmm, okay. Anyone else agree with EccentricOne? Just want to get as many opinions as possible.
  5. It's my understanding that the new Ben 10 is total crap. I'm assuming the original series is good, of course. Everyone always loves the original. But what about the other 3? I'm wondering what the general consensus is on those. As someone who's never seen an episode of Ben 10 in my life, I just want to know what I might be getting myself into. Also, Omniverse's description on Wikipedia confuses me. Is it a sequel series, an alternate universe, or something else? Thanks in advance!
  6. Update: I revamped the main post like I said I would, but I'm not quite done. About half of the cartoons still need my descriptions/impressions of them. I'll most likely do that tomorrow. Edit: I finally finished. Enjoy my more detailed recommendations!
  7. Update: Finished The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy My rating: Very good! Its twisted sense of humor made it stand out among kids' shows. Finished Evil Con Carne (On the lookout for better quality for the next time I watch it) My rating: It had potential, but it was way too short. Darnit networks, can't you recognize a good show when you see one?? Began watching T.U.F.F. Puppy My impressions so far: Excellent! This is definitely going to be one of my top 10. Butch Hartman is a genius! I will probably completely revamp the first post as soon as I find the time, cutting out the story at the beginning and providing a much better-organized list. It's hard to believe it's been nearly a year since I ran out of cartoons to watch! Thanks for all the suggestions from everyone so far, and please keep them coming!
  8. I actually liked the first season well enough, but from the second season onward, Courage stopped getting new lines, and they just reused old voice clips. It was as if his voice actor died or quit or something, and they just didn't bother replacing him.
  9. Update: Upon researching Harvey Beaks in preparation for download, I discovered the creator of the show made a show prior to it: Chowder. So I put that on my list ahead of Harvey Beaks. I may have to settle for the 480p version from iTunes for now, but I hope someone can eventually get their hands on 1080p somewhere and upload it. Man, the transition from SD to HD was painful. It's so frustrating that all these shows that aired in HD don't end up that way on iTunes, all because they aired during that transition period. At least HD is the new standard now, so we don't have to worry about that kind of thing until 4K starts to take over. (Which hopefully won't be for a long time)
  10. I tend to enjoy cartoons that are a bit more... shall we say, innocent. Some adult cartoons are funny, but usually I just find them offensive. It just depends on the style of humor the showrunners use. I haven't really seen any Marvel toons. My preference for Marvel stems back to my obsession with Spiderman when I was a kid. Also, the MCU is so good. But worry not; I'm still keeping Teen Titans in the back of my mind, so DC still has a chance to impress me. I'll probably watch it as soon as I run out of other toons.
  11. Update: Updated lists to reflect toons I've watched since last edit Updated all list titles to use "toon" instead of "show" Added new toons to "Toons that are on my radar" Misc. changes to list titles Added new tags I remain skeptical about Steven Universe, but I will put it on my list nonetheless. I might try it once it has ended.
  12. Update: Added new shows to lists Moved 2 shows from "on radar" to "watched" Added new list: "Shows I started watching, but are now on hold due to a lack of interest" New label (**): "New Show that has not yet begun airing" Changed title of post Added new tags
  13. New edit on first post: Added extra info on the TL;DR, also added new section on list: "Shows that I do not recommend" I'm more of a Marvel fan, really, but I can't deny that I've heard good things about a lot of the DC cartoons. I might check them out eventually, but for now that's gonna have to be on the back of my mind. Thanks for the recommendations!
  14. Well, I thought the whole show was really good all the way through the first season, so there's probably a difference in taste here. I don't know how far you watched, but the final episode of Season 1 is really intense and plot-heavy, and definitely worth it. Season 2 furthers the overarching plot a little faster than Season 1, I think, and you get quite a bit more character development from Ludo. Buff Frog gets a couple solo episodes, too, which is cool. And the latest episode, S02E14, was too crazy for words... so many things changed all at once. And I definitely feel like they're building up to SOMETHING, slowly but surely. TL;DR, the plot picks up a little in the second season, and while I definitely recommend you give it a second try, it's all a matter of taste, so I won't blame you if you decide to quit again.
  15. What kind of cartoon is it? It sounds cool, but I've honestly never heard of it. Now I'm intrigued. Those are both going on my mental queue! Thanks for the additional suggestions! I've also heard good things about The Loud House, so I think I'll give that a look. Please read my list in the first post before recommending a cartoon! Star is actually one of my top 3 favorite cartoons of all time. Thanks, though, for thinking of it. Hmm, that actually gives me an idea... I'll be editing the first post later to incorporate this idea of mine.
  16. I loved it! I can't wait for its return next year. Finally got around to watching this. Good stuff! Quick question: Do you recommend its sequel series, Xiaolin Chronicles? I can't seem to find any info on its critical reception.
  17. Watched this on Halloween! It's quite a piece of art. I loved it. I started watching it, and I finished Season 1 within a few days! (Which is impressive, considering how busy I am these days.) I'm now a handful of episodes into Season 2. This is a good one, thanks for the suggestion!
  18. a) I thought Bob's Burgers was an adult cartoon. Am I sorely mistaken? If I am, maybe I'll watch it. b) Never heard of Harvey Beaks or Over the Garden Wall. What are they about? c) I'm seriously considering Samurai Jack. I've heard a lot of good things about it. a) Please, no adult cartoons. Like I already said, I watch/have watched a handful (One of which WAS Futurama), but they're not my main interest. b) I've heard so many things about Teen Titans. I'm not much of a DC fan (I'm more into Marvel), but maybe I'll give it a try. c) Oh man, I remember Xiaolin Showdown! I totally forgot about that. I never really saw every episode when I was a kid, though, or else I would have remembered to include it on my list. Now I have GOT to go watch that. Thanks for the recommendations! I can't wait to hear more from other fellow cartoon fans.
  19. I've heard that show's name a few times before... sounds like I'll have to give it a shot. I'm pretty open-minded, so almost every cartoon I start, I end up liking. Just curious though, is it plot-driven in any way, or is it more of a directionless "daily shenanigans" kind of cartoon, or maybe a mix of both? I like any of those, but it'd be nice to know which one of those it is before jumping in.
  20. I just thought I'd share with you which cartoons I've liked, which cartoons I haven't liked, and which cartoons I plan on watching. I'd like you to tell me which cartoons you'd recommend to me! Feel free to "second" the ones on my list, too. It gives me a better idea of what kinds of cartoons you like. Keep in mind that while I have watched a handful of anime and adult cartoons, I am generally not interested in them, so there's no need to mention them. Currently watching: Dreamworks Dragons I'm finally making some headway again, after a long time of procrastinating and waiting to download the special episode that takes place between the Cartoon Network and Netflix seasons. The Netflix seasons are so much better animated, it isn't even funny. Goes to show you what a little budget will do, huh? Cartoons I've liked*: Honorable Mentions: Cartoons that I plan to watch**: Cartoons I might watch if enough people recommend them: Cartoons on hold: Cartoons that I stopped watching due to a lack of interest: Cartoons that are objectively bad: *List is in approximate order of favorite (top) to least favorite (bottom) **List is in the approximate order that I plan to watch them in Bold: Still getting new episodes Italic: Uncertain future Underline: Has not yet premiered
  21. Cartoons often have pretty messed up episode orders, especially older ones (though there are still a few even nowadays that have ordering problems). When you start binge-watching a completed cartoon, which order do you prefer to watch episodes in? Please answer in the poll, but if you have some other kind of order you watch episodes in, feel free to select "Other" and voice it in a reply. Also, I've never done this sort of thing before, so I'm not sure if I can do this text and the poll all in one post, but it's worth a shot. If there's no poll, just reply, I guess. I myself am a die-hard "Official Wikipedia Order" kind of person. I find that I avoid continuity errors that way. (If any such continuity exists in the first place, that is.) It also makes sure I see episodes that I might otherwise miss for some reason.
  22. I watched Regular Show: The Movie a few weeks ago. Pretty funny stuff, at least if you're familiar with the series. I've seen every episode so far, including all the shorts.
