OK K.O.! is utterly fantastic. It's one of the best cartoons I've seen in a long time, partially due to its excellent use of hand-drawn animation to create expressive characters and scenes. It's also not afraid to get meta from time to time, which is really refreshing.

I'm gonna start Dreamworks Dragons before long, but for now Hyrule Warriors Definition Edition beckons me.

    • Caught up with Tangled: The Series

I decided to go ahead with Bunsen Is a Beast despite its missing final episode. I'll just have to hope it shows up eventually. As for Tangled: The Series, I gave a more detailed description of what I think of it in the main post. But here, I'd like to say that I freakin' loved it, and I can't wait for season 2!

OK K.O.! is next, but that might be a while, despite the semester being over. I'll try to keep you posted.

  1. Another update.

    • Finished The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack
    • Started My Gym Partner's a Monkey

Might be a while before I update again. MGPaM isn't one of those "One more episode, then I'll go to bed" kind of shows. It's good, just not THAT good. And with a total of 4 seasons, it's gonna take me a while to get through it.

Edit: MGPaM is growing on me. I doubt it'll even make the top 20, but at least it's good enough to not be at the bottom.

  2. Quick update on this, actually. Ever since this post, I've watched through Ben 10, Ben 10: Alien Force, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, and even Ben 10: Omniverse. The original series was my favorite, and while Omniverse certainly wasn't as good as Alien Force or Ultimate Alien, I DID like it. Its tone didn't feel too different to me, except for a handful of episodes. I doubt I will ever try the reboot, though.

Looking through your I was able to notice cartoons mostly after the year 2000 and are a bit adventure focused. I particularly have no huge knowledge on cartoons but my recommendations would be American Dragon : Jake Long , The life and Times of Juniper Lee and Time Squad watched these a few years back (YES A FEW YEARS BACK) and I think you would enjoy them .Something before 1990's would be Spiderman TAS 1994 , X men and Thunder cats.

    What do you think ?

Those first 3 you mentioned might be something I'd like. I'll look into them.

  4. So, remember how I said I might take a while with Omniverse? Well...

    • Finished Ben 10: Omniverse

Yeah, I ended up just watching through it fairly quickly, despite its daunting 80-episode run. Now that I'm completely done with Ben 10 altogether, there's a very good chance I'll take this opportunity to take a break from cartoons altogether, aside from new episodes of current shows. This semester in school is looking to be rather busy, and I'll be waiting for a lull in new game releases to resume cartoon-watching.

Terrible show that is popular with kids.

Not really sure which one you're referring to, unless you think they're all terrible.  In the latter case, I would have to disagree, because I'm most of the way through the original and loving it.  I can't wait to watch Alien Force and Ultimate Alien.

As a side note, just out of curiosity, is there anyone out there who actually likes Omniverse?  Just wanna make sure I see all sides before I totally dismiss it.

  6. This isn't directly related to cartoons, but I recently got a hand-me-down desktop PC, and now that I have a 1920x1200 monitor, I can finally enjoy cartoons in true 1080p.  (The monitor is a bit taller than 1080p, but has the same width, so it will display perfect 1080p.)  Up until now, I've been using my laptop, which only has a 1366x768 resolution.  Anyways, just to make this post have SOMETHING to do with cartoons, I'll just say that I'm loving Harvey Beaks (the show, not the character; but I guess he's okay, too).  It's got fun characters, and episodes that teach meaningful lessons in a subtle way.  I've finished season 1, and I'm going to start season 2 soon.  Oh, and my favorite character is definitely Fee.  I'm going to be inconsolable when this show ends.  I can't say for sure, but I might try to fit it in my top 10.

what happened to make the series/franchise go south?  Was there creative changes or was it just whole sale changes on the entire team?

I remember watching the sporadic episode many years ago and enjoyed it.  WAnting to get into it again, but hearing stuff after a certain point is not very good is concerning

Based on what EccentricOne and DRX said, the first 3 series are the ones to watch.  I'll pass on the 4th series and the recent reboot, since those are the ones that are apparently bad.  Also, EccentricOne described what happened to the 4th series, if that helps you at all.
