Gib custom title with vivid magenta text thx :') Well tbh I still have access to staff channels and I'm still open to kfx requests every now and then anyways. I have a lot going on both irl and stuff to finish off with subbing so I'm a bit busy. With that said I currently don't have interest in typesetting or muxing which I'm guessing would be further towards what you would be looking for. I'm better off just floating round, and if you want some kfx you can always try asking me and I'll see whether it's something I have interest/time for. Also I feel like you misremember my time on the team, I did nothing lol, I took on way more than I could handle and ended up dropping everything. At that point I couldn't really typeset and had no idea how kfx worked either... Either way kind of you to say that but I think I'm best staying "retired" a.k.a. where no one has expectations lol

haii I'm dead :3 genuinely though, pink cross looked cool and I left project staff, felt like the right career move at the time...
  3. Yo,

Just sampling things here, anyone interested in learning about kfx/song-styling etc could you please answer a few questions, you can be someone who knows nothing of these topics or maybe you want help with more complex elements, whatever it is both sides of the spectrum would be really helpful. Any input is appreciated.

What do you want to know or learn about these topics?

Do you have an interest in general discussion and commentary on these topics (e.g posts about examples from popular groups/opinionated stuff)?

How much do you know about the fansubbing process in general? (timing/TS, etc)

In what ways would you like to learn about these topics, e.g. principle/concept or possibly by example? perhaps a combination of the two?

Please send me a pm with a subject including kfx or something if you have the time to respond to any of the above. Thank you!

  6. Just curious I have a few questions surrounding this, what considers linking software? for example if I link a reddit or other forum like page that may also contain a software download is this a violation of the rules? (this is a question both if the intention is to direct the user to download a program and if not and its coincidental that software links also reside on the linked page) also are we still allowed to recommend and reference the use of software that doesn't meet the conditions above if we cannot directly link it? I can give a few examples if need be. Should also note furthering the first questions can I in anyway give the destination or how to find software that does not meet the above criteria on this forum? Also is linking an official page i.e the company who made the software considered reputable? E: @IkarosBD

Hi all, i'm not a robot

sounds like something a bot would say for sure
  9. My best friend was studying computer science, I have interest in technology and its applications and I played around with .bat scripts and other stupid stuff and enjoyed it so thought I would give it a try. Every other day give or take. Not very long as usually I'm working on coursework which is small short term stuff, nothing too complex. As for the other stuff you said you can learn whatever you like but imo learn to create useful well-made programs before doing cross platform stuff. Yes syntax isn't as important the concepts for sure but not knowing syntax will kill any kind of workflow tbh. Also should note I am really not qualified to give technical advice I am still new to this myself, I am sure there are many others on the site who can help you far more than I can.
  10. Fundamentals will remain relevant whatever, more specialised/current stuff not so sure, but that is the case with all fields and professions they are never completely static, (well there probably are exceptions but you get the idea). How do you know if its up to date, hmm if you are looking at something that is constantly developing then you will have to check yourself, not all material on everything is always up to date of course but again a lot of programming is built around principles which shouldn't shift too often. I haven't been programming very long at all, less than a year, I am hoping to pick up programming as a career path yes, I'm not 100% sure exactly what I want to go into just yet but I have a good idea.
  11. don't be, learn from the ground up at your own pace, get interested in the subject and your curiosity will soon overcome any apprehension you have. Its a big world out there and there are infinite things one can hope to learn which is daunting I get that, but honestly don't be afraid everyone starts somewhere no matter how basic your level the more you research and look into things the more informed you will become. There are so many tutorials/books/forums insert whatever medium you like here to learn programming, so just get stuck in, if you need sources I may be of less help here due to me using university restricted material a lot of the time but I can recommend a few books and places to look. also your questions 1) It helps but honestly no, learn fundamentals then specialise as you go 2) Of course the more you know the better I recommend learning one language at a high level of understanding and then learning after that should be far simpler and at that point you should be more aware of programming in general and hopefully you have an idea of what languages you wish to learn to accomplish your goals.
  12. as someone who is learning via an academic route (university course) largely the main factor to learning fast is exposing yourself to lots of code and writing lots of code, importantly though maintaining good practices and correcting yourself as you go is super important when you're starting out, I'm still very new to things so I won't go in to detail but start by writing super simple programs like printing words, scanning for input in the console, learn to understand and use loops etc. (I am primarily learning java)

    MKV vs MP4

You should respect other peoples opinions regardless in my opinion of whether you agree or not. Elaboration/detail That pretty much explains things from my position, I take it most of your library consists of itunes or similar web-rips? Elaboration/detail No I don't think you are nor would you be upsetting anyone by convincing them that .mp4 may be a better way to go. I would say you may upsetting or frustrating others but that rather speaks of your behaviour and attitude. Elaboration/detail In future if you wish to reply more than once before someone else comments please edit your original comment instead of double/triple posting. Its very annoying when users do this as it results in a flood of notifications for literally no reason at all. if you reply to this in a mature manor I will respond accordingly if not I apologise but I have better things to do than play games with someone who can't discuss things maturely. TL;DR Just make your case and respond properly to theirs and the discussion will become more productive and informative for both parties. The main reason I think we are hitting a point where we diverge is that I am here for entirely different content in terms of quality and overall functionality as are many other people in this thread. Also a quick word of advice; irrespective of whether someone is "right" or "wrong" opening your mind to new ideas and listening to others allows you to learn and explore ideas you never would on your own, people are full of amazing facts/stories/opinions and I guess some are full of shit but listen nonetheless Edit: you apparently said END OF DEBATE so I guess that settles that, nice one.

are you here for cartoons or anime (or both) ?

    MKV vs MP4

uhh this thread >.< I have no authority here and I'm not really that interested in the question being asked here but look, @Samue1 if you wish to debate something at least respond to the concerns raised by others in a mature manor, @Hark0n made some very valid arguments which pretty much sum up why everyone around here tends to prefer .mkv and you have yet to respond to him properly. At the very least could you stop posting petty call outs with statements like "I win" or "So MP4 WINS!" or "Try to beat that" its silly and doesn't actually contribute to the question being asked and at the end of the day you can't expect everyone to agree either way. Just please be respectful of other peoples opinions.
