  1. Well, Anyway I'm looking for some recommendations. I only recently started getting into Subtitled Anime. I enjoyed the new Tri-gun movie which I believe is getting an english dub soon, Not sure on that one. I also enjoyed Kampfer, and Infinite Stratos. I'm caught up with what's currently available of Mayo Chiki!. I'm watching Dragon Crisis. And I have all the current episodes of both No.6 and usagi drop(I don't really even know what those 2 are about, Just downloaded them on a whim.). I'm not too picky, but if there's an english dub, I'd rather watch that. So Anything you consider good or great that is just japanese would be fine.

I guess there is something I am a bit picky about. The reason I've avoided subtitled anime for so long is what I had seen in the past was really hard to follow. The characters would start talking and the screen would fill with text that would disappear in the blink of an eye. Then I would either have to pause it or rewind. Kinda took the fun out of the shows. I'm thinking about downloading some of the Gundam series that haven't gotten an english dub yet. Hopefully they are easy to keep up with.

All of the anime I mentioned have been really easy to follow, except for an episode or 2 that the people who subtitled them started translating everything that popped up on the screen.

  2. If I were you I would just stick with Jdownloader... It can forcefully resume. So even if you have to wait a day or 2, you should at least be able to finish the download. I've never had too many problems this way...

Edit: I suppose I should mention that it's ability to resume kinda depends on the service. I don't think it works with Fileserve unless you have an account.

  3. Normally I would recommend WD as well. My first external was a 250 GB WD MyBook, I had it for close to 6 years before replacing it and giving it to a friend. He still uses it. I replaced it with a 2TB WD which lasted for maybe 4 months before the USB controller Fried. At least I think it was the USB controller. Anyway, that has also been replaced. I'm using a Seagate(I've never been a fan of Seagate) Freeagent Goflex Desk 2TB. This one is a bit different. The reason I purchased it is because the Hard Drive and the Controllers are separate. The Hard Drive sits in a little Dock that for example if I had bought a USB 2 drive. I can order a new base that simply upgrade the drive to USB 3. So while I may be delusional in thinking this way. I'm assuming that if the USB controller burns I can simply order a new one. Now that I've said that. It's going to happen and I'm going to be disappointed when it doesn't work... ;)

  4. I prefer 480 for the most part. Mostly because it downloads faster. but for a select few I'll go for 720. FMAB, and Gundam 00 both look amazing on my Monitor which is 1366x768. But I have to shut everything off on my little Netbook to do it... Yes, My Netbook is hooked up to a monitor. If I leave anything running the Audio and video start to drop out of sync. Well, with a High quality 720 anyway... Low quality ones don't tax the computer at all..

As for Coke or Pepsi, I prefer Coke! Pepsi just tastes dry to me..

  5. In that case, I'd add Minecraft and a Super Nintendo Emulator... Although, Minecraft may be a bit too much... Not for the computer. Rather, If you get sucked into those type of games, then you may want to avoid minecraft.

I'll leave you with that, Enjoy!

  6. With me, it really depends on whether I have time or not. And how much I like the Anime. Although I usually try to limit myself to 2-5 episodes every couple days. I have been known to re-arrange my work schedule to watch anime. When I felt like re-watching Gundam 00 a few months back I changed my days off and finished it in 2 days... And for the last two weeks, I've been watching 8 - 12 episodes each night.

At the moment I'm still trying to recover the shows that I lost when I hard drive died. So I find myself re-watching some of my favorites to keep from watching the newer stuff right away. That way it can build up a bit. I like to have alot of options when I'm really bored and then I can blast through it. I need to visit my brother. His drive has most of what I lost(his drive is essentially a mirror of my old one), then I can get back to normal. As it is at the moment, I've got 5 or 6 series that I recently downloaded that I've been avoiding and there's maybe 5 others that I haven't watched yet. Not really sure on that one... but there was atleast 20 or 30 other shows I hadn't seen yet on that drive.

  7. I usually use my PC. But I'll use my Zune HD to plug into my Television when I really want to. But that also requires so re-encoding to mp4. which is why I still prefer my PC... You could try some of the advanced Media players that have come to the market. Here's one that appears to require some form of usb Memory...

My local best Buy carries something like this one... It has a Built in 1TB hard drive and does all kinds of streaming alongside local content supposedly including MKV. but I would research these things thoroughly so that you don't get disappointed..

  8. I Really loved the first 2 games. My opinion of the 3rd is essentially the same as yours... although the game seemed more like a precursor to something bigger. I thinks that's exactly what it is. It's a prequel to whatever comes next. I expect a huge story and more access to the world in the next game. If there is one...

Now back to the GBA games... GS:TLA was awesome! even after the game was finished, me and several of my friends continued to train our characters and battle them. I think all but three of the 8 characters on my game are maxed. Not sure... haven't booted the game up in a while. but once we all had at least 4 maxed characters. it became who had the best character class and the most items. It was alot of fun.

  9. I have Minecraft as well... But it won't run on this little netbook.

At any rate. I've put in more hours on terraria than most console games or handheld games... It's been great. especially the boss battles. although the game does get a bit boring once you've got the best Weapons and Armor...

  10. seems I forgot about this thread... Too much Terraria I guess. ;) Yeah, I imagine they took some inspiration from Minecraft. I've found several games that have. There's even a cool Voxel based RPG that I found the other day... Still really early in development though...

  11. Well... Out of boredom, I have started going through my Anime Backups from before I got my External... Just looking for something to watch while I re-Download some of the Anime that was waiting to be watched on said External Drive.... I'd say I have Half maybe less but nearly half right here sitting in Spindals... I have all of the Gundam series Minus Unicorn... Which I'm starting to order on DVD anyway...

I Think I'll start with Darker than black...

on another note... Anyone in KC wanna go to the burial? I'll be throwing my External drive in the dumpster tomorrow. Anyone is welcome to watch... It'll only take a minute...
