Ah, the old forums.kametsu.com sub-domain. Well that would be it then, because it was never configured for SSL. I had forgotten about that redirect cause it happened like 3 years ago.

Kind of surprised to hear anyone would have still been using it after all this time...

I ran into the same issue. took me a little bit to find my way around it.

  2. I still play harvest moon on the SNES. Love it. I have a tale of 2 towns for the DS. But I haven't had time to play it yet... I always pick up the harvest moon games when I can. Some are great others not so much. I'd say my favorites are part of the spin off series. Rune Factory. It's like half Harvest moon and half dungeon crawler.

  3. Super Offroad on the SNES. There's just something about a top down single screen racer.

As far as newer racing games go. Cruisin USA, newer still, Excite Truck on the Wii. I also enjoy racers like Hydro Thunder, Offroad Thunder, and NFS Hot pursuit 2(The PS2 version to be specific, The Xbox pc gamecube version sucked. Yes, I bought them all.:()

I've also spent alot of time on various versions of Gran Turismo.

  4. Is this a Laptop or a Desktop computer? You might try cleaning that key but you risk breaking it, and on a laptop that might not be a good idea. If you have a normal keyboard it would be as simple as replacing it...

Edit: I can't make the message go away using that little check box either... so your going to need to do something about that key...

  5. Personally, I think a PC with a game pad is superior to a Console. It's so much easier to play a FPS with the majority of the extra controls and movement mapped to the left half of a DualShock style game pad while still using a mouse to aim.

But then I still have a tendency to pull out my NES and SNES for some Console gaming goodness.

  6. You could try Eureka Seven. Although one of the main characters is very annoying... Soul Eater is another good choice. Those are both in the 50 episode range. Umm. Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple is another good one. Lots of action and it's very funny. Also in the 50 episode category... I can't think of anything else right now...

Edit: Thought of another one... Darker than Black. It was somewhere around 25 or 26 episodes... But now there's a new season Box set coming out... So that should put it around 50 as well...

Edit: Just noticed you mentioned Highschool of the Dead. I enjoyed that one... Kinda a Mix of action and fanservice.

  7. I have 1 episode that has been dubbed. I found it on another forum... But the voices weren't the same. I think it was an Animax dub. Either way I didn't pay any more attention to it after that... I'd rather wait for Funimation to do it...

    Edit:

Just checked the thread, 4 episodes were uploaded before the uploader seemed to stop and they were recorded from Animax India.

  8. Office work, Try out the keyboard on one first... I don't mean put your hands on it and see how it feels... I mean really type something drawn out. Those keys really are small. You could get used to them. I did, But I've been using a normal keyboard for a while now. and it's really hard to go back to that little keyboard.

  9. I think I should add something here... My netbook plays 720p to my external monitor just fine. I don't have any problems unless the virus scanner start kicking around for whatever reason. My mom's Netbook had the Starter edition that Koby is talking about. There are ways around not being able to change the wallpaper but it annoyed her so much that She payed the $80 something to upgrade to Home Premium. And her Netbook has no trouble with 720 videos either...

Oh and as for editing the settings on programs with Hi-Res Windows. Once again there are work arounds... I have some software called Netbook Resolution customiser. Works like a charm...

Honest opinion... If it's going to be your only Computer. Then avoid the little guys like the plague. But as an extra machine they are wonderful.

Oh, on another note... If you have a Zune then you really don't want a Netbook. that software is not optimized to run on a 1.6 Ghz dual Core... It's a pain... And I hate it...

  10. I wouldn't worry too much about your laptop.. You've got it on a cooling pad which is a good idea. But most modern laptops simply shut off when they hit a certain temperature. My Netbook has gone up to around 160 something with out shutting off. One of my co-workers has a laptop that won't run without a Cooling pad. I don't know what temp it hits but after a couple minutes it just shuts off...

On another note, I've never heard of a desktop computer running hot. My old desktop never went over 110. And I don't know of anyone that has had any issues that were temp related on a desktop machine...

    Edit:

My Netbook is currently running at 136 F. Without a cooling pad and it's rather normal for it. I'd be more worried about keeping the vents clean and that the fan doesn't have alot of dust buildup...
