Almost everything is always FL as is, so AB FL time is a joke really. I've barely touched my ratio because 95% of stuff I've downloaded there was FL always.

1080p and ISOs are almost always if not always free leech anyways, but I took advantage of it to grab some 720p and 480p only shows.

I wish less stuff was FL personally so I could actually gain some download cred to obtain the achievements and increase my account percentile rankings. 5d56acbfcf.png

  2. Can someone upload just the subs from deanzel's release of Ping Pong for me please?

Sure @Imagine Breaker, thanks a ton. Almost at my cap sadly, can't spare the bandwidth - I don't wanna risk hitting the cap and being SOL for basic email n stuff later in the month.

Thanks a ton man. I'll let you know once it's all good.

  3. For anyone interested in dual audio 720p WEBRips of One PIece, cloaknsmoke seems to be going back and redoing his batches in HD, starting with season 7. For those curious about the 10 SD episodes in that season, he used the special edition upscale for consistency.

Well, I imagine he will - this is prolly what he'll be doing to pass the time in between new Funimation voyages. It isn't a lot of work either, all he's doing is muxing HorribleSubs video to his DVDRips, minus the commentary. Looks like they're converting his SRT subs to ASS subs as well, but I doubt they're styled or anything. Either way, with all of this stuff accounted for, it shouldn't take them much time at all to surpass Choey's releases.

  4. Gonna be sick. A copy of Danganronpa 2 should be in my hands this Thursday, and prolly done by Sunday - only took me 1 weekend to finish the first. Gonna watch the anime (based HTT), look for a copy of Ultra Despair Girls, hopefully play that and then start the wait for this. Hopefully I'll have some more disposable income by the release of Super Danganronpa V3 so I can just buy it from retail on release rather than hold off and hope for a good deal online. P.S. - If you're new to the series, just go in blind. I was spoiled for the first game but luckily I'm going in blind for the second. The first was soooo good, even with spoilers. Without, it would have been a fair bit better, but it's an amazing game either way.
  5. Holy crap - FLCL is getting 2 more 6 episode seasons from Toonami and Production I.G. It's been confirmed that both seasons will be direct continuations too.

Apparently it's just one 12 episode season after all. ANN misreporting as usual smh.

  6. I'm hearing about issues with registration from people trying to sign up. Apparently the sign up email is coming up blank. Idk, I couldn't register until I tried using Twitter myself. Anyhow, figured I would let you know.

Yeah, I don't know what the issue was. I just told the guy to make a burner Twitter account and try to sign up that way.

    3. Koby

      Koby

Did they never receive the email, or they got it but it had no content in it? O.o

    4. PDoggy77

      PDoggy77

That's what they said. They were able to get in with Twitter though, so it shouldn't be an issue for now.

  7. For anyone interested in my encodes, I'm currently working on Ducktales, Pokemon Origins, Samurai Jack and the Johnny Bravo holiday specials. I might work on Azumanga Daioh, One Piece, Goof Troop and/or Peanuts, but due to the various issues with those projects they're on hold and I won't guarantee I'll be able to do them. Thanks.

And as for the Dragon Ball project, it doesn't look like we were actually going to be able to get all the sources anyways. Not necessarily dropped, but I'm doubtful it'll happen at this rate.

    3. PDoggy77

      PDoggy77

I'll still work on those first 4 because I've gotten a good bit into them all. All the others were missing sources or needed to be redone.

    4. PDoggy77

      PDoggy77

And I meant One Piece as in One Piece 4kids. Not interested in the Funimation dub or any subbed releases.

  8. I would encode to 448kbps AAC if you really need to save space - 384kbps is transparent, but I would still stick to 448kbps if you can store it.

  10. Oh, and of course Nyaa is back down again, after about a half hour of up time. Jfc, they need to figure their shit out already. It's been like this for over a week now, no?

Oh, great. Didn't this happen last year too, some basement dweller buying up a bot net and DDoSing all the anime sites for a few weeks? Probably the same one.

  11. Cinema isn't supposed to look like a video game. The whole point is that you're supposed to feel as though you're indirectly observing, not directly experiencing. Video games have a high frame rate because it's supposed to immerse you in something, to make you feel as though that is actually what you're doing. Movies aren't supposed to make you feel as though you're doing something, but to feel as though you're watching someone do something. Completely different purposes. Think about it this way - when you watch Cowboy Bebop, the point of the show is to enjoy Spike's adventures, not to think what your adventures might be like. I, amongst many others, think we need to progress past this stage in media of shitty gimmicks like HFR and 3D, and instead focus more on the content of the media itself. Thank fully, most companies aren't adopting 48fps never mind anything above it - it's pretty safe to say 48fps, 60fps media etc. won't happen, thank god. If anything, you are the one who is anti progression. TL:DR Movies aren't video games. Don't be one of the idiots that confuses or tries to dilute the two together. EDIT - I meant the TL;DR as more of a wide response, rather than one directed at Professa X
  12. That's a shame about your old 40". Anyhow, I would just stick with that plan in your situation - 4K is still kind of pointless. I only bought 4K because it beat all the specs of the 1080p TV I was going to buy, and so happened to be on sale at the same time.
  13. 60fps, for film and television, is hideous. If I wanted to watch something with motion like that, I would go to a stage play or watch a soap opera. Proper cinematic content should always be 24fps, nothing more. Besides, no one's going to want to deal with the effort of animating twice as many frames for even 48fps, never mind even 60fps. 4K is great, but frame rate should always stay at 24fps - anything above just looks too fast, ruins any kind of cinematic feel.
  14. OK, second time around - I've found a complete collection of all the episodes of Kirby - Right Back at Ya!. All logoless until episode 51, after which the episodes are rather noisy TVRips. Most of them are stretched out though, so I plan to try to fix them at some point.

      Are they Xvid or H.264?

    3. PDoggy77

      PDoggy77

H.264 - sadly, they're all YouTube rips, as it turns out. Nonetheless, still the best there is. Pretty sure there just aren't any torrents for this particular dub.

    4. Bonkfast

      Bonkfast

I think most of them were actually from 4Kids' old streaming side. They stopped around the 50s, and I remember seeing them on some other sites before the Kirby Channel was created. (Said channel showed all 100.)

I just wish I could find 96-99 in their complete, non-movie formats but I can only find episode 100 (and it has a logo on it). utsosuki (sp?) from [C-W] did 96-99 (going by Japanese numbering) awhile ago, but those torrents are now dead.

  15. Hey guys. Recently got a 4K TV (as in about a year ago now), albeit it is an older model from 2014 or so. I know there isn't much actual 4K media out yet, but I've found some short films and nature stuff here and there that's looked amazing. Tears of Steel is a good tech demo, for those wanting to see what true 4K looks like on their 4K panels. I'm pretty excited for 4K BluRay though. I plan on getting The Martian, Sicario, Kingsman and The Peanuts Movie once I can get my hands on a player. Not sure if my TV can do HDR, but that shouldn't be an issue - pretty sure most 4K-BRs will have it as an option. Anyone else have any plans for 4K TVs or 4K BluRays? I'm afraid a lot of recent stuff will be upscaled, seeing as a lot of special effects for recent movies were delivered in 2K, such as The Maze Runner, and sadly, Kingsman iirc.
  16. Anyone have any knowledge when it comes to fixing frame blended 29.97 content? Trying to get a 1080p copy of an otherwise 720p only show out there, but the only 1080p source suffers from frame blending and aliasing issues.

  17. Any Brazilian speaking users here? Found raw files for Irmao do Jorel that need subbing. Someone's already subbed two of the episodes, but if someone could help me create a definitive and consistent set for the whole series, our files would, of course, be the superior set.

  18. Anyone interested in Sym-Bionic Titan? I've found 720p HDTV copies of episode 11 and 12, both of which weren't covered by the scene release groups that did the rest of the show.

I guess we'll have to deal with the 720 copies from the TV with a logo. Or we can eventually get these DVDs from Australia in April.

    3. PDoggy77

      PDoggy77

True. I'll see about grabbing these HDTV rips, they're on my seedbox as of now. I'm seeding for another day or so, so if you want them now would be a good time to get them.

  19. So, if anyone here was working with DD-2.0 mono 448kbps audio, would y'all keep both duplicate channels or down sample to 1 channel?

  20. Wow, with the right configs, HEVC can work wonders. I've been able to produce a lossless encode of The Boondocks at 150MB, without encoding audio, just optimizing video. Shit's crazy. I've been working at CRF19 though, so I might up it to CRF18 and see where that takes me. Here are some screens I took of a CRF19 sample I made a while ago, so not quite the quality I'm playing with now. Screens - screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/160092/

    4. PDoggy77

      PDoggy77

Yeah, I understand that it looks bad, but what I was trying to get across is that it's still very close, I would say near indistinguishable but that might just be me, to the source. The encode looks bad, but again that's because the best source is the season set DVDs, and all of those DVDs were 360p upscales to begin with, so it would never look good. Encodes can still look close, which is what I was trying to demonstrate.

  21. Wow, MeGUI is great. Perfect balance between the customization of command line encoders and the ease of GUI encoders :)

  22. Annd someone's beaten me to releasing a dual audio copy of Pokemon Origins. He used crappy subs though, and the release seems bloated IMO, looks like he used ABR, which I wouldn't bother using on an HD encode. So I'll continue working on my release :)

    2. PDoggy77

      PDoggy77

Where does it say he used CRF18?

    3. Koby
    4. PDoggy77

      PDoggy77

Ah, I see. I figured he used CRF because he listed the encode bitrates at ~7700kbps, just figured he used that as an ABR. Looks like a nice encode to me! Either way, I still plan on working on mine since I've worked on dub subs already. I might use a lower CRF too, I haven't actually encoded anything yet, just been working on getting the audio and subs all fixed up.

  23. TIL - Syncing audio is a complete PITA. Props to everyone who's synced up stuff by hand before - just now feeling it's extent of totally sucking.

  24. So I'm working on Pokemon Origins again. Any how, there are 3 options for the English dub.

    1) - AC3-2.0 192kbps ADC DVD

    2) - AAC-2.0 192kbps CodeDonut WEB

    3) - AAC-2.0 160kbps Pikanet8 WEBDL

I'll need to encode the end song from the JP audio and splice that in, as none of the dub sources have the end song included, they just cut off at the end of the episode. Any ideas/suggestions?

    1. Koby

      Koby

What source is that CodeDonut release? Typically at same bitrates if encoded ideally; AAC would be better since it compresses better than AC3. However depending on actual source and the encode method it's not necessarily going to be the outcome. So I'd probably just go with the DVD audio option and as always don't encode lossy audio. Since you're splicing in audio, in the end I'd say the codec of the JP audio would sway the decision. You'd be better off appending rather than encoding. Encoding lossy audio always creates further loss. So if the JP audio is AAC; go with the AAC option and append the audio together with no encoding required.

    2. PDoggy77

      PDoggy77

I'm encoding the Japanese BD, so the Japanese audio is ~1500kbps PCM (or good enough to encode and use as a source for the ED song). I'm planning on encoding that in FLAC, but if I end up needing to drop the file size I may go with AAC instead. I think I'll encode the Japanese audio to the same specs as the DVD and splicing the ED song in, since the DVD is the highest quality dub audio there is considering it's the only English retail release out there. Apart from that, there's just those sketchy WEB sources.
