Definitely re:zero. I can't really fault its first cour. I thoroughly enjoyed each episode, and if you've watched it, I think we can all agree that that scene can go added to hall of best VA moments in anime history. Additionally, props are due for the animator that got the facial expressions to match Subaru's voice so well.

RWBY fan-art. Be wary if you try to find it, 'cos it's a part of a SFW/NSFW mix and the NSFW content might make normies run away scared.

A friend from Anime Anarchy/Cartoon-World referred me.

It's not just the bad animation you need to deal with though, it's just a poor anime in general. I grew up with Dragon Ball, i'm a massive fan, but even as big a fan as i am, i can't ignore how bad it is. In my opinion, it's worse than GT.
GT was an oddity. I suppose, objectively, it is currently much better than Super. I'm happy the latter when back to the Tournament archetype, as that's always fun, but I feel a lot of characters have changed subtly, in a way I don't like. This could potentially be because of how're they come off with their japanese actors, something I'm not used to at all. The english BDs will assist in given a final verdict to the series.

They fixed the animation of ep5 for the JPBD (not sure if other episodes were touched). DB Super animation even fixed up is still average at best though. I think at this point everyone should be in the mindset that Toei is a crappy animation studio. World Trigger suffered animation blunders as well and the animation quality of One Piece has degraded over time. That said, at least they tried to repair the worst of Super.
I could understand One Piece, though. I didn't like it one bit, but I could understand why the animation quality fluctuated. I dunno, I guess I just expected better from DBZ, but even then, One Piece's animation has generally stayed away from the type of low level quality Super has managed to sink to.

Unfortunately Kai Buu is only edited for like 10 episodes, then they got lazy said f*** it and just re-released it unedited. So the only difference to the DBZ release would be the new dubbing. Kai Buu leaves all the filler in the show.
Seriously? That's totally lame. I'm all about consistency, so this really annoys me. As for Super, I hope the BDs for DBZ Super improve the animation-- oh, how I hope to the gods they fix it.

My MAL advises that I have completed 442 as of now.

yep, the Question is what anime shows have emotionally affected you in what way?
No, no, no-- I am The Question, heh. Anyway, what's 'emotionally affected' me is more broad than asking which made me cry, which I like.
Obviously, Clannad ~ After Story made my eyes watery.
I was surprised when Death Parade got a reaction out of me. It really laid on the heavy feels fast. I wasn't prepared at all.
The final battle of Ghost in the Shell: SAC affected me. It was a moving moment in the series. -
My recommendation is The Twelve Kingdoms. It has great world building, a diverse range of deep characters and an engaging story.
The last arc is rather long, so buckle yourself in. -
I'm keeping myself from having any expectations for this movie, or, at least, I'm trying. Honestly, I don't have high hopes, but I want to be wrong. I want to be wrong so badly.

While I watched many anime as a child, thinking of them as just 'cartoons', it was Naruto that properly brought me into the anime world.

I have a few series that I've dropped, but choosing one: Guilty Crown
Season one was barely good enough to keep me, but then it got worse with the second cour, so I dropped it. -
I'm not so committed as to take pictures despite my relatively small collection, but the series I have hard copies of are:
- Fullmetal Alchemist
- Dragonball Z Movies: 1-5
- Chobits
- Baki the Grappler
- Trigun

I read the title thinking you were referring to The Twelve Kingdoms, which, if you liked Kingdom, you should like TTK as well. I actually haven't watched Kingdom yet, but your post has convinced me. I've been looking for a good anime with a good amount of episodes to chew on. Thank you!

You've been provided two options. I would personally go with Koby's suggestion, if only because it's my personal opinion that the Arise series is horrible and shouldn't have been made, and I would hate for someone to needlessly start with what I consider to the worst of the franchise as a whole.

If I had to choose now, it'd be the movies. I haven't played any of the games since Ruby and the anime lost its appeal, but the movies were a different breed. Even now, I still enjoy the old movies.

I've never watched anything I wasn't willing to, so I have no regrets.

I tend to watch anime over reading manga, but this is purely because I'm a lazy cunt. If there's an airing series that only adapts part of a manga, I'll go read the rest if the anime was good, e.g. One Punch Man.
In fact, I actively avoid reading the manga of an airing anime until its complete, because, unfortunately for me, a large part of what makes watching anime so fun is wondering what's going to happen next. If I read the manga, it takes away that aspect. It's not so bad for light novels, since they're a significantly less amount of pictures. -
Do you have a MAL (My Anime List)? This will help us know what you've already watched. Your request is very general and without something to reference, it's a shot in the dark. As a starters, since I think a lot of people do skip it: Moribito - Guardian of the Spirit
One of my all-time favourite series and one of very few anime I've given a perfect score.-

Within the two weeks, I have watched:
- Bakemono no Ko
- Mardock Scramble Trilogy
- When Marie Was There
- Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru
- Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Zoku
I've also recently re-watched:
-
While I'm certainly no stranger to the franchise, having listened to countless soundtracks, watched the movies, seen the cosplays, etc, I've never played any Final Fantasy games, I've been getting bored lately and I recently listened to this amazing english cover of 1000 words, and by coincidence, I learnt of this remaster being released on steam very soon (less than half a day!).
I think this will be the first FF game I play. -
I've found them sufficient. All they do is grab subs from somewhere else; they do not translate anything themselves. For series that're airing, they're more than enough. When Crunchyroll was first becoming a thing and HorribleSubs reared its head for the first time, I actually dislike them a lot. My favourite fansub group at the time, Dattebayo, closed down because of Crunchyroll, but due to a misunderstanding, my anger turned towards HS.
