  1. If it's not made clear already, this Captain Marvel is about the MCU movie & character Carol Danvers, not the title Shazam from DC (though he was created by Fawcett Comics before it was absorbed into DC & was called CM for a while) used to have. Moving on... Captain Marvel is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is intended to be the twenty-first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is written and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, with Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Liz Flahive, and Carly Mensch also contributing to the screenplay. Brie Larson stars in the title role, alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, Mckenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law. Plot: Set in the mid-1990s, Captain Marvel follows Carol Danvers, a former military U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, as she turns into one of the galaxy's mightiest heroes and joins Starforce, an elite Kree military team, before returning home with new questions about her past and identity when the Earth is caught in the center of an intergalactic conflict between two alien worlds. Release Date: March 8, 2019 (US) And we got our first trailer today:
  2. Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I'm really like it so far.
  3. We see another Smile user, a tall horse woman named Lady Speed, & it seems Holdem's stomach even has a name, Kamijiro. And apparently Kaido's right hand man Jack survived somehow. And just as an in-disguise Law will fight Hawkins, Luffy gives Holdem a well-deserved Red Hawk. Nice!
  4. Tessa Thompson is gonna be voicing Lady in this movie. Though according to some idiots on the internet, that's apparently 'race-bending' & that no one but white actors should do all the roles in something like this.
  5. With the current arc the anime is in, it's been announced the manga will end in 5 or so chapters. While I'm sad that one of my favorite series ever is gonna end soon, it was bound to happen & it's preferable than dragging on for too long.
  6. And in this week's chapter, Luffy utterly destroys Urashima at sumo wrestling, sending the big fat loser flying into Holdem's house, bringing it down & starting a fire. Now with Holdem out in the open with Tama in his grasp, Luffy, Zoro, & O-Kiku ready themselves to get her back - all while Hawkins rushes back to Bakura Town to intercept the Straw Hats, & Law's group probably not gonna make it in time.
  7. I got more laughs out of seeing the Lion Smile boss and him arguing with his lion stomach. And wow we got to see O-Kiku in action, cutting off the knot of that annoying sumo. More ass-kicking to come, I'm sure.
  8. Crazy Rich Asians. I never read the book it's based or even heard of it, but as someone going in blind, as well as being an Asian American, I enjoyed the movie. I don't often read/watch romcoms, but I do recommend it. Of course something like this probably isn't for everybody.
  9. Not sure why OP was on break last week, but hey, we got a new chapter this week. After a little more exposition on what's going on in Wano, we see some of the Smile-enhanced folks show their faces - and OMG there's an actual Batman now in OP. Makes me wonder if his parents dying is why he's where he is in life now, or if yelling 'Martha!' will make him have a change of heart. Either way, we see Luffy, Zoro, & their new friend charge in to save the little girl - and Law at the end also about to get up and take action.
  10. You mean the 2018 live-action Tomb Raider movie? If so, you're in the wrong section.
  11. The Meg. I never read the book this was based on, but I thought the movie was ok. And this is the first shark movie I've seen in years from start to finish.
  12. OP is back this week. Luffy & Zoro have a brief fight with Hawkins & his group, before getting the little girl the help she needs. And while we don't see Law, we do see some of his subordinates like Bepo at the end. Wonder how he & his crew have been doing.
  13. Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle. Wow it was... actually kinda depressing. Well, looking to see how this anime movie trilogy concludes near the end of the year. And I'm certainly excited for King of the Monsters in May 2019.
  14. OP is on break next week. But before that, Luffy got a little more backstory on how the 2 people he's come across know Ace, as well as what happened to Wano when Kaidou showed up. Along the way of getting the girl a doctor, as well as some food, he reunited to Zoro! And they're about to stir more trouble now that Hawkins as found them. Oh this'll be good.
  15. I wouldn't be surprised if the Wano arc is another long one, but I too hope it doesn't drag. Huh, so Ace is brought up once more in this week's chapter. And we see Hawkins again as well. Wonder if it'll be Luffy or another Straw Hat he'll run into first - unless he already has and just will look for Luffy.
  16. Ant-Man and the Wasp. It was a lot of fun.
  17. So now Luffy's group has made it Wano. Funny how he used those 2 giant koi fish to bring them up there. And at the end with just Luffy and seeing 2 big monsters about to go at it kinda reminds me of the start of Strong World. This is gonna be good.
  18. The live-action shorts that were made to promote the games starting with Halo 3 (2007) were pretty neat. Then the web series Forward Unto Dawn (2012) came along & it was also really good. Nightfall (2014) wasn't. And I understand even the frustrations people have with the recent games now that they're no longer made under Bungie, but I'm still a fan of this franchise. Having heard news about a Halo tv show being made, I'm surprised to hear any progress whatsoever. Here's hoping this new show turns out good.
  19. After seeing where Marco's been, we finally see the rest of the Straw Hats fitting in well at Wano. Who knew Robin would make a great geisha. But then Zoro had to break cover, but he is sorry about it. So indeed, the Wano arc starts with some chaos!
  20. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Yes it has problems, but I kinda like it a little more than the first Jurassic World. Maybe it's just the dinosaur fan in me happy to still see movies like these.
