Born and raised Christian as well (Roman Catholic). I knew the first moment I clicked on this thread to read it that there would be debates about religion (well isn't that a surprise?
).I know that the Church hasn't been all good throughout history (it is and always has been run by people you know, people who can be greedy and crazy and just think about their own benefits). I do however also like the good things the Roman Catholic Church has done throughout history (charity for example).
So yeah, stuff like the Crusades and all were influenced by the Church. One thing I cannot stand though is fighting in the name of 'God'. Killing in his name is just stupid and pathetic. Fighting to protect and fighting for gain are two different things (depending on the perspective of the individual either can be misunderstood easily).
Anyway, everyone should have the right to believe what they want. As long as society is peaceful and happy carry on believing in what you want. Atheists and people who don't believe in God don't get any ill will from me. What made everything is the one question that people want answered. If God made everything what made God? What was the one thing in existence before everything else? Should we call that God? Whatever the case (I might be sounding crazy xD) I am not one of those Christians that will try to convert people to my faith. I am happy to be a Roman Catholic.
That is all.

Well anime and manga have given me great insight to Japan. At least it led me to learn more about the country. I was not prioritizing anime and manga over the loss of people (I have not put this in order and just wrote it in a short amount of time). Sorry If I offended anyone. But no matter the order of the things I refer to I give them all equal priority. Only the facts in this post were taken from an article the rest I wrote myself.

Photo By KIM KYUNG-HOON/REUTERSToday marks 1 year since the tsunami and earthquake incident that devastated Japan last year. It has killed over 19000 people. The earthquake was the strongest recorded in Japan's history, and set off a tsunami that swelled to more than 65 feet (20 meters) in some spots along the northeastern coast, destroying tens of thousands of homes and wreaking widespread destruction.
The tsunami also knocked out the vital cooling systems at the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant, causing meltdowns at three reactors and spewing radiation into the air. Some 100,000 residents who were forced to flee remain in temporary housing or with relatives, and a 12-mile (20-kilometer) area around the plant is still off-limits.
Some 325,000 people that were rendered homeless or evacuated are still in temporary housing. While much of the debris along the tsunami-ravaged coast has been gathered into massive piles, very little rebuilding has begun.
The government says the crippled Fukushima plant is stable and that radiation has subsided significantly, but the plant's chief acknowledged to journalists visiting the complex recently that it remains in a fragile state, and makeshift equipment — some mended with tape — could be seen keeping crucial systems running.
Enormous risks and challenges lie ahead at the plant, including locating and removing melted nuclear fuel from the inside of the reactors and disposing spent fuel rods. Completely decommissioning the plant could take 40 years.
The people of Japan have been tremendously brave and optimistic towards the recovery of their nation. This gives me nothing but the utmost respect for them.
I would like everyone to pray for the recovery of the nation that gives us the anime, manga and so many other things that we all hold so dear to us. My prayers and condolences to all the families who have their lost near and dear ones and also best wishes and prayers towards the recovery of Japan.

Seems like a perfect anime for me. It takes place on a school campus, which I always love, AND it has demons. What's not to love.? LOL
My thoughts exactly.
Not to forget the devils are damn hot. xD -

Very likely that we will get a third season. Reception for both season 1 and season 2 were very good. As Koby said the anime's genre is what's popular in Japan right now. I am up to date on the manga. It is still ongoing. I guess they will make a new season after finishing a couple more volumes perhaps. The story is a far from being over. I am really looking forward to another season of Sekirei. Thoroughly enjoyed the first two.

Like lordofelemental I watched these two shows together. At the time I really liked them both. I just didn't like how it was ended so abruptly. He passes out wakes up the end.
Something that really struck me though, since I watched both dbz and yu yu at the same time some thing I noticed is that the same voice actor who does Freeza does Genkai. How odd it was. First it was "mwaa ha ha ha I will destroy you", then on the next show it was "you dang fool".
O_O I've never even noticed that. Freeza and Genkai do have the same voice actor now that you mention it! Thanks for this info!

Either that or she's a tsundere.
By the way the anime is going Issei is probably going to end up with Rias and become the leader of the Gremory clan along with Rias (my thoughts on how it is going to end). I can be wrong though haha. This is just my guess on what is going to happen.

i feel that the op and ed of an anime are very important , i got attracted to some animes because of their songs , so i mostly watch them. In a case which i don't watch them is when the song doesn't fit the anime , and to me that happens very rarely
Totally agree. Music is very important when it comes to anime. It adds atmosphere, sets the mood and helps convey all the important emotions that were intended to be conveyed (well composed music of course and not only OP and ED themes, anime music in general). I have also been attracted to some anime just because of their songs/music.

Welcome to the Kametsu Forums! Hope you enjoy yourself here. It is a very informative and interesting place (as you will soon find out). I'd suggest you read the FAQ and stuff (I am a new member here as well and those helped clear out quite a lot of things for me).

Hmm, Issei needs to be pushed in order for him to achieve results. As we all can see though, enraging him is the best way to get good results out of him (pretty common archetype for a main male character if you ask me). Love the fanservice in the anime.
Hopefully I'll write a review for the anime after the first season has finished airing {and also after I have finished watching it (I know I state obvious things too often but I like it that way)}. -
Artist in the works. Working on improving both my traditional and digital artwork. http://pleasingordisturbing.deviantart.com/ Nothing great in it. Hope everyone enjoys my work.

Alternate Titles:
GOSICK, -ゴシック-, GOSICK, -Goshikku-
Type: TV
Episodes: 24
Status: Completed.
Aired: January 7, 2011 – July 2, 2011
Studio: Bones
Genres: Mystery, Romance, Comedy, Action, Detective.
Rating: Teen.
Plot and Settings:
Gosick takes place in 1924 in a small, French-speaking fictional European country, which stretches in a strip from Switzerland, through the alps between France and Italy, to the Mediterranean Sea. The country is called "Sauville" in the English translation of the light novels; it is called "Saubure" in the anime adaption. The story centers on Kazuya Kujo, the third son of a high ranking officer of Japanese Imperial Army, who is a transfer student to St. Marguerite Academy, where urban legends and horror stories are all the rage. There he meets Victorique, a mysterious yet beautiful and brilliant girl who never comes to class and spends her days reading the entire content of the library or solving mysteries that even detectives can't solve. The series mostly focuses on Kazuya and Victorique getting involved in different mystery cases and their struggle to solve them, at the same time forming important bonds with different people.

My Review:
Well according to me this anime is a must watch. Here are the reasons why:
1) Good story development. The story starts off in a very typical way. Guy meets mysterious girl that has super human abilities and such (not to forget the main female character Victorique is a drop dead beauty). I am not going to be specific as to what happens during the anime. You should find out yourself (and be surprised by the anime not me). The story will progress gradually and it will seem a bit slow at first but it will slowly pick up pace.
2) Character depth is fairly good. There are descriptions for almost each and every character in quite a bit of detail (well, at least I think so). You will not end up guessing what the background story for each character is. The anime will gradually give you more in-depth information about the characters as the anime progresses. Each and every 'case' in the anime will be quite thoroughly descriptive about what is going on. I will say this again, please give the anime some time and you will eventually begin to understand where everything is going.
3) Knowledgeable. You will see quite a few nifty tricks, schemes and techniques that will be used and described (even if in brief). Some of the stuff that is used to solve the cases and also tricks that Victorique breaks down and demonstrates will surely amaze you, considering the date that the anime takes place in it is really quite something to admire (I like stuff like that and it really appealed to me, so yeah).
4) Romance. Yep this anime has some of it. It is not very visible at first but as the story progresses you will see the bonds that form between characters and also old ties between them. By the end (if you get to it that is) you will really grow attached to the characters in the anime (I have and I am pretty sure many people will as well).
5) Various side-stories. This is not a bad thing. Do not think of them as fillers (PLEASE!). Every single thing that happens in the anime gives the main plot more meaning. Have some patience and watch all of it and you will not regret it.
6) Good Music. Music is quite important for me in an anime. Something I think everybody would be glad to hear about is that Gosick has great music! I really mean it. The OP and ED themes are all wonderful. Even the music in the anime is fantastic! It really sets the mood and is one of those things that seem insignificant but really add to an anime's overall enjoyability.
That is my review for Gosick. This is my first review and I might edit it later if I think it is necessary.

Welcome to Kametsu!

Thanks to all who have welcomed me here.

Thanks for the friendly welcome.

I've watched both seasons. Excessive panty shots made it annoying. Story is decent. Ending few episodes of both seasons are very exciting. Rating 8/10. I like fanservice so that contributed to my rating. xD Also, the music is pretty decent and there are quite a few funny moments. Story development is slow, very slow. All in all decent anime.

No problem at all mate. I've watched stuff like K-ON!, Vampire Knight, Hatsukoi Limited, Lovely Complex, Kaichou wa Maid-Sama! and Lucky Star. I can say with no hesitation at all that I thoroughly enjoyed all of them. On the other hand some of my favourite anime include KissXSis, Sekirei, Rosario + Vampire, High School Of The Dead, Onegai Sensei and Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai. What type of anime you watch doesn't define who you are.
Just watch what you enjoy watching.
