Last one: "Btooom!". Good show. Animation nice, story wise, characters the way I like it. 9/10. Was missing something to get 10 points. Dunno, what, but what could have been made better was ending. Good point: obviously second season will be some day. Bad point: incomplete ending; hell knows how long it will take to produce second season (if of course that will ever happen). Other than that I liked this show.

Current Anime Series You're Watching and your thoughts on it?
dudefromLT replied to Koby's topic in Anime District
Do agree. Though I think that the first season was a little bit better. But it was in equal terms with first one concerning cuteness. And as for my current... After finishing "SAO" had long break. Five days! Five days without anime!!! So after this long absent of not watching anything started with some very good show that is called "Btoom!". Good story, nice action, good animation, strong characters. Really something that was needed for me after such long break. At this time watched 4 episodes. So far so good. 9/10. Not perfect. Well, there isn't anything perfect in this world. -
Continuing to play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call Of Pripyat. Now fourth day on this game, so decided to say how good it is. Good one. Not as good as "Shadow of Chernobyl" and "Clear Sky", but still good nonetheless. Well, what is missing is dark atmosphere of previous games. It is difficult to explain, but this one seems a little bit to... "shinny". Well, it is still good old zone, but not so dark. Maybe it is environment, maybe my card isn't capable of showing all that beauty. Either way, it isn't as "dull" as I want it to be. But still... I like it. New maps is good, new storyline is good, old weapons... Not so. Creators at least could have added more new stuff, as it is really sad to see only old junk. Not like it is bad, but refreshments are always appreciated. Either way, 9/10 at the moment for this one. P.S. One big minus for this game. Because of it it is already fourth day without anime. Man, time just fly by playing it. No time to see new shows.

Sadly, don't have console. My only friend regarding games is PC. But, hell maybe I will download it ("Dead Island" I mean) and see if it will run. Just recently grabbed "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat". Installed it and it runs smoothly, though it shouldn't have. Well, maybe something has to do with video card, that my brother borrowed from friend. From 256MB, we went to 512MB. Either way yesterday started to play "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat". Looks promising. See will I enjoy it later as much as I enjoyed playing "Shadow of Chernobyl" and "Clear Sky".

Can't agree more. Really very good show. One of better ones I have seen. -
Finally completed "Sword Art Online". Very good show. Indeed it was like that. Had some slight minuses, but despite that one of better shows I have seen. Animation. Well 10/10. Nothing could be added. Liked characters design, how environment looked. No irritating CG visuals. So everything O.K. in here. Story. Well, good. With some slight minuses. First of the minuses would be this show fast paste. Everything that happened, happened too fast. Fight scenes not so detailed, large gaps between events, not much explanation how, when or what happened. Either story should have been shortened, either more episodes could have been produced. Other slight minus goes for creating "family" environment between Asuna and Kirito. Well, I think that stuff could have be avoided. Don't feel any chemistry between those two. And it felt so... unreal, when they started playing family. Would have been preferred more harem style script, rather than "family". But let it be 9/10. Characters. 10/10. Can't say anything bad about them. Main leads were perfect (if we won't count that "love" story around them). What would have been even better, that secondary ones could have been shown more frequently. Well, I talk about one episode girls that is . Wanted to see more of them. So overall 9.7/10. More shows like that! P.S. During this show one particular episode left mark in my head. It was episode three. When Kirito joined "Moonlit Black Cats". So sad that all they died. Especially Sachi. I felt so sad because of that. She would have been much better for Kirito, than Asuna.

Would like to try "Dead Island", sadly don't think my PC could handle it. Killing zombies is the best. Or other horrifying creatures for that matter. I myself recently played "Metro 2033". With killing that "horrifying" creatures. Very good game. All that dark atmosphere. It was wonderful. Sadly, it was kinda short. Didn't even notice when finished it. I think five days or so. Too short. Though story, graphic details were great, what I was missing in this game was a little bit more weapons and freedom of movement. Well, like in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.

Ah... Azusa. She's so cute. Would be perfect for such lolicon as myself.

Continuing "SAO". Already 17 episodes. Well, episode 11 - 13 were kinda letdown. Not so interesting. All that happy family stuff was... not for me. Though after that this show yet again returned there were I want it to be. So now I enjoy it as enjoyed first episodes. Very good. Though, sadly, but still that fast paste is present. -

"Sword Art Online". Good show. Very good. Animation rocks, characters beautiful as well, story good. Though some minor minuses: watching this show feels like going with express train. Everything is happening too fast. In on episode heroes are in level two (or whatever), on the second one already in 50 (or so). And love between main characters. Sadly, but don't feel any chemistry between Kirito and Asuna. Well as main they are good, but it just doesn't feel so real when they declaring they love to each other. Either way, if not counting theses slight minuses this show is very good. Hopefully it won't go downhill. -
"Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!" Wonderful show. So light, so heart warming. I liked it. Well, it wasn't perfect, but almost like that. Animation (10/10). What can I say. Somewhat art style reminded me of "K-On!". The design of characters was very good. All of them looked lovely (this is about girls by the way). Story (9/10). Good, but there was some moments that I disliked. Maybe parts were things got serious too much. I liked funny side of it, but when things got serious, I just felt a little bit... uneasy. Characters (10/10). What can be said about it? They were good. Sadly though, what I wanted was some kind of love triangle. Well, it was good how it ended, though I think it would have been not bad to have third person somewhere around the corner. So in conclusion my "judgment": 9.5 or somewhere around that. Second season would be great, though it is clear that that won't be happening.

Current Anime Series You're Watching and your thoughts on it?

"Mouryou no Hako". Four episodes yesterday. Quite good show. Well, better than expected. Kinda strange show, but I like the dark and gloomy atmosphere of this one. Though generally I'm not into detective stories, however this one seems quite enjoyable. Very strong characters, good animation and story, which is... twisted. Really, the only minus now is that at some point I'm confused what is going on there. Other than that this show is good. Well, four episodes in one evening mean something. -
So here I'm again with my desktops. Wanted to make something more "winter" like, but really couldn't find a single one wallpaper which would be suitable. So decided to skip all that "holiday" stuff and went with something that pleases my heart: PC Laptop

"Avatar: Legend of Korra" Quite good show. Well, much better than I have expected. Some minor minuses, but overall enjoyable show. At some point even better that its predecessor. Well, animation was good as it could be. HD way better compared to simple DVDRips. Animation really improved over "Avatar". 10/10 for it. Story... Well, original story was kinda more... to my heart. This one... Well, it wasn't bad, but was lacking something. Can't say for sure what that "something" is. So maybe 7/10. Characters: not bad. Not original "Avatar" gang, but quite likable. Especially Korra. I liked her. At first she wasn't very my type, but in the end, I kinda change my mind about her. Though, she still isn't the most sexiest character in cartoons, but at least I wouldn't mind her as my girlfriend . Of course I just couldn't notice some minuses regarding main heroine. Despite me liking her, she still is too boyish. And seeing her in romantic scenes (and the last one including) is just... not very realistic. Well, at least for me. She is better when kicking asses. By the way, one interesting thing regarding other character: Scene with Amon fleeing with his brother on the boat. And that part when tear goes down his cheek before boat explodes... At that time I felt so sorry for those two. I wonder why... Either way 7/10 for characters. Original "Avatar" was more... "colorful". So overall good show. I enjoyed it. Well, when more episodes will show up I will gladly grab them, though it isn't something that I anticipate very much. Just to spend my evenings on something. fleeing

Would be nice, but sadly... 1. My Left4Dead2 is pirated copy. 2. Really wouldn't even know how to play with that "steam" thing. Haven't tried that. 3. If that is not enough... my Internet speed is crap. Even my brother when playing "League of Legends" always complains that it lags for him. Well, but maybe it's just him. 4. And the last, but not least... current situation is that, that my download schedule is quite tight. Bunch of current series to download, so playing any net games for current time is out of the question. Though, yet again, it would be nice. If there would be a way to play "L4D2" through steam I think I would try that. As my evenings are long... P.S. Just remembered that I played one time "Half-Life" through net. It was cool. I think it was death match or something. Sadly that happened only one time. For some reason I was unable to play more, as game just didn't find servers or something. Can't recall now. It was so long ago... And I think someone cheated there... Or maybe I was just bad player....

And I kinda though that these series was average at best. Well, I myself didn't like it much. As story seems funny and such, main heroine wasn't my taste. Really, and why everyone thinks (in a anime) that she is top notch? Average school girl, with no exceptional traits. At least if we talk about appearance. Either way my last: "Manabi Straight!" Cute, but not my type. Cuteness of it wasn't so strong to make me want to watch more than couple of episodes. Characters and animation was as it should be (cute, adorable and nice), but, sadly, story didn't impress me. I got bored by second episode, so just had to give up on this.

"Avatar: Legend of Korra". Better than I have expected. Well, animation top notch, action scenes very good. Story... not bad; kinda dragging at the beginning, but now, as main story progresses, everything is O.K. Characters: well, at first I though that Korra wasn't very suitable to be the main heroine, but now... Despite being a little bit to "manly", she is cute... sometimes. Though it is kinda funny (and not so convincing) to see her act "womanly". And especially in romantic scenes. I'm more into her, when she kicks ass of bad guys. Either way series seem to progress nicely, though sadly that there is only 12 episodes at the moment. As it is definitely not enough. -
"Fafner". Tv series and the movie. Well, as in some rare cases in the past, skipped the series, but watched movie. Tv series were bad: neither animation, neither story, neither characters interested me. Everything was just plain boring. Had to drop it after couple of episodes. Now movie, in contrary, was very good. So good, as I was surprised by it. Really didn't expect it to be. Animation top notch, story was as well to my liking. Characters... well, good either, though I felt kinda something related to boy love concerning main characters. That was kinda... not so good. Especially that 'hug' scene. It was a little bit too much. I don't mind girls hugging each other in that kind of manner, but males... No, that is no good. Another thing: as I skipped series, there were quite some elements that I really couldn't understand. So that as well kinda was in the way for me to fully enjoy this movie. But overall I liked it. 9/10.

So much anger... so much hatred... so much (other bad things). Whatever.... "D.Gray-man" Last of my finished anime. And it was just recently my "current" one. Till I got bored. And that happened after ten or more episodes. This show wasn't for me. At first I thought that it was pretty good. Neither animation, neither characters, neither story was bad, but... Somewhat get bored. So suddenly. I don't know why. I just felt like skipping this show all together. So I did it. Run fast through episodes just to see how story progressed and finished this show in one evening. Well, it's kinda sad as I expected something from this show. Was hoping to stay with it for longer. Oh well... Just not the right one for me. And sad that show with 103 episodes didn't have clear ending. Considering that there is no continuation after that.

I myself don't think it was so bad. I liked how levels interacted between each other, new weapons were good as well (though more could have been added), new levels (though as for second game there could have been much more of it; well game kinda seemed too short). Regarding monsters: yes, jockey is irritating, but all other seem fine. Considering gore and stuff, kinda didn't notice that; hands too full when killing all that crowd of zombies. But one thing that I really dislike in second part is AI of players. I always play in single mode with computer controlled characters. Sadly but they are stupid compared to old ones. In L4D characters tend to keep closer to you, always following your lead, in L4D2 they are who try to lead. And that is bad, they just run far ahead of you before you can closely search places, heal yourself and such. And when it comes to saving you... They are slow, too slow. Oh yes, and other minus. It would have been so much more fun if characters could use pipe bombs and that "smelling" bombs. Sadly only you are capable of using them.
-
One new addition to my movie list: "Gamer". From trailer looked much better than it really was. Nice action, but story didn't impress me much. And some scenes were quite... B rated. Like scenes with people in retro (or whatever) costumes. It was kinda out of place. Well, maybe not out of place, but kinda very, very not my taste. Actors as well were nothing worth mentioning. Didn't care much about what would happen to either one of them. Though, fat one was... I felt sorry for him. Dunno why. Well, at least this movie was better compared to "Total Recall". That dark "game' atmosphere was to my liking. Though more SE could be shown. So... maybe 4/10, as I skipped a lot in this movie.

Oh man... And I liked "TMOHS". Though I must agree with that 8 (there were really so many?) episodes. And I liked especially Yuki. Emotionless beauty. Even Haruhi, which you called "fucking selfish, shallow bitch" was to my liking. Not much, but I could sympathize with her at some degree. And please, don't badmouth Asahina. She's just helpless girl. Like younger sister, who always needs your protection. Either way my last show: "Eureka Seven AO". What a disappointment. Such a disgrace to its predecessor. I was so... expecting that. By "expecting" I mean that I knew that it would be bad. And I was right. The only thing that was superior to first season was animation. Story (1/10). Such bad continuation. Why, oh why creators decided to end first season like that? When "Eureka Seven" ended I thought that Renton and Eureka lived happily ever after (though I must say that it it were me I would have chosen more... clear ending). But no... It seems their lives didn't go very well. That sucks! As fan of first season I was disappointed by that kind of twist of the story. And man... throughout series it was so confusing to understand what was going on. So many characters, so many facts, so many... everything. Too much of material in one place. Travels in time? Travels between different worlds? Someone pretending to be someone else? Spare me! Characters (4/10). Ao isn't Renton, Naru isn't Eureka. That's that. No appeal to these characters whatsoever. The only good one was Fleur. I liked her. Kinda hoped she would pair up with Ao, but... Either way, she deserved better one. Animation (10/10). Really the only real plus goes here. Well, HDTV is superior to DVD. Characters design was good, mecha good, scenery good. All details clear. Well, sometimes faces of characters irritated me, but overall animation better compared to "Eureka Seven". Even Eureka looked prettier here than she did in first season. Though that can't be said about Renton. I was kinda shocked when I saw him. That dude got old. So overall 2/10. Not like I expected more.
-
Well, first one was better (for me as well) because it was first of its kind really. It is like almost with all games (Dead Space - Dead Space 2; GTA3 - GTA Vice City, San Andreas; Alien - (can't recall how second one is called); and so on). You feel much more enjoyment when you see something for the first time, though when the second one comes... Well, you still feel happy, but as you already have seen something similar your enjoyment isn't so big as it was when you played something for the first time. With L4D 2 is the same. Though I feel happy playing it, L4D gave me more happiness back then, because before that I wasn't playing anything like it.
-
"Total Recall" 2012 version. Bad movie. As I recall original version with Arnold Schwarzenegger was much, MUCH better. This one had only special effects (sadly those were as well kinda limited). Everything else was just... disgrace to 1990 movie. Can't say more. Even Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel didn't shine in it. Wasted evening of mine. 1/10.

Current Anime Series You're Watching and your thoughts on it?
dudefromLT replied to Koby's topic in Anime District
My current stuff: "Eureka Seven AO". Sequel of superb series. Sadly not so good. Well, I was kinda expecting that it will be rather disappointing, so like I wasn't very surprised that sequel is far far from its predecessor. Well, it is kinda good, but compared to "Eureka Seven" this show is nothing. Well, at least now (at episode 9) it is quite watchable (yet again, if we won't compare to first season). So I can give it 7/10 at this moment. P.S. It is very sad to know that things didn't go well for Renton and Eureka after first season. Though at the moment I really can't understand how it ended like that. Hopefully my questions will be answered later in the series. EDIT v1: "D.Gray-man". Not bad at all. Nice animation, nice characters. Well, maybe story a little bit not my type, but still quite good. Watching now in English dub, but sadly after 51 episode will have to deal with subs. Well, maybe that is the only minus I see in this show. At least for now. 8/10.
