  1. Things worth noting about external HDDs, and HDDs in general is because they have moving parts the DoA rate is really high. Don't let a DoA spoil your opinion on a brand, the rate is far higher than any other computer component. I know that the last time I bought an HDD the rate was over 1%. SeaGate are okay drives, but they're definitely cheaper than Western Digital. I really like the Western Digital network drives because of them being user serviceable, so even if they die you just buy another internal drive and pop it in the external casing. Also the write rate over ethernet is a lot higher than the write rate from USB 2.0 which most drives are.
  2. Most of the charges that are getting laid out won't actually go through anyways. Sites like Rapidshare, and MegaUpload are protected by US law. Online service providers are not liable for the actions of their users. Its why Google, Microsoft, and Apple's cloud solutions aren't being shut down by the government. They're just choosing smaller companies to pick on, and make an example of. In a year the feds will have a shit storm of counter suites. Note: A really good Kim Dotcom interview. http://ondemand.tv3.co.nz/Campbell-Live-Thursday-March-1-2012/tabid/119/articleID/5578/MCat/73/Default.aspx
  3. Its worth noting that your RAM scales with your CPU, since the CPU does not run at full clock speed when its idling to find the real frequency of your RAM well it's running you have to enable some sort of bench marking software to push the CPU past idle state. Also no 1 800Mhz stick + another 800Mhz stick does not make a total speed of 1600Mhz. The speed indicated is how fast the RAM refreshes all content. This refresh has to occur every time information is addressed because RAM is volatile and can't hold onto information for any long period of time.
