I'm actually excited for this one as well. Been putting it off because it's subbed and now that it has a dub, I'm waiting for it all to be released before I watch it. Thanks for encoding it.

Highschool of the Dead probably will not get a season 2 ever because it's Madhouse and they rarely do so; plus the fact that the anime kind of went off in it's own direction from what I'm told.
I read the manga and it is a straight up adaption. It's so on point that I think it might be the most faithful adaption I've ever seen. Even the last scene in the show shows the lady walk by the billboard full of pictures. That is the next character in the Mall Arc. It is perfectly set up to continue the story. My guess why they don't adapt more is because there isn't enough to adapt for another season. I know that Sentai is always asking Madhouse if they have more HoTD in the works.
Kill la Kill had a pretty conclusive ending. If they had to make more they would have to create a new "threat" and probably new characters seeing as we have a conclusion to the story and most of the characters are fleshed out. I can thing of a dozen shows that don't have an ending as well rounded as Kill la Kill. So I wouldn't expect anymore to come out. It's like expecting more or Gurren Lagann to be made.

Just passing through.

I watched Hetalia and it was funny. But more because of the Historical references it makes.
@Dude888
I think Lucky star was more geared to the male audience then female. Hetalia is the opposite of that, so is Black Butler. There is much less shows that are made to appeal to females but when they are done right they become a huge success since they are few and far in between.

The most impactfully dead on a show would have to be Hughs in both Full Metal Alchemist and Full Metal Alchemist BrotherHood. That was a very sad episode in both series. On top of which it very much affected the actions of characters later on in the show.
Most awesome kill would have to be Legend of Legendary Heros when the main character turns the one of the attackers upper body to dust when he first looses control.

Dragon Ball Z
Bleach
Code Geass
Inuyasha
Baccano
some Gundam series (Gundam 00, Seed, Wing and G Gundam)
Desert Punk
Orhpen (pretty good so far, have not see full show)
Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure (really like this show, even thought it's old)
Ghost Stories (more of a legendary dub then anything else)
If I have to name a few, that is what it would be.

Bojack Unbound because 13 year old Gohan goes Super Saiyen 2 again, which he only did during the Cell arc. I have to say that I really hate grown Gohan and even little Gohan is better. But, the most badass character has to be Gohan when he is fighting cell. Pure win.

Top Five will have to be:
1. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
2. Full Metal Panic (all 3 seasons)
3. Full Metal Alchemist
4. Desert Punk (....just watch it some of it and be aw struck)
5. Oh! Edo Rocket
and to add the cherry on top
Extra: Ghost Stories (yes the english dub by ADV, just watch some and you will know what I'm talking about)
Here is a english dubbed scene from Desert Punk TAuWBF-Mt-4

One thing I've noticed is I can't go to 400% volume. The new maximum is 200%.
I noticed that too, wish they would have left it with the 400% like the older one.
@Koby
I always encode and sometime I don't have subtitles for on screen text so I don't set the Japanese Dailogue as default since I don't like watching Japanese Dub if I have a English Dub to watch in stead. VLC plays it without subtitles. However, MPC always turns on the subtitle. To boot I have yet to find a Hot Key for changing aspect Ratio on MPC and VLC literly lets you re render the video. You can mess with a lot of aspects of the video, of which MPC does nothing of the sort (as far as I have checked).
MPC is much more stiff and VLC is much more flexiable and that is what I want in a player. Also, why bring up the past, we are taking about the VLC 2.0.
MPC is a lot less comfortable then VLC, just face it. Yeah, sometime VLC has to build up Cache, but that is the worst problem I've had with it.
Lastly, it's all a matter of opinion and situation. I've had bad experience with MPC and now don't use it, you have had bad experience with VLC and now don't use it. Not reason to be flipping balls because of someone not liking what you like or liking what you hate.

Well this means I can go and watch House in one sitting then? Better get started.

Good Song, on that note thought. I like this song better.
Also, do you make AMVs. You should give it a try.

Why would we want people downloading a shitty program that will only cause more issues for us to answer when it fails to work correctly? I get tired of having to tell people on EDK on a daily basis that if they got rid of VLC the troubles they keep posting about would completely vanish. Some argue, but most listen (and those that do always reply talking about how getting rid of VLC fixed the problem).
..... I've had little to no issues with VLC, I perfer it mostly because of all the hot keys it has. Aspect Ratio change is "A", audio change is "B" and subtitles are "V". It's just very comfortable. Where as Media Player Classic is not. MPC always turns on the subtitle when I don't need then and turns off subtitles when I do when I open up a video file with it and changing aspect ratio is just a chore on it. VLC always plays the video how it was intended (subtitles off and dub audio playing) and changing aspect ration is just a click of a button away.
In short, VLC is just more comfortable and easier to use. Plain and simple.

Cool, but can you post a download link for it?

Well I'm an encoder from minitheatre.org (the home of mini encodes) and like the people that stated above me, Hand Brake and MeGUI are the most popular. But there are others and add ons to those. Like Cyko (which was created by IOS/JIX) which is made to have batch encoding on HandBrake.
MeGUI is more advanced and harder to use. It's really useful if the source is not to your liking. But chances are more of the sources are already encoded well enough. You can adjust things like Sharpness, Vividness and use filters to filter out grain and make lines more defined. You can tweak the video to your liking if you so choose. But I digress.
Mini encodes usually use two types of encoding, one is setting a set bitrate to which you get a consistent file size but non consistent quality. Since not all episodes have the same amount of "movement" and "dark areas", so you can see where the problem lies if you try to fit every picture into one same frame. This usually results in using smaller bitrates for encoding like 400 bitrate for DVD Rips and 500 DB Rips (720p) to get desired results (but some times you have to go higher to get what you want). Then there is CRF, which gives you a non consistent file size but consistent quality, in which bitrate goes up on high motion scenes (such as fighting scenes) and goes down on low motion scenes (such as characters talking). I find CRF to be very useful when encoding Anime Films, since they are long and there is a lot of variation (motion wise) between scenes through out the length of the film that it makes it very hard to choose a set bitrate that will satisfy both size you want and quality through out the whole movie>
However, try as you might most of the output is governed by the input. So, if your source sucks then your mini encode will suck as well (not because it smaller in size but because the source is bad to begin with). Thus, start with a good source and work from there.
I personally use HandBrake and you can find a full tutorial on how to encode mini-MKV encodes HERE: https://sites.google.com/site/taumox/handbrake-tutorial

Hello, Rinkwolf here I'm new to Kametsu but I would like to introduce myself, just don't know where. I'm a encoder at Minitheatre and I'm looking for source files to re-encode (with original encoders permission of course).
Anyways, been into anime for a long time and have seen a lot of shows. I prefer English Dubbed anime and don't get me started on why because I might even convince you (I've had this argument many time over the years so my counter arguments are very solid). This is not to say that I don't watch anime subbed, it's just that if there is a dub I will always watch it over the subs.
Anyways, I'm getting of topic here. Can someone please point me to the right place for me to introduce myself.
A Cetain Magical Index/ Scientific Railgun More Season?
in Anime District
Posted · Edited by Rinkwolf
I wanted to know if anyone had any info on if Railgun and Index are going to make more seasons. I know that J.C. Staff is very well known for adapting manga/light novels to their completion.
But, seeing as the Index light novel has ended it's run and anime is pretty much a advertsment for the Managa/ light novels. Adding to is that instead of a Index season 3 we get a stand alone Movie, coupled with the fact that the last adaption was about 4 years ago. My hope for more from either series is fading.
Any news to verify or rebuttal my concerns/observations are welcome.
