  1. For some reason, I feel like it would have a big FMA-style feel, probably because of this: http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=168. If my avatar is any indication, though, that wouldn't be a problem
  2. Out of 1 to 100.....I'm Q. My dark side makes no sense, just like the rest of me.
  3. Wow, I feel lucky, I guess I'm the only one here that's actually seen it I caught the dub version at a theater in West Palm Beach. Wasn't sure what to expect, what with the story taking place during Brotherhood, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Great voice acting, action, and (for what it's worth in a one-off movie) plot. If you have the chance to see it, don't hesitate to. You shouldn't have to wait very long, either, I think it's coming out on DVD/BD in April.
  4. Fullmetal. Alchemist. I have this grand idea in my head for how it would work as a trilogy, who would play who (Tom Selleck as Bradley FTW), everything. It will never happen, but it's still a cool idea.......
  5. Battlefront 2 has to be one of my favorite FPS games ever, so if this is true..... my grades will suffer
  6. This guide is focused on blu-rays, but I use its method for DVDs too: http://lifehacker.com/5559007/the-hassle+free-guide-to-ripping-your-blu+ray-collection You don't need to pay for ripping programs anymore, with all the good free alternatives.
  7. *sigh* I don't really see any way this ends well for anyone who uploaded to MU. Best case scenario probably is everything getting deleted, because with the data existing as it does now, the MPAA/RIAA have the potential for a jackpot if they decide to actually use what's available to them.
  8. If it's under warranty, get it replaced. If it's not, try taking apart the laptop around the area of the screen. Like Ang3lofDarkness said, it could be something as simple as a wire getting dislodged. Something similar happened to the backlighting on my laptop, and it turned out to just be an internal plug that got loose. If it really is broken, I'd look for a replacement screen, but like several posters said, it could be a bit pricey.
  9. Exactly, the only reason anyone at all would find it weird is because they think anime is just for kids. Video games are the same way, though the average person seems to be figuring out video games are for everyone, not just kids. Eventually this will change for anime too, though I don't have a clue when that will be...
  10. 15.32 Mbps down 9.76 Mbps up Living at college certainly has its advantages
  11. Nope, this one's fake. http://urbanlegends.about.com/b/2012/02/11/did-rick-santorum-declare-war-on-heavy-metal-nope.htm Though honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he really did do something like this.....
  12. I think the biggest thing that drives this bias is this general feeling that "animation is for kids". I mean, some parents act surprised when they sit their kids down in front of Family Guy and are just SHOCKED when it's not appropriate. Since animation has been around as kids' entertainment for so long, any kind of animation, even anime, gets lumped in. And in the US, most people don't treat kids' shows as "serious."
  13. If you're talking about mature/older-oriented anime, then there's no reason to censor anything. If you're talking about anime aimed at children, that's a different story. I don't like it when an anime butchers the material to the point of incomprehensibility, but I can understand why things are taken out. Cultural norms are different between the US and Japan, and I don't think Saturday morning cartoons in the US need to be blood splattered. That being said, I prefer when they do something interesting with the censoring, rather than just removing things. The Shadow Realm from Yu-Gi-Oh is the best example I can think of. Certainly makes it easier to explain when "dead" characters suddenly show up again.
  14. I can watch anime either way, though I do prefer a good dub when given the option. I think a big part of which one I prefer is the culture of the anime. For something like FMA or Baccano that takes place in a Western culture, it doesn't make sense to watch it in Japanese (though the quality of those particular dubs certainly makes the choice easier).
  15. I've always been more of a battlefield fan, simply because there's more to do, ESPECIALLY for someone that sucks as much at FPSs at me. With CoD it's shoot, shoot, die. Battlefield lets me do other things besides (failing at...) shooting people.
