I referenced Akira because I wanted to point out the fact that Kai only adapts what is from his manga. That is all. What you've said are some of Akira's ideas that never made the final cut.
In that sense, I would say that Kai > DBZ. But that's simply my opinion; you are free to disagree.

Why would it take you months? I binge watched Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z in less than 3 weeks.
