  1. I looked at some ASUS laptops, but I couldn't find any that specifically said whether or not they had a back-lit keyboard.

I'm still leaning toward Sony Vaio. This is one that comes as-is, though there are customizable ones as well. What do you guys think of the specs?

I really appreciate everyone's input. I know what I want in a laptop, but I really don't know that much about specs and whatnot. I want to make sure I get a decent laptop that has what I'm looking for.

That seems like a pretty good deal for what you're looking for! It's got a dual core Intel i5 processor which is always nice for multi-tasking. That track pad is a little awkward though unless you're left handed. Usually they have them centered.

  2. Thanks for your suggestion! I looked into the Sony Vaio series, and found that the C Series had all the things the Dell laptops did, plus it was under $1000. So I'm really leaning toward the Sony Vaio now. The only thing I don't like is the larger keyboard with numpad. My brother's laptop is like that and it's hard to type on. Though I suppose it would just take some getting used to.

I'm interested to hear if anyone else has used Sony Vaio laptops, or if there are any other suggestions. How are HP laptops?

EDIT: It looks like a lot of HP laptops have an option for Bluray drives, but not a backlit keyboard. :/

I highly suggest you don't go with an HP. I bought one over the holidays and it's put together horribly. An example: every time I type on the keyboard, the surrounding keys seem to push inward and move. This happened out of the box too. Not to mention they include a lot of unnecessary software that crowd up the machine upon setup.

Though I've never had one, I agree with magic, I've heard a lot of good things about ASUS having really good machines.

  3. Original Dragon Ball, Cowboy Bebop and Kenshin all get regular play as background noise when im bored.

Oh WOW, are you me? I seriously watch those exact same three when i'm bored. I find the original dragon ball to be entertaining comedy wise, cowboy bebop is my favorite anime, and Rurouni Kenshin gets me motivated to draw.

  4. Oh wow, thank you for the quick response! I've seen YuYu Hakusho (which is one i'd like to rewatch, so thank you for the reminder) but the rest I haven't seen, so i'll definitely give them a shot.

I've heard about Soul Eater and D.Gray-man, but not the other two. Fairy Tale looks interesting; the artist behind One Piece must have worked on this.

  5. Hey Guys,

I just recently started coming back into Anime, and i'm trying to build a pretty good collection of good Anime to watch.

I prefer Shonen over anything, but I also like Comedy and Sci-Fi. Anything that ties in with Shonen i'm pretty OK with!

I heard Gintama was a good one, but at the same time the review I read said something about appealing to fan girls, which made me a bit iffy thinking it had some sort of weird Yaoi aspect to it.

I come from watching what I guess you could call mainstream anime, which is stuff like Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, Bleach, One Piece, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, as well as anything else that would have appeared back on Toonami or Adult Swim years ago.

I'm also pretty fond of Tenchi Muyo despite it's tie with romance, so if there's something similar to Tenchi Muyo I wouldn't be opposed to it.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance!

  6. I sometimes watch with my PC connected to my HDTV, but for the most part I download my Anime off of here and put it on a portable hard drive. I have the hard drive connected to my soft-modded Wii and play it through WiiMC, which I usually just go down my list of series in my collection and let it play all.

  7. I own Monster Hunter Tri. I love the game but I prefer watching, the difficulty is too high. The monster's look amazing. But if we got a Monster Hunter game on the computer I'd play the shit out of it. Too bad Monster Hunter Frontier never got released in English.

Yeah, me and friend of mine talk about how much we'd love it if they brought the series to PC. I imagine the graphics would be amazing. Also, I agree about Frontier.

A lot of people have a issue with the lack of a lock on button, which the 3DS that was released a couple of weeks ago in Japan actually has one. That and the camera controls are much better too. That would probably help tone the difficulty of the monsters down as you wouldn't have to break your hand doing "The Claw" in order to control the camera in the PSP games, haha.

I own Monster Hunter Tri. Got it over a year ago, but I've never once even inserted it into the console, much less played it. You'd be surprised how many games I've bought years and years ago that I still haven't gotten around to playing.

You should try it sometime! It's pretty good. I have around 200+ hours of play time on my main file.

Unfortunately it lacks a lot of content that the PSP ones have (surprisingly), plus Capcom is going to shut down the online servers soon if they haven't already. The main game's still pretty challenging and fun on it's own though.

  8. As the title says, anybody here play Monster Hunter?

I love this series! You don't understand the meaning of difficulty until you fight some high rank monsters on Monster Hunter.

Monster Hunter is an insanely popular series over in Japan. Not so much in america, though it's release of Tri in America caused it to gain more popularity.

Check out the monster hunter wiki for more info. http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/Monster_Hunter_Wiki

    Titles I have:

    -Freedom Unite

    -Tri

    -Portable 3rd (English Patched)

I hope they release Tri G on the 3DS in america.

  9. Lets see...

    -Graduate College with a 3.0+.

I graduate this year, and unfortunately my GPA has dropped, so i'm gonna work hard to bring it back up. I've already brought it up about .2 points.

    -Lose weight

Well, I lost 70 and dropped to 180, but gained about 30 back over the past couple years.

    -Work on my portfolio

Once I graduate i'm gonna need a portfolio!

-Get a job and save up money to move out

After graduation I imagine i'll have to relocate and i'd rather not live in a car for a couple of weeks.

  10. I like a lot of different types of music, but the majority of what I listen too is music that helps get my creativity flowing while doing artwork. It's usually music that has no words, such as the bumps of Adult Swim by artists like Flying Lotus.

I actually set up a station on Pandora based around him that plays a lot of awesome similar music.

  11. Ah ok, so I'm guessing it's better than the air cooler considering it's silent.

Yeah, plus it's said to keep the CPU much cooler. It requires more maintenance as you have to fill it with distilled water/check the levels frequently, not to mention you have to really be careful doing it. You wouldn't want the water to leak on the motherboard or anything.

Hell, i'm frightened at the idea of water flowing inside my $900 gaming PC. :Y

  12. I try to keep as few addon's as possible. Adblock Plus Adblock Plus Pop-up Addon Chatzilla Flagfox MP4 Downloader

I'm the same, FireFox seems to take longer to boot up for me with more add-ons.

I haven't seen a lot of people mention this, but Speed Dial. I love it! Everytime I boot up the internet, all my sites and e-mails I need to check are there waiting for me.

  13. Smoke signals are overrated. Mirrors are the way to go!

Cellphones are for losers. Real badasses use smoke signals and carrier pigeons to get shit done.

Why has no one upgraded to the tin can telephone?

Anyways, mine's primarily for texting. I just recently started using it as an mp3 player too though.

  14. Welcome to kametsu man, I hope you enjoy your stay here. You will find many great animes on this site to download.

Thanks for the welcome! Yeah, I already set up a list of Anime i'm looking forward to getting. Already finished getting cowboy bebop from the main site. :D

This also seems like a great place to chat about Anime, so i'm looking forward to sticking around.
