Ah yes, I /finally/ finished it after months in MAL queue. Lots of things to cover, yet no continuation. Dont ya just hate it when series just up and quit? I think its time for fan-fiction!

What is the most time you have ever invested in a single game?
la5er replied to Sagara117's topic in My Two Cents
I think my /played on all my characters in WOW got up to a yr +/- 50 days. EVE-O is a close second with I believe 9 months of play time(I do have a 64M SP amarr carrier pilot) -
Im going to start this post off with a phrase that has echoed through my mind for countless years to when I read it: “We as humans are a unique breed as we can use our entire being to inflict pain or healing onto other beings”. – Mark Twain. That is we have an inherent prejudice over everything in life through our emotions and it is our very emotions that attempt to defy logical reasoning or morph it into making us feel all warm and fuzzy inside even in the most destitute of times. We as humans also like to quantify the qualitative aspects of life. This is done through the principles of statistical analysis where dummy variables are assigned to that which otherwise doesn’t have a rank assigned to it. However this property has one spectrum that drives it. Namely the Love-hate spectrum for happiness and despair can be derived from its precursory inputs and they can also be dependent on what end of the spectrum they have an affinity for. So with the aforementioned paragraph you have Love and hate with values of 1 and -1 respectively, polar opposites of each other if you will. Now, you can also surmise the will of the human mind’s attractiveness towards that with which it feels emotionally at ease. A good description of the emotional spectrum can also be put into a Cartesian coordinate context as well with the (0, 1) being Love, (0, -1) being hate, (1,0) being the affinity towards love, and (-1, 0) being the affinity towards hate. This plane can be used to help us better understand where we sit on life’s emotional plane. As an example lets take the emotion of fear. Fear can carry with it an affinity towards love or an affinity towards hate. Fear is for the most part a human emotion that can derive itself from the unknown. In this case a thought of “If I do this, what will happen?” The unknown factor can either repel you from it in this case hate thus having an affinity towards love and vise-a-versa. Namely it can drive you to learn or improve yourself in some way. The example of fear in this case leads us to another topic of being emotionally neutral in the case of human relationships of any degree. For where there is friendship, marriage, jealousy, envy, parental, etc… there is a 3rd personality involved that is the “bond” that ties the two people together. This no matter how you look at it can be a bond of love or a bond of hate. Now when maturity is reached the circle of emotions in the case of our emotional plane comes into view more and more as we live and gain wisdom. We as humans just by self-virtues cannot obtain full maturity nor can we obtain full maturity with another person. As life is a constant battle for improvement across all facets of it. If we at all think to ourselves “Yeah, I am fully mature because of x, y, z, etc….” we attempt to scar over that hole of which we fear about ourselves: the unknown. Do you know as a parent, know at this exact moment what it would be like to hand your child over in marriage? Do you as a parent to be know what it is like to actually hold the life that your emotions willed into existence? Do you know how it will feel to obtain your BS/MS/PHD at that university you are currently attending? Do you who are single know what it feels like to be married to someone? Do you who lost a loved one know what it is like to live in your present-self with that person still in your life? Do you who live in a peaceful nation know what it is like to live in a nation ripe with war outside your doorstep? If, you answered yes to any of these questions. You have just attempted to use your emotions to scar over the hole in your life. We as humans are damaged right from the start and attempt to use others to fill voids that we cannot fill even if we surround ourselves with thousands of social ties as there is always something that is unknown to us. In order to reach full maturity it is IMPERATIVE that we experience all points in the circle I previously laid out for you. With relationships of any degree maturation only comes when the bond that ties the two together be it for hateful reasons or loving reasons bisects the point (0,0) AND the distance between person A and (0,0); and person B and (0,0) are equal. This cannot be and will never be as there is always even an emotional nano-meter of a difference. It is the attempt to fulfill this requirement that helps us learn about our current state to improve towards a higher state. The state of true-love: acting upon our fears by having the courage to face them and not run from them. Running from your fears only creates more hardship for yourself and the entity that created that fear in the first place. Sugar coating it with an “its for the best” attitude don’t solve the issue. It just stagnates it and has it hover in one place never truly coming to rest. This brings me to my next topic of discussion. Is there such a thing as a “choice” do we really have the power to make a choice? No, because our entire being was brought up through 4 forces of physics: Electromagnetic, strong, weak, and gravitational. Was it your choice to wake up this morning? Was it your choice that the Earth came into existence? Was it your choice to say “I DO” at the altar? Was it your choice to even breathe the breath before last? Again, I will reiterate that if you said yes to any of the following you have just placed that with which you think you know into the unknown and have just used fear in a unique way. The earth came into existence because there were gravitational forces acting upon the particulate of matter in the area of space the earth formed in. You decided to wake up this morning because a chemical reaction within your brain was able to synthesis enough adenosine to trigger a wakeup response or you had a chemical reaction before you went to sleep to turn on your alarm because you chemically want to journey out into the world to work of which the society has implanted in your head to fool you into wanting money of which was brought up as a monetary system to sugar-coat forced labor of which…… You said “I DO” at the altar because a chemical reaction with in your brain drove you to think: “I LOVE THIS PERSON”. Your last breath you had was a chemical reaction from remnant atomic particles coming together through half-life transformation from a higher element that acquired a unique charge to form an amino-acid, protein, or sugar molecule. All of which were formed from other particulate matter from animals and plants. From which plants require photosynthesis from fusion(gravitational, and chemical) within the sun that form processes Hydrogen to from Helium, Helium to from Lithium, Lithium to form… Of which then when the star is massive enough to form a supernova of which processes all elements to Uranium of which radioactively decays back down to the elements to form more amino acids, proteins, sugars. These came together to form life of which breathes. GO TO THE FIRST CHARACTER IN THIS PARAGRAPH. Everything is chemical and gravitational reaction of which derived themself from quarks and leptons in the electrons, protons, and neutrons that make up our very physical being. Depending on how the quarks and leptons fuse gives them their chemical property(+ for protons, -for electrons, and neutral for neutrons) Neutrons are interesting as they form when enough gravitational pressures have been applied to fuse electrons and protons together. The weak(intra-molecular) and strong(inter-molecular) forces also act upon us from mono/dipole molecular reactions of isotopes, etc….. of which are then bound by gravity formed by the collection of mass from the bonding of protons, electrons, and neutrons. How did all this “knowledge” come into being? Because we as humans desire through our emotions knowledge of the unknown and have faith that all this is truth. We use faith to affirm that with which we think is true from what we know of which is derived from the unknown. With the recent discoveries that we were able to accelerate a particle of light beyond the constant of C from Einsteins theory of relativity throws all we have known about our emotional and physical world back into the blender to rethink our current state to then rise to another state of understanding. Then again, we black-hole into a thought that we actually made that particle of light go faster than C. After all we measure speed in the context of a unit of distance over a unit of time. Time itself from the intercontinental railway nuclear clock experiment proved that as speed increases time itself starts to pass by slower. Thus as we approach the speed of light, time goes by slower and slower. Look at the previous paragraph and you will see how cyclical our understanding of the universe has really become. I also leave you with a couple other thoughts and a statement before I close this post out. Thoughts: Is true-love a peaceful resting place for the mutual and cyclical exploitation of the two entities working on each other through governance of the forces of phsyics? Namely does a spouse exploit the weaknesses of his/her spouse so to teach him/her where to improve(give “life”) and vise-a-versa? Is it not the exploitation of our current sun to bring life to the future state of our future-present area of space? Why are we powerless to stop our emotions from creating other emotions? Statements: This is a result of reading through most of the Summa Theologea by St. Thomas Aquinas my confirmation representative as I was confirmed into the Roman Catholic Church of 2010.

Master App: I strongly recommend if you want to save yourself 1K USD to build your own. You will also know your computer inside and out and it wont come with the bloat-ware a prebuilt tends to come with. Choose from 1 of each of the above motherboards, gfx cards, and memory kit. The price-range is HUGE and if you dont know much about computers it will teach you a thing or two. Right now the most affordable but lasting investment to make video card wise is the 2WIN GTX 560 Ti that EVGA has out.

I wonder if I can say touche on some of your points. However there is big-endian and little-endian. it all depends on what platform the programmers worked on sparc v intel for an example. At any rate. Lets continue with our lessons. Lets see how programs are written. Lets take a simple example. A car. Cars have different types of which have their own properties. Hatchback, sedan, pickup, sports-car, etc... These are PUBLIC in scope and are part of the package of car. Lets call these form-factors classes. Now you wouldnt put a spoiler on a pickup truck if youre a sane person. Nor would you put a 'dualy' on a hatchback, or a rolled-rear pan on the back of a mini-van. These are private properties of their respective class. Now, how do all these datatypes we talked about earlier? Well all vehicles have wheels. Lets say the wheels in this case are an integer with a value or count assigned to them to make them an integer. They all have engines as well but the engine comes in a class of its own because they come in twin, v4, etc... They also are 2 stroke or 4 stroke. Can use diesel, unleaded, premium, or hybrid fuels. The cylinder count is an integer that has a value assigned to it, if its on or off being a boolean, in reverse or forward which is also another boolean, the fuel type which is a string describing its type. Etc.... Each vehicle has a paint color(string in this case), How much fuel it can have in its tank(double) i.e. 1.2L, 2.2L,, 4L etc... Now that we have done all this ground work lets see how the code looks. Namespace vehicle { public class engine { private string fuel private boolean turnedOn private boolean direction private integer cylinders private double fuel } Public class pickup truck { private engine engine = new engine() //This is required to be new because you cannot set an engines properties that havent been beyond the blue-print(new) phase engine.fuel = 34.4 engine.cylinders = 6 engine.turnedOn = false engine.direction = forward ....(fill in the rest as a challenge) private string color red private integer seats = 4 private boolean crewCab = true private string licensePlate = "12A-5FK" private turnOn(keyTurned) { if keyTurned = true Engine.turnedOn = true else Engine.turnedOn = false } ...... (fill this in with more methods as a challenge) } ..... (fill the rest of the namespace with other vehicles and properties. } The reasoning behind the private and public word modifiers are because you wouldnt want to turn that cars engine on next to you while in your own car would you? Nor would you want to all the sudden go disco on your paint job cause some guy decides to rainbow up his world? The public word means that you can "buy" a car off the lot with customized(private) features to your hearts content. Next topic if I receive more interest will be HOW to put a spoiler on the back of a motorcycle! It can be done! The challenge awaits you, will you take it?

If you have ever wanted to learn to program a computer or learn the inner workings of computers this post is for you. It is a simplified version of 4 years of curriculum you would otherwise learn at a university. First there is computer theory which covers decision trees. As with everything in life when you reach a point or moment you either make a decision to go left or go right. This is how computers work as well. The moment in this case is a parent node and the decisions are the child nodes of that parent node. As a program executes its tree starts to grow branches with each user input and terminates at the last child of which is a leaf in this case. There are truth tables that are part of computer theory. And they use AND, OR, THEN, and IFF AND is true if the two inputs on both sides are true otherwise false OR is false if both inputs are false otherwise true THEN is true if the first input is true otherwise false IFF is true if both inputs are true otherwise false When you append an "N" at the beginning of the four above operations you get the negation or opposite however this is only the case for OR and AND making them NOR and NAND respectively There are methods computers use to store data that is complex. It stores them in 2 modes: BIN and HEX BIN is read as such: 10000000 is 1, 01000000 is 2, 00100000 is 4, and so on. Any combination of the 8 different BIN "WORDS" yields the summation. i.e. 11000000 is 3, 10100000 is 5, and so on. HEX is read a little differently but instead of a WORD of 8 bits it is a WORD of 2 HEX characters ranging from 0 to F with F being a value of 15. So you have 1100 1100 meaning 3 3, 1101 1100 meaning B 3. You then have data-types of which ALL programs are ultimately broken down into. Strings, Boolean, Integers, Floats, and Doubles. Strings are things like "Hi, How are you doing". Booleans are either True or False Integers are any number without a decimal point in them Floats are huge numbers that have a high degree of precision that have a decimal point in them. Doubles are simplified versions of Floats. A difference between a Float and Double can be noted as: Float: 357373772374166272.6727272782342173215461 Double: 426272.3351 Keep in mind when they can be interchangeable to a degree. There is a range at which they can cover that distinguishes them though. Next reply to this topic will be about how to write a program. I hope I get a community wide interest as that will open the door for me to post further replies.

Then I am glad I came here I made a whole MP3 Script with IRC and program with it fluently. The whole thing is setting up a box with enough band-width to do dcc's efficiently under a fairly stressful load. Queuing is another option but might be too long of a wait for people that could get them from FS/SF/MU/(insert other flavor here) in the time the queue takes. For example the following script has parameters denoted by $n and the "?" in the first line denotes a private message that takes !mp3 as the first parameter with $nick being the person who sent the message. It runs the alias sendit that takes the currently playing mp3 file on my client and dcc's(direct client connect) sends it to them. This is IF they havent specified the exact mp3 file that I played earlier(usually from text I broadcast to the channel for ppl to know I am listening to a song) on *:TEXT:!mp3*:?:/sendIt $nick $2- alias sendIt { if ($2 == get) { dcc send $1 $findfile($mircdirsounds,* $+ $3 $+ *,1) } if ($2- == $null) { dcc send $nick $inmp3.fname } } You could modify it to instead of $inmp3.fname do a list.txt instead that contains all the filenames of files you have stored in the file-database and then they can just look for the one they want. Modifying the above script and changing the !mp3 to !anime they could go "!anime get Ai_Yori_Aoshi_S1_E3.mkv" in a private message to the bot and itll dcc them the file they specified. This is what the whole "$2-" thing is about where it assigns $2- the value of Ai_Yori_Aoshi_S1_E3.mkv. The !anime get (episode name) would have to be done AFTER they do !anime to obtain the textfile list of the anime files the bot has. If you would like for me to be the Kametsu IRC-coder whore Ill be glad to do so. Just write me up what you require/desire. But keep in mind every concurrent dcc session the bot has the less bandwidth the current downloaders will get. So you need a fairly fat internet connection on the bots client.

Ah, maybe its something I am not accustomed to as far as forum-browsing/posting is concerned. All the forums that I have been on up to this point have either put "MOVED: forum section --" or "Merged: thread name" appended at the beginning of the thread title IF it is a thread. If a post or thread has been deleted its from my understanding best practice by the forum software to at least send the user whos post was deleted an automated PM stating as such. As far as posting goes. From the other forums I frequent(tranceaddict, wow-guild oriented forums, and game manufacturer sanctioned forums) I only usually create a new thread or post in a post if something jumps out at me somewhere in life that I feel would be beneficial to the community I post on. Its just my "posting personality" However, IF this is an occasion that there might be some database issues happening then bringing it to the forefront of the community and for members to post about similar situations would be advantageous to the admin-crew here to look into it.
-
I have started 3 or so threads here in the last month or two and they all seem to be gone. Is this a database issue or an "I think as an administrator it is spam" issue? Either case, if its a database issue. You guys should check the logs or call the service providers up. Some ppl might be having similar issues. There was one in the game forums about me wanting to start up an IRC channel for Kametsu gamers. Another about industrial music in the entertainment section And a few replies to other posts that didnt resemble quetin tarentino one-liners and were thoroughly thought out. This should help the powers at be track them down in the database backups that occur regularly via MYSQL server standards.
-
We apparently have some Industrial music haters here or a database issue occured. Heres a more in-depth post. Industrial music is a style of experimental music that draws on transgressive and provocative themes. The term was coined in the mid-1970s with the founding of Industrial Records by the band Throbbing Gristle, and the creation of the slogan "industrial music for industrial people". In general, the style is harsh and challenging. Allmusic defines industrial as the "most abrasive and aggressive fusion of rock and electronic music"; "initially a blend of avant-garde electronics experiments (tape music, musique concrète, white noise, synthesizers, sequencers, etc.) and punk provocation".[1] The first industrial artists experimented with noise and aesthetically controversial topics, musically and visually, such as fascism, serial killers and the occult. Their production was not limited to music, but included mail art, performance art, installation pieces and other art forms.[2] Prominent industrial musicians include Throbbing Gristle, SPK, Boyd Rice, Cabaret Voltaire, and Z'EV.[2] The precursors that influenced the development of the genre included acts such as electronic group Kraftwerk, experimental rock acts Killing Joke, The Velvet Underground and Frank Zappa, psychedelic rock artists such as Jimi Hendrix, composers such as John Cage, writers such as William S. Burroughs, and philosophers such as Friedrich Nietzsche. Some other artists to note: The birthday massacre, NIN, Stromkern, Assemblage 23, etc... Heres 500+ minutes of Assemblage If you dont like Industrial music post what you like.

AOD: overclock to your hearts content if you want. When I was chillin with some EE majors they put stuff through stress tests for the local micro-chip mfgrs and they pushed some whacky numbers. But the statistics they came up with(ms and phd level research) was that 15-25 is a precarious spot to put any chip. I was glad speed was able to point out to you the meaning of what I was saying. I am a computer enthusiast at heart and for some goofy reason the "relationship" I have is similar to the Nirvash/Renton/Eureka complex. Theyre kinda like people to me in a way and even more so as AI improves. If you really want to be daring and dastardly, take a cpu that you will most likely never use again. Fashion a tinfoil bowl and use it to fry an egg on. The cooking of the egg oddly enough absorbs ALOT of latent heat. You have to be quick about it though or youll hear a pop similar to that of a popcorn kernel when the cpu finally computes its last binary-breath *tears up*. I remember a P2 was able to fry up 6 eggs before it went pop. We only pushed one of them to that limit otherwise we were careful as they did cost a pretty penny back when they were bleeding edge. Happy over-clocking but remember, if you dont cool your chips off well enough. Theyll slap you back with nasty shutdowns/error-screens. Speed: submit the problems on their forums they might be able to help you out or you could help them out with some programming know-how as well.
