  2. Voting for SOTW is now open!!! Please note that we're going back to the first, second, third choice voting format. We're going to use that when we have four or more entries. We'll use a poll if there are only two or three entries.

And if we only get one entry (or no entries at all), we'll have to extend the deadline.

  3. Voting is now open!!! After speaking with Athena, we've decided to bring back the first, second, third choice voting format. We're going to use that format when we have four or more entries, and we'll use a poll if we have two or three entries. Obviously, if we only have one entry (or none!!!), we'll have to extend the deadline. Please see this post for rules and entries.
  4. Haha, but I'm seriously considering having both voting systems in place for either circumstance. The first, second, third voting format truly is the superior one. It's a lot more fun, more fair, and it seems to lower the chance of ties. It also encourages more discussion and keeps the threads alive. Polls are easier, but they're also extremely boring. But I like the idea of having the poll as a Plan B when activity is too low in a given week. I like that more than pushing back deadlines, because I rather keep the contests flowing. I feel like activity is picking up a little, anyway. Maybe because now we can make entries over the weekend?
  5. I think I remember now why we switched to the other voting format. There were too many ties with a poll, haha! Haha, I think we're screwed either way. The reason we went back to the polls is because it was getting to the point where we weren't getting enough entries each week and we kept having to push back deadlines. I love the first, second, third place format, but it requires at least four entries (since participants can't vote for themselves), and there were several weeks where that didn't happen and then the deadline had to be pushed back. At least the poll only requires two entries. But now all of a sudden, more people are participating, so maybe we can go back to the other voting format? I don't even know. Maybe we're getting more participation because now people can work on their entries over the weekend? Lol, it's impossible to make everyone happy. Some people were acting like they prefer the poll format anyway. I'm good with whatever. Oh, I know! What if we do the first, second, third format if there are enough entries, and we do the poll if there aren't enough entries?
  6. That's what I was thinking. Unless, of course, they decide to do a horizontal Death Note signature. In that case, the limit will be the normal 600x220 pixels. But yeah, the vertical signatures will just be the opposite (220x600 pixels).

      Horray for entering!

  11. That would be because it used to last until Sunday night. We used to have entries due by Friday night and voting due by Sunday night. We have recently changed it to entries being due on Wednesday night and voting due by Friday night. Same amount of time as before, just moved the days of the week. As you can see, now people can actually work on entries over the weekend. The old way had the weekend being used for voting only. Many people (myself included) work during the week and are off on the weekends, so we figured this would help more people participate.
  12. This BOTM has been extended another month due to the lack of entries.
  13. SIGNATURE OF THE WEEK #183 Theme: Vertical Signatures / Death Note RULES: All entries are to be submitted by Wednesday, March 4th. Your entry must be related to the chosen theme. Only one entry per participant. However, you may edit your entry until the deadline. Signatures must be your own work. Entries can be in GIF, JPG, JPEG or PNG format, and should be no larger than 600x220 pixels. Animated signatures are allowed. Pre-made signatures are allowed, as long as they have not been used in a past Kametsu competition. In addition to your entry, please also submit a theme idea for next week's competition. Please check the SOTW Themes thread to make sure your theme has not already been used. Please read all Graphical Division Rules and Forum Rules before entering. All rules apply. Only entries should be posted until voting begins. Anything besides entries and staff announcements will be treated as spam and will be deleted. Comments, criticism, and discussions should be saved for voting. Exceptions such as theme clarification will be allowed at the discretion of the Graphics Team. Complaints about the theme will not be tolerated, as this is disrespectful to the previous winner. As such, these posts will be deleted.
  14. Voting is closed, and our winners are Bardon and LimitLess!!! Congratulations, both of you!!! Because we have a tie, we will have two themes next week, Vertical Signatures and Death Note!!! Thank you to everyone who participated!

    Persona 5

Haha, okay! I'll let you dream to your heart's content. Now, back to the topic at hand, Persona 5. I don't know if everyone's been keeping up with the latest news, but about a week after the last trailer was released, some new details were revealed. Even though this was a couple of weeks ago, I kept forgetting to update this thread, so here it is. Rather than typing it all out (I'm lazy), I'll just go ahead and link y'all to a couple of really good Kotaku articles. Analyzing the Persona 5 Trailer Getting To Know Persona 5 And here are some great Gematsu articles. I also strongly recommend the Persona 5 articles on the Megami Tensei Wiki. This Wiki is really good about keeping up-to-date with the latest news. I not only recommend it for Persona 5, but for the whole Megami Tensei franchise as well. There are awesome articles for just about anything you can think of within the Megami Tensei series and all its spinoffs. The main page even has a News section and a Release Dates & Events section. Persona 5

Yes, the ending really is heartbreaking. But how could they possibly change it and still have it make sense? And why would they want to change such an amazing ending? Sure, it's beyond sad, but it's also beautiful. And powerful. And dramatic. And super important for plot reasons. Even if they somehow found a way to make a happier ending, it wouldn't be canon. It COULDN'T be canon, for that matter. And that's all I can say right here without spoiling it for the others. Oh yeah, and I've been meaning to start watching the Persona 3 movies but haven't gotten around to it yet. But I will soon!!! I saw a few clips and they look AMAZING.
  21. You're not interested in playing Type-0 HD? I'm viewing the FFXV demo as a bonus, not the reason why I'd grab Type-0. I can't speak for CardGames, but I want both Type-0 HD AND the FFXV demo inside of me, tbh. Seriously though, I'm super pumped up about both.

    Persona 5

Oh, don't get me wrong. I absolutely think P3P is the superior version too! Along with all the other wonderful changes, the convenience of a portable Persona 3 is undeniable. But I still feel like you get the "full" experience by playing both P3 and P3P. You lose a bit of the emotion (and Persona is an emotional series!!!) when watching the events and conversations between characters in visual novel style. You know, with just portraits. The PS2 version is just like P4 in that aspect, where you actually have the characters on the screen acting out the scene along with the portraits that pop up in front of them. It's a small thing, I know. Haha, so you're a Yukari fan. That's okay! I must admit that I didn't care for her at first but she grew on me! She's not my favorite, but I have a place in my heart for all the characters. And omg, I tried to play The Answer on my copy of FES a long time ago, and it was way too difficult to be fun. You are absolutely correct in that it is beyond a grindfest (and I actually like grinding...but this was too much!!!). So I watched it on YouTube. And yeah, Yukari is super bitchy, haha. But I understand why.
  23. I'm actually very excited about this! The first two seasons of Digimon are the best, in my opinion (I never really got into the seasons after that), so it's so wonderful they are going back to Digimon Adventure. And I don't mind the change in art style. Times change and the style of anime changes with it. I actually love redesigns anyway. It's always so fun to see your favorite characters evolve with the times!
  24. I would also like to add that I'm extremely upset I couldn't get one of those Skull Kid figurines. I fucked up and waited WAY too long to pre-order Majora's Mask 3D and totally missed out on the limited edition.
