  1. As a kid (6-11ish), I used to watch Dragon Ball/Z, Pokemon, Zoids, and even Sailor Moon when they were on television in the mornings but I never really knew they were anime (although I could tell they were different from the usual cartoons) until years later. Then I never really paid any attention to or got into anime for a few years, until last year (when I was 17) when a few of my friends would continuously talk about and share videos of this anime called Bleach. They urged me to get into and after a while I gave in and started watching a few episodes. I really liked it. After catching up to the airing episodes of Bleach, I searched for related/top rated anime through google and forums and streaming sites (Code Geass came next, then Clannad then more) and just got more and more into anime. A year on I'm still watching anime almost daily.

  2. I recently finished Casshern Sins. I absolutely loved the art and soundtrack, both were amazing and the fight scenes were epic. The story was also great, although it felt to me that some of it could have been executed and explained a bit better I guess (more back story etc.) The ending kind of left me a little unsatisfied but only a little. But overall a great series, and a great feel to it.

I also just finished Moribito. It too had an amazing soundtrack and art. I really enjoyed this series, especially the closure of the ending.

  3. I exclusively watch dubs. For some reason I just can't stand subs. I just feel that the constant reading takes too much away from the experience of watching an anime and I can't get into it as much. Plus it's harder for me to appreciate the art if I'm constantly looking at the bottom of the screen reading the subtitles. Plus, sometimes Japanese voices are so irritating, having said that, there are some insanely annoying English voices as well.

  4. Just finished Gurren Lagann. I dropped it after 6 episodes about 7 or 8 months ago because it wasn't really doing it for me. But that was a stupid idea, because episode 7 is where it gets awesome, and it doesn't stop getting more and more and more and more awesome until it finishes. It's just so epic and just downright amazing. I don't really like rating anime but I'd give it about a 9/10 only because of the some of the horribly unfunny humour (to me anyway) in the first few episodes and some of the terribly annoying and pointless characters.

  5. I just finished Baccano! and I was definitely not disappointed. The way the story was told was amazing and each episode kept me intrigued and guessing what would happen next, all the while answering questions and posing new ones. It was hard to follow at times because of all the time jumps but once you figured out what was going on it just added to its general awesomeness. All in all, an amazing series.
