  1. I just got finished watching Zeta Gundam, so I am kinda in the same position you are with not knowing where to go. I thought Zeta was good, and it reminded me of why I love UC gundam, but if I were to describe the series with one word it would be disappointing. I really don't get the main characters personality, since he often switches between stubborn child, ruthless soldier, and pacifistic newtype saver. I think the only reason why it was any good at all was the return of characters you fell in love with in the original Gundam.

I am basically all set to watch Double Zeta, but I am curious... I have never even heard of MSG IGLOO. Should I go back and watch them?

  2. If you want something that is a non-action anime that will keep you coming back, I would suggest Welcome To The NHK. It is a pretty funny anime, but the storyline can be really intense at times. Most of what makes it great is how easy it is to relate to the character, as he finds himself getting into bad situations over and over again. This is also a unique anime in my opinion, so that keeps it interesting as well.

  3. I read up on Borderlands 2 with my issue of Game Informer. It actually looks really cool. It seems the emphasis is going to be on having a decent storyline in the game (which makes sense, but other than the end I liked Borderlands' story.) as well as better NPC interactions. The charachters are gonna be different from the first game, but they will be in Borderlands 2 as NPCs throughout the story.

It looks like the guns in the first game are being scrapped, and they are coming out with a whole new line that focuses more on the manufacturers personal style. If there is one thing Gearbox does right it is guns, so I am pretty sure we have no worries there.

I am really excited for it, but I doubt that Borderlands will ever stop being fun to play.

  4. You have probably seen them, but I know a few other good ones.

Samurai Champloo is another action packed anime, but very random at times.

FLCL is hilarious, but it will take a few tries to figure out the plot (it really does exist, you just gotta pick up on it)

Avatar: The Last Airbender Is a long series, but if you haven't seen it you are in for a treat. It is funny, and the plot is good.

  5. Minecraft! Running from spiders, creepers popping up out of nowhere, skeleton archers with aim that could put Robin Hood to shame... as well as outrunning lava that you uncover accidentally, the entire neither world, and getting lost right before nightfall.

  6. You will probably like Gundam 00 if the action in Code Geass pleased you.

The storyline is fantastic, the plethora of good characters is another plus.

I also think that Neon Genesis Evangelion might be a good pick for you if you haven't already seen it. It is a bit wordy at times, but still good. Get past the first three episodes before dropping it.

Also, those are some pretty intense and somewhat depressing shows, so if you wanna try something different, Vandread is a good option. It is funny with pretty good action. The romance is just silly, but you will wind up liking all of the cast.

  7. I wouldn't call them useless, but the purpose they served is no longer what they stand for. These people are supposed to be heroes, but your average cop is a high school dropout with an ego inversely proportionate to his/hers intelligence.

I would say get rid of them, but people are so hell bent on rioting and committing crimes that a watchdog becomes necessary.

  8. Not too many things are exactly like it... Inuyasha does come to mind with its cast and characters, as well as a long story that will take you a while to solve. Many Naruto fans have a thing for the cool factor of some of the characters and that is where the two differ, since even though a lot of them are basically the same, Naruto has a way of making them look better. The only anime that I can think of that also does this is Bleach.

Notice that those are all big name animes that have tons of episodes... here is one that is different. I know people are gonna hate me for even comparing the two, but if you can stand subs, watch Tiger and Bunny. You will find many mirrored traits between Kotetsu/Wild Tiger and Naruto, as well as a few others in the cast. unfortunately, like Naruto, the series is ongoing. Also, you are stuck with subs, but if you are a true Naruto fan, you have been on subs for a long time.

  9. You have probably already seen it, but Rurouni Kenshin seems like a nice fit. s-CRY-ed might also be good for you, though towards the end it gets more deep than humorous. Depending on how cartoony of an anime you can stand, you might like Shaman King. My biggest must see is Avatar, The Last Airbender, but you probably have seen it already.

I could think of more if you have seen all of these.. that category is really expansive.

  10. I watched both the new and the old NG, but I am trying to look at it like someone who hasn't seen the original. There is a lot less dialogue (which is good because 90% of it is just the same thing repeated over and over in the original) but the story is just as confusing as ever. They also keep the biggest surprises in the story until the end... which means you aren't sure why the stuff is happening till you get there.

Also I wasn't trying to make CG seem like anime for Mensa members... I am just saying that there are reasons for most of the actions and events that transpire, and it is often fun to realize why the character did it.

    I honestly don't know what would qualify as the thinking mans Anime, but if I did, I probably wouldn't recommend it to a Code Geass fanatic. ^^;;

  11. :/

I can understand Break Blade... But Neon Genesis Rebuild? If anything is gonna shatter the "Brilliance" of CG it would be the emotional trauma the viewer receives while watching the events of that show unfold at lightning speed. Plus the shows are way too different. Code Geass makes you think while Neon Genesis makes you struggle to understand. Both require brainpower, but if you can't keep up with Lelouch's train of thought you won't be lost for the rest of the series.

I do wish I would have though of break blade first though... it is probably the best fit so far.

  12. Borderlands.

I Know! It surprised me too! This game is ridiculously fun, replayable, hilarious, and strategically deep.

I am a big fps fan, so the gameplay fits like a glove, and as far as RPGs go it is solid.

    I can't wait for Borderlands 2.
