The fun part of this question is that we don't know for sure what the answer is with firsthand proof. Logically the answer is pretty simple. Evolution is usually seen in forms of mutation, and mutation occurs in the genes of cells. Most of you probably know that your genetic code doesn't change from the moment you are born, so any mutations that happen are going to be during the conception period. Though evolution is much slower than my example, the first chicken would have had two prehistoric bird parents that had an odd egg. Bottom line: Egg.

I think love just might be title we use to justify attachment. There are many aspects that people can have that make you like them, but its the people you love that are the ones that you want to be with. Family is a good example, since from the moment you are born, you are with them. This automatically gives you an incredibly strong feeling of attachment, that is almost impossible to sever. I think that might be what we call unconditional love. The things that bother people in love the most are usually stuff that involves being apart from one another. Death is a big thing, but also divorce, kids moving away from home, switching schools, turning into a long distance relationship, military deployment, ect. Love isn't some magical feeling, its just when you don't want to be without them or it in your life.

what are some good scifi animes?
CaNzCo replied to ShiroNeko-__-'s topic in Recommendations & Reviews
If you are into a more drama based Sci Fi with a killer plot, check out Scrapped Princess. It may be a rough start, but you won't regret it. Honestly if you haven't seen many good ones, check out the classics. Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, and Trigun may be your cup of tea. -
How about Condor, the Ninja Ostrich? Someone actually thought that he was a good idea.... twice....

So dumb I needed to look it up. Fortunately it seems like a spoof for the most part. In order to salvage some sense, maybe we could discuss the drive to protest? Though most people couldn't care less about the rights of plants, there are a ton of things people are willing to start a movement for. I think these movements are driven primarily by people in mass. When two or more people get together with a goal, they usually try harder to achieve it, (losing weight with a friend is much easier than by yourself for this reason) followed by the strength in numbers mentality, any group of people would be willing to fight the system... or plant abusers... n_n;

The climax at the ending does change. In one scenario, you have a person who stops the greatest evil in the world and changes the world into a paradise, and then we have a person who stops the greatest evil just to become an even greater evil. What makes that person a hero in my opinion, is the fact that he can change the future to his will. I don't mean to belittle the people serving in the military, firefighters, or policemen, but though each of them help make the world a better, safer place, there is still crime, fire and war.

Though this is a definition of power in terms of physics, it is still pretty true. Work just doesn't just mean a job though, it is the actual labor of doing something. Basically, power would be how much and how long you can influence what gets done. The price of power is innocence. If you are in charge, you are forced into a position where no matter what you do, your choice(s) effects those around you. They may have put you in charge, but what right does someone in power actually have over someone else?
-
I kinda like the Fable version of "Hero." In a nutshell, a hero is someone who has the power to change things. Power is what separates a hero from everyone else. I don't think evil or good really has anything to do with it, mostly because in the end, the people in charge decide what is right and wrong.

It isn't so much that I can't solve the problem as it is Google causing problems in the first place. Even if I can say Obama sucks in house to my friends, I would still be pissed if I couldn't say it to anyone I met.

The main thing I disagree with is the "Killing people is wrong" part. I am no murderer, I just think that the birth and death cycle should not be associated with murder, and instead be associated with natural death. If a person is killed, there is a possibility of immoral actions taking place, just like the prevention of childbirth by means of a forced abortion or some other overly drastic measure. The choice to create life should be as a free from moral judgement as possible, just like death should be. Maybe a similarity to choosing not to create life could be committing suicide, since you are not allowing life to continue in both circumstances to an extent. I personally don't see anything wrong with suicide, since it is your life and you can end it if you want... and I have no problem with people not wanting to have children for whatever reason.

I don't see where Google gets the nerve to censor searches on the internet. If I am going to get my freedoms encroached upon, it had better be by the government, not a site that is profiting because I use it.

Good review, though it should be noted that Rave Master and Fairy Tale are made by the same person, Hiro Mashima, so its not like there is anything wrong with him using a similar build.

Duality is just part of the proof we need to explain things. If I said America is my favorite place to live in the world, it would be true, but it has no real meaning since I have never lived anywhere else. That would be my example of ignorance, like a baby who doesn't know right from wrong. In order to fully understand something, we must also comprehend what it is not. Duality is really a myth for the most part, because not everything has an exact opposite. Up seems like the opposite of down, however in terms of acceleration they are both identical. If I kidnap someone it is evil, but if that person was going to commit murder and I prevented it, I did a good thing. If you must put everything in two categories, then you have "something" and "everything except that thing."

If a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound?
CaNzCo replied to shyguysteve's topic in Mako Reactor
By definition, it does make a sound. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/sound Now, if we want to discuss the philosophy of existence we can start from this point on. In this joke, the tree in a secluded forest is proven to exist by the fact that it says a "tree falls." We know of the existence of many things without human senses detecting them. I can't hear a dog whistle, but it does make a sound... my Pit Bull told me so. I guess I can't prove anything with out proving that you are not the center of the universe, and all existence is based around what you see, hear and know... however I can make a good attempt at convincing you otherwise: I have a secret, and I am not telling you what it is. Now, if you are the center of the universe, and nothing occurs unless you perceive it, than my secret simply cannot actually exist; I assure you it does though. We don't live in the matrix, where your life is just your mind being led by its senses. We live in an ever expanding universe, perhaps one of many. That sound a tree makes when falling has just as much of a right to exist as I do, and the same goes for you. -
Well, I am not exactly what you mean by mythical creatures... but I will give it a shot. Wolfs Rain may be up your alley. It has a good dub, as well as a decent story. The ending is really where it shines though, so if you can't make it that far you might not wanna try it. Heroic Age is a little bit of a stretch, but it is still good and the action is pretty. It is another dubbed anime and is worth the time. Princess Mononoke is a good movie that might fit in to your criteria loosely. You probably already saw it though. Other than that I am drawing a blank... I am certain there should be a bunch of dragon anime's out there but I just can't come up with any good ones... but then again since I watched Legend of the Millennium Dragon I have had a bad taste in my mouth.

Black Cat has a lot of similarities, and is also a pretty good series. Its not the longest anime in the world, but it is worth it. Gunslinger Girl is another one you might wanna look into, but I didn't really like it that much. The theme is pretty similar as well though.

Um, this question is not quite a complete paradox. There is no way to answer that question since there is no way to know how many, if any correct answers there are. Because of the percentages, we are supposed to think the question is about probability, however there is really nothing in the question that actually correlates with the answers. This might lead to people believing it is 0% since there is no way to answer this question, but just because we don't know if there is a correct answer doesn't mean there isn't one. My verdict is that this is in fact a trick question.

Well, if you are trying to get me to say it is okay to make illogical decisions all the time, you are out of luck LL. There is a big difference between doing something for a good reason, and doing something because the options are all unimportant. As for the hay, of course you should just pick one and eat, but this is because both options are good. The same is true for things that don't matter, like what you are gonna wear today, or bad options, like what to eat at McDonald. In other words, there is a reason to do these things.

I think that is pretty much exactly what I had been saying, but it is very eloquently put. The addition is your section on government. Honestly, I think that this is just another form of freedom. We are free to listen to our leaders, our lawmakers, and our superiors... but we are also free to disobey them. You can usually leave for a place that is under a different government, or go to a place where the governments rules rarely apply. I personally hate police and the people who uphold the law, but if they all suddenly disappeared. Riots, murder, rape, and all sorts of other horrible things would happen because of it. Is that what people really want? Is that humanities god given freedom at work?
-
My point was that you are free to except the consequences if you do, well, anything. Though we are not gods, therefore we cannot break the laws of physics, and reality, we can live however we want in our means. There are certain levels of freedom obviously.

Windows 7 64bit. So far I really like it. More options than I need and a smooth interface.
-
We could definitely find a way to not do anything. Sure we aren't free enough to make all of our wildest desires to come true (I'd really like to marry Juno Temple but that's not happening) but if we are given an option, we are always free to turn it down. If you don't want to eat then starve, if you don't want to breath then drown, if you don't want to shit... disembowel yourself... or maybe find a big cork. Its kind of a negative approach, but the only other freedom we have, is to try. You may not make it to the moon, but I won't stop you from jumping.

You can also make assumptions on what someone or some creature may be be thinking. I expect a bat to think in terms of primal instincts such as hunger, fear, confusion, or a need to mate. Another possible option would be that they can't think like normal because it may not be self aware. it would feel hungry, but without language it could not actually put those thoughts in a comprehensible order. I assume that would be like doing every action instantaneously without hesitation, since your instincts are all you have. I guess that might be like when you wake up and hit the snooze button on your alarm clock. You can't really think about it... you just make stuff happen.

VERY similar to Cowboy Bebop, except instead of the characters being the best but getting unlucky and lose, they are pretty good but end up lucking out against stronger people to win. Baccano! is also pretty similar in the general feel and it being a comedy/action. Its definitly not part of a futuristic timeline, but it has a lots of other interesting features in that world.

Umm, We know a heck of a lot about the ocean... Considering we can't hold our breath for more than a few minutes underwater, we have been able to explore all but the very deepest depths (and we can't go down there because the pressure is so high that it crushes everything) though we still have a good idea of some of the creatures and the environment down there. Human curiosity is not effected by distance at all. The fact that people are interested in things like Aliens and Ghosts make me believe people want to know about everything no matter what it is. I just think that if there was some way to prove ghosts exist, the greatest minds of our world would have figured out how to do it by now.
