  1. Every year my college (a private Christian affair) has a week devoted to missions, and last time around I recall one of the speakers mentioning that they'd been kicked out of certain areas of the Amazon, because they didn't want the missionaries to interfere with the tribes customs; they wanted to preserve this strain of civilization.

This kind of got me thinking recently. Despite my institution of choice of schools, I'm an atheist, and truly couldn't care less whether or not the gospel is spread (though I'm sure a few peoples opinions differ here, and I'd love to hear from you too, of course), though, as a humanist, I can see the need for medicine, shelter, etc that may also interfere with the native customs.

So my question is: Do we have an anthropological duty to withhold aid from these sorts of peoples in order to preserve them (like a human museum almost)? Is it ethically wrong to interfere with their way of life, and, in turn, replace it with one we deem better? On the contrary, is it wrong to allow people to die by withholding technology or education in order to preserve such a society? To sum it all up, what would you do if you were asked to deal with them?

Just thought it might be an interesting, and slightly different, prompt for discussion. I'll check back later on and add my thoughts, but I want to see a few other people's ideas before I join in.

I think we should just let them do what they gotta do.

  2. is a Hero suppose to be like flying in the air beating the hell out of a bunch of thugs who are trying steal some money from a granny who's trying to cross the road. or like Having some power to Change the mind of a bad guy to make him turn into a good guy.

so Someone fighting for good makes a person Hero What does a hero mean to you

A person who changes for the better, you can bet that, that person well probly rub off on a lot of people.

  3. Shrek. Seriously he is awesome as Donkey.

Of course I like some of his older works as well such as Nutty Professor.

Yeah, nutty pro. was pretty good, think it was the second one though... The Klumps,

was funny to the very end, especially the bloopers, lol couldnt stop laughing.

  4. Y'know I've noticed something about what your saying, The world is changing, thats a fact.

More people are becoming more... tolerant.. me on the other hand aint, but The poeple seem to be a little calmer nowadays. not sure if im right about this, but y'know what I mean.

  5. Now because we are humans, and believe me humans no matter how damn smart they are will always fuck something up, like take religion for example, back then when we seen some other people worshipping in their own way,

    we called it Paganism.

Not praying or worshipping god or great spirit or earthmaker, whatever you wanna call it.. if it was different you were either killed, or converted to your own religion.

I dont know much about religion Im not baptized or something like that. lol

  6. I love the PS3, already has everything you need built-in. So no need to switch, and also it has the least hardware screw-ups too. the X-BOX 360 on the other doesnt really have anything built-in it comes with a controller and the cables to connect a monitor, and not to mention you have to pay for online play.

the Wii is actually an alright system, it doesnt have HD, but its still a pretty good system, I also like its backward compatibility with gamecube games, as well as it's online store having almost every N64 game I like.

So overall its a toss up between The PS3 and The Wii for me. heh.
