  1. So it's been a long while since I watched something that made me feel the burning need to analyze, discuss it, and show it to everyone I can but that time has come again. I just finished the 7 films of Kara no Kyoukai and I'm at a loss for words because the bar has been raised for all animes I watch from here on out. To put it simply, KnK is about a deeply troubled, complex girl called Shiki who awakens to a unique power called the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception which make her virtually unkillable. At the centre of her world is Mikiya, a truly kind and warmhearted guy who is inexplicably drawn to her and tries to break down her many walls of isolation and show her that she can be more than a killer. I could gush about the visuals, music, voice-acting, writing, direction, but all you need to know is that these elements come together like a symphony that can be quiet, beautiful, contemplative, but also completely unnerving and chill-inducing, and when the much awaited action scenes finally come, they are total stop-and-rewind-about-5-times moments. If you're a fan of things like Ga-Rei Zero, Elfen Lied, or Higurashi/When They Cry, these films will be right up your ally. In terms of length, 5 of the 7 movies clock in at about about 50 minutes each, playing out like stand-alone 2-episode story arcs, with movies 5 and 7 being more massive and meaty 2-hour spectacles. I will end this pitch by pointing out that the fifth movie is a mindfuck of such epic proportions that I don't think I can do it justice at this moment. Have you seen Kara no Kyoukai? What is your order of preference for the movies? Also how many times did you poop yourself?
  2. I think I would do pretty much what Light did, I just wouldn't develop a god complex because I have no self-esteem.
  3. When i finished Durarara about 6 months ago I immediately scoured every anime source for word on a potential Season 2, and the consensus seemed to be that it was pretty unlikely, so I kind of let my hope die for the preservation my own sanity. Hell, I seriously considered learning japanese JUST so I could read the 10 light novels so I could get the full story of this because there are no translations. However it does seem like the show is picking more and more fans all the time through word of mouth, so I guess another season is not completely outside the realm of possibility.
  4. Very end of Code Geass made me tear up a bit. Also in Phantom Requiem something very twisted and awful happens to a very loveable character which may have caused a single manly tear to fall. The worst had to be in Clannad Afterstory though. Not the character death, but that other part... Completely made me lose control of my tear ducts for about 10 seconds.
  5. Durarara is based on light novels. Season 1 covers only about half of these. So if Season 2 is green-lit, the story is basically already written so no worries there. If they really do another season I'm pretty sure I'll never get to see it because my damn head will explode.
  6. There will be a season 2? Are you kidding me? I find this very hard to believe, it just seems way too good to be true. I'm sorry but these petitions 99.9% of the time don't mean a thing. If by some act of god this is true, then damn, that will make my life. This show BEGS for a season 2 as the main plot thread is not resolved at the end. I was under the impression that this anime simply didn't make enough money to warrant a season 2. If you've given me false hope I will come back and haunt you one day.
  7. I hate to be generic, but I've always seen Goku as the ultimate hero and paragon of everything that is good in humanity. Screw Jesus, give me Goku.
  8. I <3 Durarara and Baccano! Everyone needs to watch these, anime fan or not. When you say you're saving the last episode for later, are you referring to the OVA episode? If so, you are in for a damn treat, hun
  9. I assume by best you mean favorite. Light Yagami, L, Lelouch, Vino, and Shizuo.
  10. Went over my entire anime list twice and still can't find a character I truly hated. Might have to get back to this one.
  11. Gonna have to go with Frieza to be fair. But really it might be Cell. Just kidding it's Mr. Satan.
  12. How about when a dude gets punched right out of his clothing for being a moron?
  13. Goku is the ultimate paragon of strength, justice and heroism. Superman is just a pansy. Sorry.
  14. If they're good, if they add something to the experience of watching the show, and if they somehow reflect the content in the show, all things that anime OPs and EDs tend not to do. I always watch the ones in Higurashi, Serial Experiments Lain, and Ga-Rei Zero. Excellent ones pop up here and there thankfully.
  15. Black Lagoon easily. Baccano was a great dub too.
  16. Ikki Tousen weaved in an insane amount of ecchi into the show without being too distracting so I'll go with that. High School of the Dead for example got completely derailed by the ecchi after episode 3 or so. Other shows that got it right, hmm... I'm tempted to say Bakemonogatari did it pretty well, also a show like Demon King Daimao used ecchi well primarily for humor. I can't even think of another show I've watched with a significant amount of ecchi...
  17. I think the ones I've come back to the most are Baccano, Durarara, Black Lagoon, Angel Beats, Clannad, Bludgeoning Angel, FLCL, Baka and Test, pretty much anything in my top 10 or that is just plain funny or well paced or mindblowing. I think I've watched Eva 2.22 about a 2000 times give or take a 100.
  18. Evangelion gets pretty sad towards the end when tension stops being released.
  19. Mari from Eva 2.0. Because from the little bits we have seen of her so far, I love everything about her.
  20. Death Note Evangelion Ergo Proxy Higurashi others i cant think off the top
