  1. I think it's a tie between Ichigo from Bleach and Roy Mustang from FMA. I think, though, that I like Roy Mustang just a smidge better because of his character depth and backstory.
  2. Well, I am incredibly biased, but my favorites are Lacrimosa (Kuroshitsuji, Kalafina) and Magia (Kalafina). I also really like Again from FMA Brotherhood and Shunkan Sentimental from FMA Brotherhood. I have others, but the list is way toooooo long to give completely.
  3. It is tie between Colonel Awesome...erm Roy Mustang, Ling Yao, and Al. Ed is also way up there. I love Roy Mustang because he is just such an amazing character with a fantastic back story. Ling Yao amazes me with his compassion and goofiness that are intermixed with his serious side. Al is such a sweetheart. Think of the kitten!
  4. There are several I really love. The soundtrack for Blood+ is absolutely breath taking. I also really like the soundtracks for both FMA and Brotherhood. Really well done. Ouran High School Host Club also has a really neat classical sounding soundtrack.
  5. Air. That anime made me cry enough to need tissues. It is sooooooo sad. I think you'd really enjoy it. It's really beautiful.
  6. Makoto Shishio. Though I don't know if I think he's truly evil. He's just very misguided. I think his conviction is super cool (even if he is wrong) and I love his plots. He uses history in an ironic manner to exact his revenge. <3
  7. Goku by far, especially if it's kid Goku. He is so naive and innocent and adorable, and he really cares about his friends, even those who aren't always that nice to him. I want to glomp him.
  8. I almost always watch them at least once (unless I absolutely HATE the song, which has happened). If I love the song, then I watch it and sing along unless I am in some kind of hurry. If it's the opening, I often sit and watch that because it's got action. The endings tend to be what I skip, if anything, because they aren't usually as interesting.
  9. Haha, this is going to be a long and very strange list. I am currently reading Dengeki Daisy, Bleach, Faster than a Kiss, Reimei no Arcana, Akagami no Shirayuki Hime, Apothecarius Argentum, Mairunovich, Kuragehime, Kaichou wa Maid-sama, Yankee-kun to Megane-chan, Hadashi de Bara wo Fume, Kimi wa Boku no Toriko Nare, and Hakushaku to Yousei. There are a ton more, but I can't think of them all right now. I also read a large portion of what Aerandria scans releases.
  10. I would try to destroy it, if possible. No one has the right to try and clean up the world themselves. If that was not possible, then I would probably hide it somewhere no one could find it so that it would not wind up in the wrond hands.
  11. Well, my friend has posted a picture on facebook that shows what characters she thinks fit which people. Granted, this was not limited to anime, so what I am about to describe is not limited to anime. She said I was a mixture of Takino Tomo from Azumanga Daioh and Maya Fey from the Phoenix Wright video game series. ---------- Post added at 04:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:48 PM ---------- Well, my friend has posted a picture on facebook that shows what characters she thinks fit which people. 12. When I choose a good anime, there are several factors I look into: genre, artwork, and setting. I use the genre to see if the anime will fit my interests. That isn't to say that I won't like an anime if it doesn't fit certain genres, however I do tend to find that my favorite animes often fall into certain genres. I tend to prefer animes that have a lot of action and adventure, but do not skimp on character developments and relationships. This is probably one of the reasons why I love FMA Brotherhood and Rurouni Kenshin so much. I also tend to enjoy comedy, but only in the proper situations. I also enjoy shoujo, but to a lesser extent if the action adventure element is missing. Ouran High School Host Club is an acception to this rule, because it falls more into the genre of shoujo making fun of itself. As an individual, I tend to like anime with a good balance of romance, characterization, and action. The artwork is probably the least important part for me, however, I do find that it is more important for certain kinds of animes than others. For example, in an action packed anime like Samurai Champloo where sword-fighting is a key part of the plot, the artwork is critical. But for a shoujo anime based on high school life, I find the artwork to be less important. That said, I am less likely to enjoy an anime if the artwork is poor, and I find that most animes that are good also have good artwork. However, one must also take into account the era of the anime when judging the artwork, as one cannot expect an anime from the 1980s or 1990s to have the same flawless artwork of an anime released in the last five years simply because the technology to produce anime of that quality either did not exist or was extremely hard to come by. Finally, the setting plays a huge role in my choice of an anime. Again, this is not completely black and white. For the most part I tend to stay away from high school romance animes (save things like Ouran and certain others) because I find them to be too superficial for me and to not have enough interest. If the only thing the anime is based on is the love between two shy and unexperienced high school students, I usually get bored. I am 23 and have already gone through high school. If it's a manga, this is totally different, but as far as anime go, this is usually a standard. This standard, however, definitely excludes animes like Escaflowne or Blood+ where the characters are in high school, but it does not revolve solely around their high school experiences. From the opposite perspective, I find that if an anime is in some sort of historical setting, I usually like it. There are always other factors that come into play when I choose an anime. If one of my favorite music groups like Kalafina sang an opening or an ending for the anime, I am more likely to try it out just because I watched the opening or ending and had my curiousity peeked.
  13. Spice and Wolf definitely has a medieval theme to it. I would also recommend, like many others have said, Claymore, Record of the Lodoss War, and Berserk. One other anime that was not listed, but that definitely falls into this category would be Escaflowne. There are some sci-fi elements to it, but overall it takes place in a medieval world (note that the first couple of episodes might lead you to think otherwise, but this is not the case). I hope this helps! I think it might help people better understand what you're looking for if you gave us some more details. The term "medieval" is extremely broad. I am assuming that you want animes that seem to place in a world that somewhat resembles medieval Europe, based on what other people have posted, but there are a lot of other animes that take place in medieval Japan, for example.
  14. This is a grey area for me. It depends on the anime and the voice actors used. In fact, sometimes I'll like two characters from the same anime, but prefer the English voice of one and the Japanese voice of the other. For example, I overall prefer the Japanese version of Rurouni Kenshin, especially for Kenshin and Kaoru. However when it comes to Saitou and Shishio, I prefer the English voice actors (Kirk Thornton and Steven Jay Blum respectively). I feel the English voice actors better captured the characters. I am not going to do into details, as this post would end up being like 50 pages long, but I feel that somehow those two characters are better portrayed by the English voice actors. Other animes, I prefer the dub, plain and simple. Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood are three of such animes. I've watched parts of the Japanese version of Trigun and all of the English version of Trigun, and I feel that Johnny Yong Bosch is the better Vash. With Cowboy Bebop, I haven't even seen that anime in Japanese, but from what I have observed, most people prefer the dub. I have seen some of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood in Japanese, however I saw the original FMA dubbed and fell in love with certain voices (such as Roy Mustang and Maes Hughes), so I prefer the English dub. I find overall that Funimation tends to do fairly good dubs, so if I don't prefer the English dub, it is usually at least comparable to the Japanese version. One series I can't decide between the dub and the Japanese is Hetalia. In Japanese, Italy's voice gives me a cutegasm. But in the English dub they do such good accents and France makes me die inside in a good way (and I am getting an M.A. in French, so I am super picky about the accent).
  15. Hmmmm. That's a toughie. Let's see. Such a looooong list. 01. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (read the manga first, and seeing it animated was like dying and going to heaven) 02. Ouran High School Host Club (I have rewatched this anime soooooo many times) 03. Rurouni Kenshin (I wish so much that they had fully animated the Jinchuu Arc, but this is another anime I've watched over and over again. It is what really got me into anime in the first place!) 04. Escaflowne (Old school! The artwork bugs me a little bit, seeing as the characters' don't need weapons because they could stab people to death with their noses alone, but what an amazing story!) 05. Gurren Lagan (JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM? Great plot and the whole basis for the anime is rather inspiring on a philosophical level.)
