    Summer 2019 Anime Season

You must have problems reading? No where did I ever claim any diferent. What I said was in fact "Sentai confirmed that DanMachi S2 will be Dubcasted".
  2. S03E16: Holy crap. Who the heck is left? Wow. This season has been something else. Is there gonna be anyone left after this? lol. I hope this ride continues through the end. What a fabulous second half to the season this has been.

    Summer 2019 Anime Season

I usually like to read over RandomC's seasonal preview as they delve a bit into the people behind the show and some past projects while kind of giving their impressions and including a couple PVs, but they don't release it until right before the season begins usually. That's usually when I make a decision on some of the iffy ones on my list and then some that I'm still not decided on I'll watch a few eps and either drop it or continue it. Mainly because I know for a fact I do not have the time to keep up with that many shows in a single season and my backlog continues to pile up as it is. So I attempt to cut down my seasonal pick-ups as much as I can without missing out on something I'd probably really like. Whether a show that I'm iffy on gets Dubcast/Simuldub or not also affects my willingness to watch it as I can multi-task better with it going if it's dubbed and thus more likely to stay caught up. That said, FUNi has confirmed a Simuldub for 'The Ones Within'.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is happening.

They've already confirmed they vastly expanded the Midgar section. Also from what I've read/understood, it sounds like they cut a substantial amount of original content out such as Honey Bee Inn, Bro's Gym and Don Corneo's Mansion, which also means they cut out the sewers. “Remaking Final Fantasy VII has allowed us to dive much deeper into the world and its characters than ever before,” said producer Yoshinori Kitase. “The first game in this project expands on the story of Midgar and is such an elaborate retelling that it’s become a solid standalone game in its own right.”

  7. Hmm you linked to FF7, when this is talking about FF8. =p
  8. I know it's not on par with XBONE and PS4, but Nintendo has pretty much never been on-par with those two in any generation. So it's not exactly a fair comparison imo. However the Switch in hand-held mode is significantly better that any previous Nintendo home console and what I'd consider on-par with what we could have expected from Nintendo even if they didn't go the route of making it hand-held. Games are higher res than even the Wii U, which was Nintendo's last system before the Switch. So in terms of what we should have expected from a new Nintendo console, the Switch in hand-held mode is at least a step up from their last gen console. But, you're missing the point that I intended to infer with that original comment. In comparison between say Nintendo 3DS to the Gamecube or Wii even, there is a big difference in looks and design. The fact that the Switch is both separately Nintendo's most powerful console and most powerful hand-held to date and maintains the same game library across both with very little graphical differences in most games depending on which mode of play you roll with is a massive step up in the quality of hand-held gaming. To me it was a game changer much more so than either the XBONE or PS4 in such regards. It's simply a big step in the right direction towards increasing portability of gaming. It's true some (or rather most, if not nearly all, 3rd party) games are inferior quality on the Switch, especially the Witcher port which took a huge dump in quality. However some games, such as the FFX remaster, actually had almost no visible drop in quality in comparison to the PS4 version. It was a fairly minimal difference according to this: Of course one could argue that because it was original a PS2 game that has just been remastered that somehow the differences would be less than something developed this generation, I still think it's a feat worth mentioning.
  9. We don't know how many games the Final Fantasy VII Remake will be split across, but the title's producer has said that those future entries will have a quicker development time than the experience that kicks things off in March 2020. At E3 2019, producer Yoshinori Kitase took to Twitter to say: "While the development team finish the first game in the project, we are continuing to plan and outline the overall volume of content for the second. Due to the work already done on the first game we anticipate development of the second game to be more efficient. We have our own internal schedule and plan, but for now we’d like to focus our information on the first game in the project." It's definitely good news for fans, who have been waiting for this initial game since its announcement all the way back at E3 2015. It appears that the work done on Midgard will be used as a sort of basis for what comes afterwards, as character models and the battle system will already be complete. Is Final Fantasy VII Remake going to end up on the PS5 as well as the PS4? We certainly wouldn't bet against it. In fact, we'd probably put money on it getting a PS5 version when the console launches, supposedly in late 2020. But Square Enix isn't quite ready to unveil its plans for next-gen just yet, as you'd expect. It is, however, willing to say that Final Fantasy VII Remake is being developed as a cross-gen title. Speaking to Game Informer, Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda said: "I believe that our teams have made it so that the game will support both the next generation and the current generation of consoles. I believe it is being developed so that it is going to be playable on both." In other words, the developer is future proofing. We already know that Final Fantasy VII Remake is going to be split into multiple games, and by the time the second chapter comes out, the PS4 will be a last-gen machine. There's obviously no way that Square Enix is just going to ignore the PS5 once it's here, so it makes total sense for the company to craft a game that can stretch into the next generation. Let's hope it's good enough to buy twice, eh? Are you pleased with this news? Predict how many years we'll be waiting until this whole thing is complete in the comments below.

    Final Fantasy VIII (8) Discussion

Loved the reveal of the FF8 Remaster, but sadly it looks like they've only updated character models while ignoring the backgrounds.
  12. I love the concept/idea of a home console with the ability to go hand-held, but in reality I'd probably almost never use the hand-held option of it. Same with a laptop, in which I very rarely use it away from having it plugged into an outlet. Probably partly because the battery life is shit on my laptop, but also because I just really don't have time to use it during the time I'm actually away from home at any given time. But it's awesome to see the capability of hand-held systems being on-par with consoles after all the years of hand-helds clearly being several steps down in graphical ability, etc... like during the age of GBA, NDS, etc. Gives hope that more portable tech will be the way of the future.
  13. I wish the PS4 & PC editions of Dragon Quest XI would be updated for the Definitive Edition... Don't really care about the Resident Evil ports. Already have them all for PC. Just hoping for a RE3 & Code Veronica Remake similar to the RE2Remake. The new Zelda game was probably the highlight, but I've never played the first Breath of the Wild. Last Zelda I played was Twilight Princess. Don't currently own a Switch, but it's likely I'll eventually get one for my daughter.
  14. I'm unsure if they mean 2 discs for episode 1, or if they're saying that it's two discs across the series, which means we'd only be getting two episodes. Still no word on when episode 2 will be expected to release.
