Content Distro Rules & Posting Etiquette
Anime Download Forum Rules
These rules are effective immediately and shall be strictly enforced. The staff reserves the right to make modifications as necessary at any time without previous notice.
We encourage all members to adhere to the following guidelines while browsing the Anime Download section.
Show your appreciation
This rule should be relatively self-explanatory - thank the many uploaders and encoders for their work before you leech. Keep in mind that they share their work with this community not because they get paid to do so, but rather because they enjoy what they do and would like to help others. Please spare the few moments it takes to show your gratitude for their many hours of hard work.
Stay on topic
Please be aware of the content of your posts. The Download Section is not the appropriate forum for discussing anime - it is, as its name implies, a content-oriented section. You may discuss your favorite shows in the Anime Discussion forum. That said, flame wars of any kind are strictly prohibited and disciplinary action shall be taken toward participants.
Follow the Global Rules
Please keep in mind that, while the Anime Download section has its own rules, they only supplement, not substitute, fundamental rules. You are to follow these rules as you would in every other forum; there are no exceptions.
Guidelines for Uploaders:
These additional guidelines are for those that upload content to Kametsu Forums.
The titles of threads in the Anime Downloads forum must adhere to the following form (the coloring is solely for identification purposes):
[File Host(s)] [Affiliated Group(s)] Name of Show [source Media] [Audio Tracks]
A prefix indicating each file host your content has been uploaded to; use [bF] for BayFiles, [NL] for Netload, etc. If there are more than three hosts, use [Multi] instead of listing each individual host.
A prefix indicating the groups affiliated with your release. This tag must be formatted as such: [Encoding Group (Thora, Coalgirls, Commie) - Releasing Group (Cman, Dragon80, Forge)]
Name of Show
Self-explanatory. Be sure to include the name of the show you are sharing.
A suffix indicating the source media. This tag is the most complex in that it has the most variations. Here is a rundown by source and encode type:
[bD], [bD-1080p], [bD-720p]
Be sure to indicate the source and resolution of your release; if you are uploading both resolutions, simply use the ambiguous [bD] tag.
[DVD], [DVD-720p], [DVD-1080p], [Remastered]
If your source is a DVD, be sure to use the appropriate tag. If your release is 480p, simply use the [DVD] tag; if it is upscaled to any other resolution, use a modified tag variation. If the DVD has been remastered and you would like members to take special note of this, please include 'Remastered' in the source tag.
[m480p], [m720p], [m1080p]
If your release is a miniMKV, miniMP4, or miniAVI, please do not list your source (whether it be DVD, Blu-Ray, or something else). Rather, please use a lower-case 'm' to a tag containing the relevant resolutions. Mini encodes are defined to be smaller than 150MB per episode or 700MB per HD-resolution movie.
[PSP], [iPod], [PS3], etc.
If your upload is specifically designed to play on something other than a PC or standalone media box, you must replace your source tag with a tag with the target device's name.
If your release is encoded exclusively in 10-bit x264 (meaning you are not offering an 8-bit alternative download), you must indicate this by adding standalone [Hi10] tag to your source media tag.
- [bD], [bD-1080p], [bD-720p]
A suffix indicating the included audio tracks.
- (Sub) - Japanese audio with English subtitles.
- (Dub) - English audio with or without subtitles.
- [RAW] - Japanese audio without subtitles.
- [Dual-Audio] - Japanese and English audio with English subtitles.
- [bF/HF] [Cman] Soul Eater [blu-Ray] [Dual Audio]
- [RS/MF] [gg] Ao no Exorcist [Hi10] [HDTV] (Sub)
- [HF] [Doki] No. 6 [blu-Ray 1080p] (Dub)
- [Multi] [Cman] Darker than Black [Hi10] [blu-Ray] [Dual Audio]
Thread Template:When posting a new download thread of your uploads you must now follow a set template. Which you can copy and then paste from below:
If you plan to contribute often and would like to apply to become a Uploader or Encoder, please send a private message to me. Please note that not all requests will be accepted; applicants must make clear and meaningful contributions to our community.
Be sure to note the Recommended & Banned File Share Hosts.
- Also .rmvb and .rm video files are banned from being posted. These are terrible.
- adfly, linkbucks, bitly, safelinking, tinyurl or similar sites are not allowed, you must post the direct download links or your thread will be removed.
- If posting XDCC downloads, the bot must be in the #Kametsu channel as well. You can of course have your own channel, but your bot needs to be available in our channel to post about the bot.
