Downloading/Ripping From 9NOW?

15 posts in this topic

For people not familiar with 9NOW (Definition From Wikipedia):

9Now is a video on demand, catch up TV service run by the Nine Network. The service became available on 27 January 2016, replacing Nine's previous service 9Jumpin

Does anyone know who to download/rip from 9NOW?

Any help will be appricated!

Thanks,

TheOneWhoSees

seems to be an AU-only service, so us outside Australia can't do much to help unless we feel like proxying in to get access.

try glancing around the source code of the stream page, might be able to spot file links in whatever player they use.

9NOW changed their streaming links recently (today?).

They used to be like this:

https://secure.brightcove.com/services/mobile/streaming/index/rendition.m3u8?assetId=5237095835001&secure=true&expiration=1481579640000&token=ae28b3fc9c6fa7b31253e5e27fb3620afed4648d&videoId=5237081324001

Now they have these types of links:

https://9now-vod-dash-bc-origin.akamaized.net/4460760524001/5242813220001/video/1/init.mp4

https://9now-vod-dash-bc-origin.akamaized.net/4460760524001/5242813220001/video/1/seg-23.m4f

Now they are like this:

Can you give me a link to which episodes that it is doing this for you? The ones I tried seem to work.

I tried DogStar and it worked, I don't know why Teen Titans is harder to get.

Those ones use Microsoft Silverlight. I also haven't had any luck in ripping any of the 9Now videos that've started using it. Though it only seems to be for certain series/episodes. Maybe it's a rights issue?

Seems like it's only for shows they don't own.

Dogstar only aired yesterday and I can rip it easy.

It looks like they're starting to use Silverlight on more and more programs in general. I'm sure I used to be able to get Brave and the Bold but now it's Silverlight. Can still get shows like Justice League Unlimited, Bayblade Burst, Pokemon, Sonic Boom, Thunderbirds, Dogstar etc. But a whole bunch of others are now Silverlight. Looks like maybe they're switching over to using it for everything eventually.

Edit: Used to be able to get Teen Titans as well when they first started putting them up a couple of weeks ago but it was only season 3 at the time.
