MASS EFFECT - Trilogy

"Mass Effect is a science-fiction role-playing action game developed by BioWare for the Xbox 360 and later ported to the PC and the PlayStation 3. It is the first installment of the Mass Effect trilogy."

 

 

OK.

Back it the days (two years ago ?) we had topics about Mass Effect 2 and 3.

But none were talking about the global aspect of this game (which is, to me, an indisputable reference)..

 

Here's a plot following by a few questions.

 

 

"The galaxy is trapped in an endless cycle of extinction. Every 50,000 years, an ancient machine race invades the galaxy. With ruthless efficiency, the machines wipe out all advanced organic civilization. They leave behind only the scattered ruins of technology, destroying all evidence of their own existence.

 

Few believe this ancient legend. You, however, know it to be true. The fight to stop this extinction event has become the most important mission in the galaxy.

 

It is your mission. As Commander Shepard of the SSV Normandy, you will take your elite recon squad across a galaxy in turmoil, in a desperate race to stop the return of an enemy without mercy. To stop this enemy, you must act without remorse, without hesitation, and outside the limits of the law. Your only imperative is to preserve the safety of civilized life in the galaxy - at any cost. You must become the tip of the spear of humanity, for you alone know the full extent of what is at stake if you should fail."

 

Now, how many of you have already played it ? And what did you think ?

If so, how many times have you finished it ? And what ends (since there are 8 of them - 3 officially) did you get ?

Well I haven't played the trilogy, but I have played Mass Effect 2. It's an awesome game, I loved every moment.

Let me preface this by saying I lovingly refer to myself as a Mass Effect whore. I played through 1-3 as they came out for the 360 and then when I got my ps3 (last christmas) I wanted something to help me bond with it and found that they had the trilogy version on the ps3. Played through all 3 non stop in less than a month. I love the Mass Effect series and can't wait for ME4, except I'll never get to play it because they'll probably only put it out on the "next gen" consoles.

 

As for the endings- the first time I played was before the extended ending dlc, and I went with the destruction ending. The second time (the ps3) I had all the free dlc that came with the trilogy pack and was able to go with the synthesis ending. The problem I still have with ME3 is that it punishes players who don't go online for the multiplayer. "You want the best ending? It doesn't matter if you're God himself- go on multiplayer or your score won't be high enough. Wah wah, cry me a river you panzy as###(%."

Oh the ME4 will ONLY be released on the next gen consoles.. I won't be able to get it either.

I'm actually thinking about going online and try the multiplayer area because I WANT the synthesis ending ><

But I've only achieve the Control.

I was able to get the synthesis ending without the online. To get it though you pretty much have to do every side mission and play fully paragon or fully rengade through all three games. It was a lot more fun than it sounds because some little decisions (rewriting or destroying the heretics for example) can have a much larger consequence or benefit and you'll barely be aware of it till certain parts of ME3.

There's an actual trilogy pack for the ps3 and 360 (about $30 new at gamestop here).

I put a ton of hours in the Mass Effect trilogy because its amazing story and characters and tons and tons of replay value.
